Ewa michalak bra sizing

hellymelly · 01/07/2014 14:30

Am about to order a bra, but can't remember if I order my usual size, or one cupsize up. It is the S style I am looking at, and I am a 28G/GG or 30FF/G. Anyone roughly my size ordered that style?

The s shape is good, nice shape under clothes, not too wide into my armpit, not pulling my breasts apart. Probably the GG would be more comfortable, but it might be too big maybe?. I have a lot of breast not in the bra, but it isn't cutting in at the edges as the Idina does on me, and some Freya. Certainly it is the best shape I have found. I get confused by the letter names for the styles, I will go and look at some sm and pl styles, and then the chp. I have a ch, but it is too small so I can't really judge. i bought it in a 65FF.

I love the look of the SM Malinka, the red lace one, but they are in the sale so I can't get my size.

O think in general Ewas cover a lot less breast than the likes of Freya so they are a bit of a shock.

I have the malinka, it runs very small in the band compared to the s styles I think -the fabric isn't very stretchy.

It's hard to know whether you need another cup or not - maybe try putting a really tight t shirt on as quad is easier to spot that way!

hellymelly · 29/07/2014 13:26

I just called Comexim- is public service in Poland particularly bad? A woman answered- I said "Hello, do you have anyone there who speaks English? " She replied "NO". And put the 'phone down. Almost as funny as the fact that in their list of countries, Norfolk appears. That really made me laugh. (Well with their webbed feet and all...).

Well I have sent a paypal payment to Comexim and am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that the whole thing goes smoothly and the bras fit....I opted for 60J rather than 65HH. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

Will try the tight t-shirt later, the bra is drying, I wash everything before I wear it as I sometimes have allergic reactions to bras. Really. My worst was to a Fauve one, even after washing I had hives in a bra shape, not including the cups for some reason ! My GP was quite amused. (I have chronic hives anyway and all sorts of random things seem to trigger them).

OP posts:
goodasitgets · 29/07/2014 16:07

I have the malinka too and love it Smile

I generally am a 34JJ/32K base size
Ewa I generally need a 34K. I went for a 32K for my last one, the cup is perfect but the band is so so tight

hellymelly · 29/07/2014 17:03

I wish I had the Malinka. Envy

No response from Comexim, is that normal? Do they email you anything to say that they have your order and payment etc? Am still mulling over whether the 60J will be ok, or if I should have got the 65HH, as this Ewa bra is so small in a 65. I measure 27", 28s are usually fine, but if they come up small there is nowhere to go, whereas if a 30 comes up small I can still wear it.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 29/07/2014 20:20

If it comes up small you can pop an extender in...it's really hard to say but EM can be very variable unfortunately so I wouldn't judge on it too much.

Olga79 · 29/07/2014 21:03

It's interesting that you mention about the hives, I've recently started having some sort of reaction to my bras and it's driving me mad. I don't know what I'm going to do if it persists.

hellymelly · 29/07/2014 22:24

I had a reaction to a new bra in my 20s, hives everywhere the bra touched. That was sorted and it didn't happen again, I assume it was something the bra had been coated in as it was fine once it was washed (I had worn it straight from the shop). I occasionally had hives around my bra band over the years, but not often. Then 22 months ago I had a reaction to some antibiotics, that subsided but a month or two later I reacted to the Fauve bra, and was covered in a bra pattern of hives, but not the cups, I was worried it might be a latex allergy but other bras were fine. Then I started having random attacks of hives and now I have them every day, in patches on my arms and legs and tummy mainly. I dread reacting to another bra as it was so itchy and so horrible to look at. I don't know why that one Fauve bra caused such a reaction. There must be something on the fabric that I am allergic too, the same thing that caused my first reaction I imagine. They are completely different colours, the first bra was red, the other turquoise. I have worn lots of other coloured bras so I don't think it is the dye- its a mystery!

SorrelForbes · 29/07/2014 23:08

What a pain (literally!). I'm allergic to nickel and often get reactions to the metal rings on bra straps.

hellymelly · 29/07/2014 23:24

Oh Nickel must be really annoying, do you have to replace the rings? I must admit, when I reacted the Fauve bra, I was beyond despair. I'd had the most ghastly year of my life and the thought of never wearing a bra again, or having to make my own out of cotton sheets or something...I did cry! Luckily it isn't every bra, phew.

OP posts:
hellymelly · 29/07/2014 23:25

(It was my favourite bra though, lovely shape and colour..sob)

SorrelForbes · 29/07/2014 23:28

I use Stat's top tip and coat them with clear nail varnish after each wash. I have very sensitive skin and often have 'itchy days'.

SorrelForbes · 30/07/2014 10:39

My Comexim bra arrived this morning. It's this one. I paid £36 for it (free P&P) from Well Fitting (and they've sent me a 10% off coupon for my next order). So a little more than direct from Comexim but sort of worth it for the hassle free payment method!

Anyway, it's definitely the correct size (hurray!). Their 65J is a 30GG. Now that I've got that sussed I can order direct from Comexim without too many worries about having to keep returning stuff.

Although size wise it's fine, it's a plunge which is never going to be perfect on me. The cleavage it gives me is pretty crowd stopping but being a plunge it doesn't give as much lift as my EM CH/CHPs (what does?!).

I prefer balconettes or half cups were the sides of the bra sit right at the side of my body (if that makes sense?). I've scooped for Britain this morning and there is still some squidge under my arms. The cups gape a tiny bit at the top outside corner and there is a minute hint of overspill on my bigger boob (which you can't see under a tight t-shirt). I can tell that a bigger cup would be too big. The band is a tight 30 but feels very comfortable indeed.

It's a keeper and I'm definitely to going to order a Comexim balconette in a 65J to see how that works.

hellymelly · 30/07/2014 11:47

Oh that is the one I have just ordered from comexim! I like the 60's screen starlet look of it. I've ordered a size down from you, the 60J, I hope it isn't too tight. What do you measure rib-wise?
I know what you mean about the bra sitting right at the side of the body, I find a lot of bras seem to pull my breasts sideways under my arms. I haven't tried a CH style bra, only the CHP one, which is gorgeous but I have put weight on and it is too small in the cup, it was slightly small when I got it, so the extra half a stone has made it unwearable. It is a lovely looking bra though, I have this one www.ewa-michalak.pl/product-eng-317-CHP-Cappuccino.html I have the same pants and they are really well cut over the bottom so they don't dig in.

OP posts:
hellymelly · 30/07/2014 11:49

How long did it take to come from wellfitting? I didn't realise postage was free- did you have to pay duty on it, or was it then shipped from Poland?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 30/07/2014 11:50

Sounds pretty good given how bad plunges tend to be for you - at least the size is good. If you are ordering direct it's worth knowing that comexim will do pretty much any customisation you fancy -higher or lower gores, reduced fabric/cup height near the straps is quite popular.

The lift is good -I have my summertime on today -but it's not an ewa. Bit of a cleavage uplift trade off I think!

hellymelly · 30/07/2014 11:51

I also ordered this one www.comexim.pl/plunge/335-irish-coffee-biustonosz.html and this one www.comexim.pl/plunge/214-nadin-biustonosz.html Maybe I should have ordered a different shape to compare, I was looking at the colours more than the shapes I think.

OP posts:
hellymelly · 30/07/2014 11:53

I like the Summertime, I think I will order that if the others work on me.
How does the customisation work? You just email them and request something? They haven't replied to my order with paypal yet, is that usual?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 30/07/2014 12:22

I don't remember them being particularly swift at replies but yes, you just email for customization. I've not done it but know of a few who have

hellymelly · 30/07/2014 12:35

I went a bit mad and ordered this www.ewa-michalak.pl/product-eng-569-SM-Miekki-Bambino.html as I have been mulling over it, and I think the only way I will find something that I love is by throwing some cash at it now and trying as many as possible. I have wasted so much money on bras that don't work for me at all, I just want to find a few styles that are right for me. My best friend, who I have known since we were 11, has worn the same wonderbra style since she was 16, and never bothers with anything else as the fit and shape are what she wants. Luckily it hasn't been discontinued!

Ooh I haven't tried my miekke yet... What's rushing about this morning! Will give it a try this evening
