your poor friend and baby Shop I hope the baby recovers soon Thanks

First time in weeks I haven't woken up with a blinding headache which was nice. Smile

Stokey · 23/07/2014 10:27

Lovely pendant Liberty . I've just bought this Alium B blue dress which they only have in 8 but they have a similar one on their site. Friends of friends own the label so it feels good to support them.

Hope your friend is OK Shop, very scary for her.

BrandyAlexander · 23/07/2014 10:32

Oh Shop, just read back, your poor friend. We were so lucky not to have any such dramas.

libertychick · 23/07/2014 10:34

Oh dear novice. Panadol and water. Are you working at home today or do you have to actually face other people?

That's good one. Hopefully that means you are sleeping better.

I am in an office full of very well dressed ladies today. Love it! I am wearing an old knee length pleated skirt in a hard to describe chequered pattern in red, blue, olive green and black with a silky s/s black French connection T and black ballet pumps.

libertychick · 23/07/2014 10:38

I have a red allium b dress stokey that I haven't worn yet. I am a bit nervous of the viscose shrinking when washed. This has happened with an American vintage dress I have and it's now too short for work which is annoying. Have you bought other Alium b dresses? Do they wash OK? Viscose is so hit and miss IME.

Drywhiteplease · 23/07/2014 11:02

this is the perfect holiday lotion. Sunscreen with fake tan all in one, my dreams have been answered

Shop what a brilliant friend you are. Your friend is lucky to have you. Hope the baby will be ok, in the best hands I guess.

Stokey · 23/07/2014 11:07

This is my first one Liberty , hadn't thought about shrinkage.

While I was in Ibiza, I was with quite a few folk from Brighton who were wearing their dresses and raving about them so didn't even think of it. I'll be the guinea pig if mine fits!

libertychick · 23/07/2014 11:23

I should just wear and wash mine stokey! It has been hanging in the wardrobe for months!

That stuff looks good dry.

shopafrolic · 23/07/2014 14:58

Just ordered this dress as it has gone down to £25. Hopefully it will arrive before holiday....
How are you feeling now Novice

Shopping trip with DS went smoothly. I snuck in a few bits too. A black, jersey short dress with vest top from H and M for my hols and this gym top and another in cerise. Useful stuff.
Fab weather. Trying to tackle a pile of ironing, but it's too hot.

Topazandpearl · 23/07/2014 15:26

I hope your friend's baby is ok Shop. I'm sure she really appreciates your help. Lovely dress!

Love that necklace Liberty. Your DH did well.

I have been to a funeral this morning of a friend's DF. It was not unexpected as he was elderly and very ill, but it is true that these things put minor concerns into perspective.

It seems to be our local uni's graduation today, lots of smartly dressed families around town. My DS's is not till October (want it now, stamps foot). Still, plenty of time to plan my outfit!

Stokey · 23/07/2014 15:27

I was thinking about that dress in black Shop but went for the Lisa one in navy instead.

Stokey · 23/07/2014 15:29

Sorry Topaz Flowers

Just watching the plane that was shot down on the news, one family lost three children and their father, so sad.

maradesbois · 23/07/2014 17:09

Hello,

annie lovely wedding pics. Great idea about contrasting shoes too, I loved that in the satc movie.

liberty a belated happy birthday and well done to your dh for gift. It can be dangerous going off piste but necklace is fab!

shop hope your friends are doing ok. Practical help is a godsend when you've just has a baby and even more so in their situation. Love the hush dress, very you.

Despite being on a spending ban have spent an inordinate amount of time of my lazy afternoon to myself lounging in garden looking at the end of the sales. Nothing for me on matches etc but have blatantly copied WIT's £12 asos lace espadrilles and ordered them in both colours for hols. Thought that the black slingbacks she lists were very dry.

Also got a swimming costume like this but mine is M&S not D&G! Had to stop myself ordering her shorts too, am worrying that love for WIT is destroying my capacity for independent thought!

MarshaBrady · 23/07/2014 17:32

Shop hope all is ok,

Mara great buys, love those lace plimsolls and bathers. WIT does do good instagram. That sand and sun looks so nice.

MarshaBrady · 23/07/2014 17:33

Although I know someone on here is not keen, is it Dry? Grin

This weather here is amazing. Perhaps I should book a UK holiday. Does that way madness lie?

libertychick · 23/07/2014 17:55

Thanks Mara. I have bought a fair few things recommended by WIT too.

Marsha only book UK hold if you can cope with the idea that the weather could change :)

shopafrolic · 23/07/2014 17:55

It does if you're from Oz!

shopafrolic · 23/07/2014 17:56

Hols not hold - grrr at autocorrect!

MarshaBrady · 23/07/2014 18:37

True! I'm not great at short haul. But you're right re weather. It would have to be train if UK.

SoyYo · 23/07/2014 19:06

Hi everyone, sorry it has been a while (MN41 I think) since I popped in.
I had so much travel with work I was really flat out, but glad to say I am now stopping the toing and froing to Europe till Sept. Most of my continental colleagues seem to go away for the whole of August...lucky them!

Not much to report on the fashion front, just some Boden sale shorts (surprising how nice they were) , and some wavewalk flip flops (blingy and very comfortable) from Clarks.
Oh yes and a nice Fantasie swimsuit in the sale, also spotty black and white, similar to the style mara posted above, but a one piece.

I returned a lot of my phase 8 purchases (earlier in July) as they didnt suit me, but the black skirt was a keeper.

Blair I love my Pippa bag, it is truly fab and very tempted to buy another (if the sale is still on) maybe orange like yours.

Sounds like you are all getting ready for your hols. We have ours in November on the Yucatan peninsula, Playa del Carmen, and have always wanted to visit the Mayan ruins but it is a while to go yet...

We have a flat on the north Norfolk coast we escape to often, and it is in all honestly all that has kept me going through this mad work period. I feel like Johnny no friends!! Have not seen any girlfriends in weeks now.
Last Fri got back from Heathrow very late and DH literally forced me to unpack and get back in the car to go. We had a lovely time and really recommend UK holidays Marsha, maybe I am developing an airport phobia but it is so much easier.

Anyway, just wanted to say reading your posts about your MU meetings, weddings, and other mundane but nevertheless lovely stuff has cheered me up.
Thank you Thanks

Fedupnagging · 23/07/2014 19:10

How is your hangover Novice? Hope you are feeling more human now!

Stokey' love the colour of the Alium B dress. I had a look at their website and saw this gorgeous necklace. It's so sweet.

Liberty I have been following your curly hair advice and currently sitting here with sopping wet hair wrapped up in a t shirt

Marsha I really like the lace espadrilles. WIT always looks great and how cute is her dd?

Am meeting friends in 30 mins (eek hair still v wet) and will wear a white linen dress from Zara and bronze sandals from Jones. Not much makeup as it's too hot. Am hoping to not have a hangover tomorrow a la Novice Grin

Fedupnagging · 23/07/2014 19:15

Hi SoYo, was just thinking we'd not heard from you for a while. Hope you will be calming down a bit more now.

There are some lovely places in North Norfolk - I love Burnham Market. The dog rather likes Snettisham beach!

SoyYo · 23/07/2014 19:25

Hi Fedup thank you for remembering me!

Yes it is lovely, I am in Cambs so only 1.3hrs drive from home which means we can escape often, in all seasons. Sometimes the best times are on a calm wintry and deserted beach.

Our flat is in Cromer, which is not upmarket Burnham or Holt, but nevertheless has lovely sea views, beautiful beaches and I do like the jollity of all kinds of folks walking by having a lovely day at the seaside, sometimes it is very much bucket and spades and icecreams, and fish and chips but I do love it as it is very real, and not at all pretentious. And go watch people crabbing at the pier.
The pier and the beaches are all deserted out of season, I have been on my own there many a time.

And of course there is Holkham beach for wide sands, Holt 10 mins drive for a spot of lunch and beautiful Norwich nearby for more serious shopping Wink...has honestly kept me sane through some crazy times.
