shop the swimsuit arrived. It fits but I would say it's even a little generous on me so I'm not surprised it was much too big for you. It's a lovely colour as well. thank you very much for sending it Thanks

Turquoiseblue · 24/07/2014 18:24

ghd hairdryer

OneLittleLady · 24/07/2014 18:51

also, on a whim, bought purple hi top converse. I love love love them!

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 18:55

Afternoon! finished work relatively early and without the commute a bit of time to browse yet more sales...all my good intentions are broken! Blush at this rate there will be no woodburner for me this autumn....

topaz have a lovely weekend!

nice had a look at Austin Reed site as you recommended and some of my work clothes need a refresh for autumn, didnt like anything in the Hobbs sale, so bought grey jacket

Also white company alert, they have added new things to their sale. I grabbed silk skirt for summer and top to match, we will see if they look as good on me as on the willowy girls in their catalogue. White Co are a bit hit and miss, so anyway we will see. Also a lovely pair of stripy seaside cushions for the beach shack.

Now to watch that video...

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 19:00

Blimey shop I guess this is the movie based on the book.
Am I the only female left on earth that hasn't read them!??? and am I missing much Hmm

OneLittleLady · 24/07/2014 19:08

SoYo i haven't read them either, they just don't interest me. Haven't read the almighty Twilight either. Never got what the fuss was about either of them

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 19:18

one glad I am not the only one...also haven't read the Twilight series either, even couldnt sit through the awful movies with that miserable girl in them...Kirsteen something.
And even Harry Potter, I have friends who have read them all, I only read them at bedtime to my DS's when they were young, and glad I didnt have to read the whole series as by the time the later ones came they were already old enough to do by themselves.
I do read, but not sure if you would find my choices interesting, I guess what matters is what you enjoy as long as you read, and I always catch up on my kindle during those travel spells in hotels away from home.

Turquoiseblue · 24/07/2014 19:23

Justfinished unraveling Oliver this week. Very good. Not ever read 50 shades just not sure I d be interested.
One-Grin love purple hi tops!

OneLittleLady · 24/07/2014 19:27

I loved Harry Potter and I love the films too Blush the child who believes in magic in me can't let go yet!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/07/2014 19:41

Ugh, just gave up on an order from & Other Stories because something sold out while I was trying to get their website to play ball. No way am I paying £6 to have things costing £33 delivered. They have some lovely things on the New In though, might have to try and get to the shop soon!

Did buy a couple of other final sale things today:
Baukjen drape dress and
Yellow Jaeger top
Both for work and both colours are in my palette.

I watched that trailer and can safely say that's enough for me. I didn't read the books but surely the whole selling point is the sex scenes? It doesn't have a story Hmm

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 19:44

One most people love HP so you are not alone! I think I am the strange one...my favourite kids books are very old fashioned (the stuff I read when I was young i.e. Little Women, Tom Sawyer, etc) which no matter how hard I tried could never get DS's into. But I LOVE Disney movies (most anyway) and could recite some of them word for word Wink

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 19:46

Lovely buys Blair I know you are a young thing so that dress must look fabulous on!

maradesbois · 24/07/2014 20:01

blair good workwear buys. Also know what you mean about paying for postage. I only bought 2 x pairs of espadrilles from asos yesterday as one would have been under the free delivery limit.

stokey Rosé in Green Park sounds lovely. Oh no re your card though. Do you know when/how it happened?

topaz enjoy Dublin.

Am debating a mini dvf bag (in sale) for dsis birthday. Will link later.

Spent the evening with ds at gym swimming outside. Had a lovely time until he spilt this horrible hairbo ice cream all over both of us. Was not a WIT lifestyle moment! Wink

Have been a bit of a clubber today. There was a (seemingly) injured bird in street on way to nursery. An old lady and a tramp were both worried about it so said I'd call RSPCA and tramp said he'd wait for it. Anyway was passing again later on, bird still there, tramp gone so called RSPCA back and waited until they came. Turns out it was a young seagull and they can't fly anyway, there was nothing wrong with it Blush. They were nice about time wasting though.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/07/2014 20:43

Oh bless mara, I hope its parents found it so they could help it to learn to fly :)

Thanks SoyYo. I hope the dress isn't too low cut, would be annoying to always have to wear a vest.
I love all those old books too, my mum was the first of her siblings to have children so we had all their family books in our house. I recently downloaded all the Anne of Green Gables and What Katy Did books onto my kindle, lovely.

Re shorts - I was waiting for ages for these Dorothy Perkins ones to be reduced or for a code, then they sold out in my size! I'm too cheap sometimes lol :(

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 20:59

Mara you are so very kind!! Will have a look at your handbag tomorrow and comment...though I am not very savvy with handbags and only thanks to Blair found the Pippa style which I love.

Blair yes, what Katie did one of my all times faves! (probably because I could identify being locked away at boarding school for years) Anne of Green Gables also so lovely and old fashioned tales.

BTW I had a mother really into Herman Hesse, so I was given all his books in my early teens, and Romain Rolland (French author) and I still love them all.

Right ladies I am logging off for today, still too old fashioned to bother with smartphones, only use work blackberry for old fashioned emails and calls, and you wouldnt want to see my private mobile!! Every time I get an upgrade for a new fangled iphone it goes straight to my DS's.

Have a lovely eve all whatever you are up to. Thanks

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2014 21:33

Blair and SoyYo I loved "What Katie did" !!
Fab links all.
Shop Shock I'd be interested to see it! but would have to watch it alone and not in a cinema full of people......far too uncomfortable.
Mara you're lovely. Didn't know that about seagulls.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2014 21:41

Love learning new stuff - seagulls, who knew?
Have had the most fab pre holiday chat with DH tonight, you know the ones where you make real plans? Feeling good.
Hush dress has despatched so fingers crossed it'll arrive tomorrow.
Not long till holiday.
My new Kindle Paperwhite has arrived today. Brilliant bit of kit. Much better than my old Kindle. Am loading it up for holiday.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2014 21:46

Fingers crossed for the dress Shop....your chat sounds very positive. Lovely to go on hols feeling buoyed.

Fedupnagging · 24/07/2014 21:58

Some great bargains SoYo and Blair. The top is a gorgeous colour, sort of creamy yellow.

Mara, I was always led to believe that if a baby bird fell from the nest, the parent was unlikely to go back for it especially if people had been near it.

I read 50 shades eventually to see what all the fuss was about. Didn't bother with the next 2 and not too fussed about the film. (Unless it has fantastic reviews!). But, I have to say, whether a book is badly written or well written, if it gets people reading that's a good thing.

libertychick · 24/07/2014 22:05

That's so sweet of you Mara.
Purple high tops sound great One and v you!
Love that Baukjen dress Blair
I'm tempted by that silk skirt SoyYo but have lots of returns with WC...

I had a lovely compliment today - guy I work with told me I looked very Parisian in my H&M red skirt, white T and black ballet pumps. The skirt gets lots of comments - I had a wander around Westfield today and 3 SA's commented on it and asked where I got it.

I was also on Regent St and bought this navy top. The only thing is it's dry clean only, I may risk a handwash and iron damp - we'll see.

Shop I am feeling your holiday excitement - yay!!

Secretsquirrel13 · 24/07/2014 22:13

Katy! It's spelled Katy! Sorry but have overwhelming compulsion to correct spellings.
Skulks away again after quickly putting WIT lace espadrilles in basket.......

Secretsquirrel13 · 24/07/2014 22:19

Ps happy birthday to all the birthday girls. Liberty I am loving loads of your links at the moment.
Not been around much as been offered temp work contract until January but for various reasons unsure if it's the right thing. Meanwhile continuing with the contractor work which should slow right down now until September. I do try to read every other day or so.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2014 22:25

You're making me want to get my red skirt out now liberty. Your outfit sounds lovely.
Secret What Katy did......yes, I'm like you, had a rant over spelling a while back Grin
What to wear tomorrow? This weather is fab. And then what to pack for my week in London next week......will have to keep an eye on the forecast.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/07/2014 22:36

Lovely skirt liberty, the whole outfit sounds very chic :)
