Grin Agree on WIT comments I would fail spectacularly of I had to be that perfect all the time. Plus her 'I m on the way to work' shots looking groomed and perfect and practically skipping along dreamily - doesn't look like she s spent morning getting herself and a toddler ready to get out the door. Well maybe she did,I don't know. Yes I d like to see her a little more human. When dc were smaller I was reknowed for wearing my clothes inside out- to work. possibly the other end of the organisational spectrum to WIT Wink
Annie - only saw your pic last night. Lovely. Weather here is fab. On my SAH days I m in shorts and tee. Have lace h and m espadrilles I picked up for holiday that have hardly left my feet and superga s or ilse Jacobson flop flops that I find a zillion times more comfy than hav sGrin.

Lib I have that dress - love it. But yy too hot for now.

Problem is we re out this weekend at a friends party. No idea what to wear. Jeans feel too hot. Any dresses I have feel wrong season or not dressed up enough. And wedding week after - though have a little problem getting sitters so might not actually end up staying for the whole thing. Will have to do a wardrobe rummage.
Marsha - Scotland is beautiful. Though almost short haul from London! Dh and I did a lovely week there years ago. We re going later this year to visit friends there too - bringing car and driving between places with dc. (Will coincide it with a match probably ) Lots to do but not so sunny IMHO. Depends on the type of holiday. Plenty of adventure and activity to be had. Do your kids like outdoor adventure stuff?
Shop glad shop dog is well.
One - phew! The heat! I love tepid showers to cool off.
Queen that s a nice compliment! And forgot to say, lovely bag. (Earlier post)
Hope sleep is doing ok. Is the move this week? Sending positive vibes.
Mara - love re DVF dress earlier.
Soyo- welcome back. You sound a bit worn out. Hope you re ok. Your escape to Norfolk sounds idyllic.

Fedupnagging · 24/07/2014 09:01

Topaz thanks for the link to the curly website. If you find a decent dryer with diffuser let me know. If I blow dry my hair straight (ish!) it's fine, but put hot air anywhere near curls, I end up looking like Crystal Tips. (A cartoon character from the 70's for you younger voguers)

Dry, a picnic sounds lovely. Enjoy.

Novice loved what you wore the other night especially the bag.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2014 09:12

Morning all. Waves.

Ugh hungover - Rosé in Green Park last night, nice at the time but has made it a painful morning. Sitting quietly at work hoping no-one asks me to do anything.

I love that maxi Liberty and keep thinking of buying it but my card got hacked yesterday - someone spent £290 on Tesco.com and obviously my bank realise I'm strictly an Ocado girl! Anyway I had to cancel my card so am on a shopping ban for the next few days.

Love the east Anglia coast SoyYo. I used to go to a friend's place in Aldeburgh when I was a teenager.

South Wales was a revelation to me earlier this year in terms of stay-cations Marsha and Dorset, Devon and Cornwall are all lovely. The Scottish islands are also lovely but it is a game of chance weather wise. My Scottish colleague was saying there are heatwave warnings in Edinburgh this week cos the temperature is 22 Hmm

QueenCardigan · 24/07/2014 09:50

Grin at heat wave at 22 degrees.

South Wales is indeed beautiful. We're going to bluestone but we shall be visiting the gorgeous Pembrokeshire beaches. Bit of a trek from London though. I do absolutely adore Devon and Cornwall too.

I'm thinking about ordering another pair of shorts. Is that tempting fate with the weather though....?

Lazy day here. Dc in bed late due to heat but still up at normal time Hmm so lots of screen time this morning.

annielewis · 24/07/2014 10:00

queenc I'm the same, really want to buy some more shorts but convinced I'll jinx this weather and we'll all be on flood warnings this time next week! Grin

I'm living in shorts vests/loose cotton tops and gigis or flip flops. Need some new flip flops tho as mine are abouts to die! What's the verdict on hav's or which other brands are good, as in comfy and won't break too quickly!

Am going out for drinks tonight, can't wait, could do with a drink already...Grin

QueenCardigan · 24/07/2014 10:08

I love my havs and IMO were definitely worth the money. A couple of summers ago I bought cheapie ones from Asda and they ripped my toes apart.

So, shall we buy shorts or not annie?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/07/2014 10:22

annie I love my havs but also have an old pair from accessorize that refuse to die.

Lol Stokey I know that feeling - have even had to get a taxi to work more than once in the past due to not feeling safe to drive the next day - then just sit there thinking "why did I do it???" Grin

WIT has actually left her job now though hasn't she? I'm sure it was harder than she made it look to pose in front of that wall each morning all dressed up. I confess I'm looking forward to seeing what her next "project" will be all about though.

Good news Shop :)

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2014 10:24

Bloody I phone has died.....another trip to see a genius tomorrow.Sad
I love picnics......3 mums and a total of 9 teenagers Grin we seem to have acquired some on the wayHmm now they're old enough to bugger off I'm looking forward to a good catch up with the girls.Grin
Stokey I sympathise. Slight headache this morning.
QueenC I'd stock up . Are they reduced?

Stokey · 24/07/2014 10:36

A few shorts on sale still at Banana Republic. I don't think I suit shorts really, I wear a lot of skirts and dresses when it's hot.

Havs all the way for me too Annie.

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 12:09

Hi again everyone! Thanks for all the lovely welcomes back Smile

Shop funny we have similar geographical links. I remember you said your uncle lives in Edinburgh, my DH's hometown (his family now live in Perthshire which is also very lovely) so I second Scotland for a break, we go every year to visit the outlaws and other family. Also NL as you know I lived there for a few years and your brother is in Amsterdam right? AND your DH being a Norwich boy, so you know all about lovely Norfolk! It is not flat at all, north Norfolk coast is lovely gentle hills, at least compared to Cambs which indeed is very flat till you get to the Suffolk/Essex border.

So homeworking today and loving it! Wearing this but in the navy blue version, the modal jersey is lovely and cool.
Have my Clarks wavewalk flipflops on with sparkly gold sequins. I have worn these consistenly for the last 2 years and a good scrub leaves them good as new.
So good are they that I just bought another pair (this time in black with blingy jewels) when I spotted them at my local Clarks, unfortunately not available online so cannot link. They are not cheap (45) but last for ever, are extremely comfortable for very long walks, washable and give me a bit of height which I love.

Turq and Fedup for my curls (I do the same as liberty re curly girl routine and I do have masses of long curls) I use this excellent ionic hairdryer It's on offer at Boots too and leaves my curls really shiny and frizz free. Use after careful tshirt-microfibre towel dry, on mid setting with head upside down to give volume at roots, and when nearly dry finish in cold setting and leave the last bit to dry naturally.
I hope this is useful.

Off to check the links you posted!

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 12:13

Actually the hairdryer I have was J.Frieda from Boots but the silver version, which is no longer available with a diffuser so I am guessing the one I linked to is just as good but maybe a bit smaller. I think the secret is in the "ions" which till I tried it thought is was just a marketing ploy...but it does seem to work and leave curls shiny and frizz free

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 12:58

Another good tip this time for suncream (if you are interested).

On my way back last week @ Frankfurt airport (here we go with my airport treats again) I picked up this as recommended by I.Knight in ST Style.
I have light olive skin so tan easily but also have sun damage from childhood spent in hot weather, and this one just melts and not at all greasy like most high spf creams.

SoyYo · 24/07/2014 13:04

And sorry Turq the hairdryer tip was for Topaz, I mixed up names! Blush

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/07/2014 13:05

Thanks SoyYo have pinned - I'm always on the lookout for new SPF to try on my freckly face.

And thanks to novice I have discovered lots of lovely new workwear at Austin Reed - thinking of getting some things, how would you say the quality is? Obviously it gets your DH's seal of approval Wink

libertychick · 24/07/2014 13:19

fedup I ordered both the 10/12 and 12/14. I am a definite 12/14 on hips and the 10/12 was a better fit IMO.

annielewis · 24/07/2014 13:54

queenC I'm looking online at shorts now! I'm too bloody hot and just bought some cheap sundresses in a local shop but don't like either of them on me. COuldn't try them on as DS was being a grump... back they go and shorts it is!!!!

Am also going to pick up some hav's or clarks wavewalk flipflops tomorrow - await your imminent bad weather warnings!! :)

shopafrolic · 24/07/2014 14:03

Annie what size are you in shoes? I have some black Havs (Brazil) that I was just about to EBay. PM me if interested? Hardly worn as I got gold instead.....
SoYo you have an amazing memory!

No worries fed up. I was a bit confused- my hair not so curly but does frizzy wellWink
s
SIL (curly girl) swears by the GHD ionic hair dryer and I have seen her get salon type results with it at home. Will ask her for link for those of you interested. Her s has it a own travel case. She s very very precious particular about her hair and products. And does silicone free too.

Fedupnagging · 24/07/2014 14:35

Thanks Liberty. Will order the smaller size. It will be mega long on me so will need taking up.

SoYo and turq thanks for the heads up on the hair dryers. Will look into them when back from hols.

So, shopping trip not too successful with ds2- didn't like anything except a rucksack. Ds3 refused to come then txt me asking to look at bags for him but could I please take photos and send them to him to decide Hmm. And before you ask, yes I was the idiot taking photos of bags....

However, I did pick up a Nine West cotton vest top in TK and a jumpsuit in Next. I can't find links of either that are linkable though.

QueenCardigan · 24/07/2014 14:40

annie dh has vetoed me getting new shorts. Boo. But to be fair, I don't need them as I have 3 pairs but I'm just bored of wearing them every day!

OneLittleLady · 24/07/2014 15:04

aftetnoon all.have been shopping today and bought a floral sundress,a red mock wrap dress,a long sleeve navy cardigan, two mock wrap ruched tops in emerald green and colbalt and a couple of ribbed cotton vests in mint green and lipstick pink.total cost £25.07p.lots of sales here atm so pleased with my lot.sat in the shade with an iced latte waiting for my brother Smile Smile Smile

Topazandpearl · 24/07/2014 15:04

Thank you for the hair dryer link SoyYo. That looks a possibility. Am also interested in your SIL's Turq so if you can get the link, that would be great, thanks.

Am off to Dublin for the weekend tomorrow for family party on Saturday. Weather there is due to break so unsure what to pack. Will wave for you as I drive past on the way to the shopping centre Lib!

libertychick · 24/07/2014 15:46

Ha ha thanks topaz :). Have fun!

I'm feeling the need for a new hair dryer now. No idea what make mine is! The curly girl hairdresser wasn't very impressed with it though.

Having a sneaky glass of pinot before I head home for the day. And I have just bought a navy LA pillage!

Turquoiseblue · 24/07/2014 15:55

Ahh fedup Grin at your shopping for DS. I can see myself like that in a few years.
Nice one topaz. You ll have fun.Smile
