Ewa michalak bra sizing

Am about to order a bra, but can't remember if I order my usual size, or one cupsize up. It is the S style I am looking at, and I am a 28G/GG or 30FF/G. Anyone roughly my size ordered that style?

I got a bravissimo one this morning, it is a Tutti rouge one, but for the first time in my life I couldn't even do it up! It is a 28GG, and the band measures 21 unstretched, and as there is hardly any band, and so only a couple of inches that are elastic, is is a struggle to get it to 23", 24" at absolute full stretch, that would be too tight to wear. It would fit my nine year old dd who has a 21" ribcage, and is so slender that I have problems getting trousers to fit as she is also tall. I can't believe there is a grown woman who could fit this bra. The band is half the size of the front cup bit, very pretty but completely mad sizing.

The pants are on a separate drop down at the top left. The summertime in a 65k is pretty much the same as a Freya 30hh or an ewa 30hh size wise. Maybe a Cleo 30h and a half lol

Shame re the tutti rouge but useful for our 26 band ladies to know it runs tiny!

hellymelly · 02/07/2014 12:03

I used to be 25.5/26" around the ribs when I was a bit thinner, I've put on an inch, but even then I wouldn't have got it done up. I hadn't checked the feedback annoyingly, as other 28 band women had been unable to do it up too. I literally had a couple of inches of gap. Bravissimo did say that Tutti Rouge bands come up small, so that might be helpful for 26" Women generally, but in this style i think a woman with 26" ribs would still need the 30" band bra, I think there has been some sizing mistake, as most of my dds friends would struggel to get the bra done up, and they are all 8/9 years old !!

OP posts:
hellymelly · 02/07/2014 12:03

Struggle not struggel!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2014 12:09

It can sometimes go a bit wonky in smaller bands especially with big cups when they forget that there's only two inches of stretchy fabric cos of the wire length! Tutti is still a fairly new company too si they're maybe still ironing out the gremlins

LosBreakingBad · 02/07/2014 13:05

May I ask a stupid question about the Ewa site?
The prices are not in pounds, how do you find out how much they are in pounds? Are they particularly expensive?

hellymelly · 02/07/2014 13:13

google "currency converter" and you will get one that will show you the current rate of exchange.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2014 13:25

The price is in Polish zloty

LosBreakingBad · 02/07/2014 16:24

Thank you.

hellymelly · 08/07/2014 13:44

SC any joy re the EW high waist pants?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 08/07/2014 13:48

They're out of the fabric, I can't even get the bra :(

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 08/07/2014 13:55

I'm glad Los asked that question!
Another one, if I may: I've been wearing the Freya Deco and it's the first one that's given me a good shape in years; trouble is, the edges (at the front between the cleavage) stick out as a stiff ridge once they've been washed, especially the nude version. My DD has found the same with hers.
Is there an equivalent nice uplifting rounded seamless t-shirt bra in EM (or anywhere else, for that matter), does anyone know?
Thanks all.

goodasitgets · 08/07/2014 14:11

Best bet is to go on the ewa site and use the drop down on the left - you can select nude or beige and there's quite a few Smile

hellymelly · 08/07/2014 14:48

Oh, I am gutted. They never seemed to actually get it in stock, I hope they make a similar style soon.

I have ordered the raspberry red Ewa bra , ordered a 30G, as then i can return it, rather than the 28GG. Wish they didn't take so long to come though!
I had a Bravissimo Satine arrive this morning, in a 28H. Had high hopes for this, the back is fine, but it doesn't really fit me in the cup, think I may even need a cup size up, but the main issue is it wrinkles at the bottom, there is a gap where my breast doesn't seem to fit into the bra, also the straps are right at the very edge of my shoulders, and the bra still seems altogether too wide apart for me. Sad. Am fed up as it is really pretty. I do not have a single bra that fits at the moment, and I nearly cried on the 'phone to Bravissimo, as I am so fed up of ordering endless bras next day delivery and then they don't fit. I have ordered the Panache Minnie, 28GG, not sure if i should have gone down a cup in that?
Maybe I just need to stick to Ewa Michalak once I find my perfect size, as the shapes of the bras are much better on me than Freya/panache/Bravissimo etc.

OK, have decided to bite the bullet and order something from Comexim- should I get my back size, 28, (I measure 27), and then just compute the cup from the size I seem to be now? (30G 28GG). How does one pay?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2014 13:39

You have to email comexim to order.

I wear a 28j or 30hh in satine but recognise the wrinkling cups. 30h in Cleo -don't have Minnie but do have various sister styles. Would say band is on a par with satine. Comexim it depends on the bra, I have one 60l and one 65k

hellymelly · 11/07/2014 14:04

Thanks SC, I am still trying to work out what size I am now. Also i have a thyroid problem and that has made me put on a bit of weight, but it is likely now I will lose it again, so will drop back a size. The time lag between ordering and delivery from Poland is a bit tricky , as hopefully I will be a bit smaller in 6 weeks time than I am now, really I just need a bra to wear right away that fits well, as the 30FF I am wearing is huge around the back and too small in the cup. There are a few Comexim styles I really love though, so I do want to order something. Is it easy to return things for an exchange, or is that complicated? I have a plunge Bravissimo style in a 28GG and that is too small in the cup, but maybe that is the style, I don't know. I suppose I should try a 28H in something by Freya to get a rough idea.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2014 14:50

I find Freya a little bigger than bravissimo own brand. What are you measuring just now? And what's breast shape like?

hellymelly · 11/07/2014 15:39

I measure 27 around my ribs, 36 at bust wearing a bra, and more like 39 if i do the bend over thing, possibly 38, not sure if tape is in the right place!

OP posts:
hellymelly · 11/07/2014 15:45

Oh and shape is quite rounded, volume all over, lower than they used to be due to breast feeding for ages, but still rounded, no gap between them, they are on my front rather than going to the sides. I am tall but hate high wires in my armpits, and found the Satine both too wide (pulled my breasts apart, bra was right under my arms) even though the actual cup was a bit small, and the straps were too wide for me too. Front gore wires need to be very close together to fit me. I don't understand why I can never find a great fitting bra. Ewa bra is the best so far but the cup size is too small (30FF) and the straps a bit wide (Cappuccino bra).
I have ordered a Freya 28GG, so at least that gives me a starting point I suppose?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2014 16:20

I'm thinking a 28gg or even h is probably going to be right for you. I'd think that ewa wise you will probably prefer the s style to the chp, it's brilliant for close set. I'm a similar shape and have just ordered a few bargain Freya in tge sale so will report back. Cleo are funny, they should be awful on my close set boobs but somehow they are Ok.

hellymelly · 11/07/2014 17:11

Oh yes, please do report back on the Freya. I ordered a Deco in the sale as I've not tried one since I stopped breast feeding 20 months ago. Don't hold out much hope though. How are you with the Deco? Have also ordered the Cleo Minnie, and a new Freya called "ignite" mainly because I like the colour. I want the Comexim Irish Coffee, I really like it, and there is a floral one I love, the Nadia. Not sure what size to order in those, if I get my size now and then lose the weight I have put on, then they will be too big. Might get one in each size, I am feeling like i really need to throw some cash at decent bras!!

OP posts:
hellymelly · 11/07/2014 17:44

SC have you ever found a comfortable sleep bra? I don't feel comfy sleeping bra-less, so I wear a bra I bought while pregnant, from M&S, it is a 34E, so huge around the back, but I like it to be loose, as I don't wear it for support when standing up, I wear it stop my breasts squishing together when i sleep on my side. I can't find anything similar (it is stretch lace).

OP posts:
MangoBiscuit · 11/07/2014 19:23

I've been eyeing up the Ewa M website for a while, but I too am utterly confused by the sizings. Going by the bra intervention, I'm a 36GG, but my current bras that fit (only 2!) are 36G. Using the form on the website gives me 90FF.

I've tried the Freya Deco, the 36G was a perfect fit, but gave me a very odd shape, like I wanted to be Madonna. I seem to find that most bras have my breasts pointing out sidewards, which feels awkward and looks odd on me. I'm also quite close in the middle, with little to no gap and find most central gores are too wide, and leave me with that horrid effect of wires in my armpits.

Which styles should I be looking at? And do I order 90FF (40FF) or a 36G, 36FF? Or something else?
