Ewa michalak bra sizing

Am about to order a bra, but can't remember if I order my usual size, or one cupsize up. It is the S style I am looking at, and I am a 28G/GG or 30FF/G. Anyone roughly my size ordered that style?

I'm waiting for a replacement Slowianki too - that's the mis-size I got. Admittedly I was a little bit sore after wearing my BM today but I'm still breaking it in, and I was sitting crunched up on the sofa which is a sure fire recipe for digging wires on me. It was pretty comfy until I did that!

HalleLouja · 08/08/2014 21:16

Ok so am 30 inches under boobs and a 40 inches whrn bent over. What does that make me? The 40 was a bit loose.

hellymelly · 08/08/2014 21:17

Is it generally tricky to exchange EM bras then? I haven't tried yet.

I'm a custom size which are non returnable normally, so I wasn't sure what their response would be. As both Sorrel and I have found in the past you also have to make sure you send the invoice and the little receipt back when you send stuff back or they absolutely will not refund or exchange - something to do with polish sales tax.

Halle, start point of 30gg, what are you wearing just now?

HalleLouja · 08/08/2014 21:27

Am in 30G. Its the bravissimo dixie (well flutter me) ggs in bravissimo were too big. Plus I think they've shrunk in the last month I bought the bra mid July.... Have always been measured properly. But have lost loads of weight and need new bras plus don't want to buy a new bra from Poland I can't send back in the wrong size.

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/08/2014 21:33

The measurement is only ever approximate really - it can easily vary a cup or two especially as the size increases. How is the dixie fitting at the moment?

As you're under a 30GG you're in their standard range so it's returnable.

hellymelly · 08/08/2014 22:32

Halle I have a EM CHP style in a 30FF, it is a bit small on me right now, So I have never worn it, but I am keeping it as I fluctuate. However I could post it to you for you to try it for size, if you would then post it back? It is the CHP Cappuccino. As it hasn't been worn it hasn't got stretched or anything so might be helpful to judge fit?

Dixie seems a bit big. I do still like it though. But its that time of the month so not sure if that changes anything. So will see in a few days. Am going to try my lily again am back from holidays and left it at home.

Helly if you are sure I would of course post it back. I might order anyway so don't fret if you aren't comfortable sending.

HalleLouja · 09/08/2014 06:57

The Panache bikini style isobel in 30gg did fit well. Bliming boobs.

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/08/2014 11:21

Hmm. I havent tried Dixie, but I actually wear one cup size up from Panache in Ewa. I'd say trying Helly's is a good plan. I have a 30H SM which i can send you to try if that seems to be vastly too small.

hellymelly · 09/08/2014 11:24

Happy to post it, could send the G cup one I have too , then you would have a rough idea, although the wires seem the same on both bras, they are different styles , the experts here will know how the wires change from style to style and size to size. Can't get to the PO until Monday morning but they would be with you Tuesday, if you can bear to wait that long to place an order! Have a think and let me know.

I cross posted with Sc, but if I post you the FF and and G, then if they are too small by quite a bit you could try SCs H! I could also send my GG that has just arrived actually, I am wearing it but could live without it for a few days I'm sure, esp as that is the style you want anyway.

Ewa fitting by post, I love it! I need to post your bras Helly, this week has been manic but I will send them off next week!

hellymelly · 09/08/2014 12:12

SC I am just wrapping your book. Will send it off on Monday when I post the bras to HalleLou.

HalleLouja · 09/08/2014 12:16

Thanks Helly I will return once I have tried them on. Thanks SC too for the offer.

We need a MN bra library. Like a sling library but for Polish bras.

hellymelly · 11/08/2014 11:43

My Comexim bras have arrived! All four are 60J. Anyway they are all a very similar shape, the Irish coffee, the Nadin, the Ingrid and the Basic, All an uplifty plungey sort of style. They are all pretty tight in the band, esp the basic, I broke a stitch on the band trying to stretch it. I think if I was any wider (am 26 and a half/27 ") they would be too tight. They do have a bit of stretch but not much. They are a bit snugger than a Panache 28. The cup is also slightly small for me at the moment, I do wonder if a 65J might have been better, but not so small that I can't wear them, and certainly as my weight goes up and down so often then they will fit well in the cup at some point soon I think. They fit like a tight band 28GG. The shape is good, they aren't too wide at all. It is an adjustment getting used to a lower cup, as I have worn so many of the Freya styles that SC calls "almost V-necked" ! These have a lower cup altogether. The matching pants for all of them are on the small side, they are smaller than Ewa pants, so I would advise anyone inbetween to size up.
I also got the Cleo Juna, I had sent the 28GG back to exchange for the 28H. Same problem I am having with all Cleo, the 28GG is too small in the cup, but the H is too wide. In the Juno it looks fine if I stand up straight, shoulders well back, but as soon as I have to move my arms forward even slightly, then the cup is squashed forward as it is too far into my armpit, and this causes the cup to gape and the whole shape to look wrong. So it isn't working. The GG was the better width but it gave me quad boob at the top of the cup. So annoying, as I want to find a standard UK bra that fits well.
So I am keeping the Comexim bras, but might not be able to wear them for a little while. Might order a 65J to see how that works on me, or try a different style. I will try wearing one for part of today and see how that works, but ideally I think that I need a 60K or 65J right now.

Drat I forgot to warn you about the mini pants!

hellymelly · 11/08/2014 12:15

They are a good size down aren't they? I veer between 10 and 12 in trousers, am a 12 at the moment. Ewa M fit really well, in some styles I would fit the S better probably. But in the Comexim ones they look more like an 8-10. Luckily they are stretchy but I think I will get the L next time I order, nothing worse than too tiny pants that dig in!

OP posts:
hellymelly · 11/08/2014 13:08

Am wearing the Nadin and it feels pretty good so far actually. I like the fact the wires are quite low, there isn't any quad effect showing through my t-shirt, and the back is tight but not unbearably so. Have only had it on for half an hour so will see how it feels as the day progresses!

OP posts:
hellymelly · 11/08/2014 16:45

Well the Nadin has been pretty good, it is only now starting to annoy me, it is digging in at the bottom of the band. There is a thin strip of elastic edging there that is tighter than the band as a whole, and so it is cutting into me now. I could pop in an extender I suppose, although the rest of the band is fine.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 11/08/2014 17:41

I know the bit, a lot of bras have it. You could try an extender but tbh I reckon it will ease with wear

hellymelly · 11/08/2014 23:01

I find a lot of bands are very flared in shape, then they end up with all the tightness in the one little strip of elastic. My ribs don't widen much at all at the point of the band, they go fairly straight up, so I end up with a band that is tight at the bottom but loose at the top, rather than the tension being spread through the whole band. I have tried altering bras but it is hard as the whole band needs re-jigging and the straps replaced to sort the problem out. Royce nursing bras that I wore for the first two months of breastfeeding, where the worst for this on me, the elastic at the bottom of the band was tight but the rest of the band was baggy, it was like being tied up with string!

Looking at bratabase , I noticed a couple of other Polish brands- Melissa Dessous, and Avocado. Anyone tried these?

OP posts:
HalleLouja · 13/08/2014 10:12

Helly thanks very much for the bras. The FF and G were far too small for my ample norks.

However, the 65GG fitted well there was just a gape at the front. It might just need some adjusting. Will have a play later and send back today or tomorrow. Not sure if its just the style or what.... Bras - why can't they just fit Hmm

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/08/2014 10:24

Where was it gaping out of interest halle?
