Mine is considerably more hemmed in and urbanGrin

Blackduck · 12/06/2014 19:33

Also welcome! (Starts to wonder how many crepeys wishes can accommodate)

cremolafoam · 12/06/2014 20:04

Rosebag I have been looking at Birkis today too and funnily enough I chose that pattern as well. Not a fan of toe constriction thoWink
I have found my desired ones in the sale from foot shopping
Which is a German ? company but they ship for free to uk. I can wait ok for a couple of weeks , so if you can too , you may be able to find the Rimini ones on there.

cremolafoam · 12/06/2014 20:07

Have ordered these beauties in the sale for schlepping about on hols.

herbaceous · 12/06/2014 20:21

Wore my Madrid birkies today for lots of schlepping around, and have now got a blister on the ball of my foot. Bah. I have some second hand Gizehs, but I'm still wearing them in - the toe post gives me a bit of gyp.

My mum's a nightmare to buy for these days. She has everything she wants, and doesn't believe in new-fangled things for the kitchen. She's still using knives and pans they were given as wedding presents.

My dad's even worse. He can hardly see, so books are no longer any good, can't concentrate on a DVD, doesn't smoke, and we've bought him every possible item of clothing, from panama hat to thermal socks. Not that he'd remember what we got him anyway...

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 12/06/2014 20:26

I can thoroughly recommend Footshopping. Smile

I took my mother to Claridge's for lunch for her 80th birthday. A friend of mine was manager there, and we had several glasses of Dom Perignon on the house. It could have been Lambrini for all my mother knew or cared. Grin

I had a horrible day at work, being talked over and patronised by some woman. However, I was finished by 3, so decided to go shopping, and then met up with a friend for his leaving drinks (he is emigrating).

Gizehs are the devils work - a solid toe post FFS - whose idea was that?
I actually had a good day with my boss realising she has to do my PDR and asking how she can get me more money Grin

Blackduck · 12/06/2014 20:31

We are all wanting dp back (I know by Sunday I'll be cursing the washing and the mess, but remind me of this)

cremolafoam · 12/06/2014 20:48

Aw BD. Not long now. You've done amazingly to last this long with all the running and early mornings. Smile

Gizehs are indeed the work of evil elves. Toe posts are instruments of torture on my trotters. 2 for 1 blisters.Sad

beachyhead · 12/06/2014 21:10

I'm home!

I gave my ddad shorts for his 85th birthday Grin

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2014 21:12

Gizehs are really comfyConfused But Mayari's might be better for you?

BD, you have done so well with all your early mornings - hope your DP appreciates it!

Blackduck · 12/06/2014 21:17

It's the plastic toe post I hate BTM - it hurts! I love toe post sandels and wear them all the time, but not them. Have mayaris and prefer.

Hi Beachy!!!

NUFC69 · 12/06/2014 21:26

Rose, it occurred to me that if you are worried about whether or not you will be comfortable in the Birkies QVC might be the way to go. You can try anything for 30 days and if you don't get on with them send them back. You would know after wearing them for a week if you like them. You would only lose the cost of the P and P if you returned them.

DSis ended up back at A and E this morning as her arm started to go red and was stiff. Anyway they have taken a swab, given her stronger ABs and she has to go back tomorrow. DS's FiL has been discharged from hospital - in the end he had a perforated ulcer.

DH and I have had a good day: we drove up to Alnwick Gardens in my car with the roof down enjoying the sun.

I have a lovely pair of Primarkenstock Gizehs. Grin They cost me about a fiver. My feet are hard as nails, and I haven't yet met a toe-post I couldn't cope with. I wore flip flops throughout my childhood as training (remember them sold in Woolworths during the 1970s? There was a choice of blue or red).

Your poor sister, NU. My DSis came off her bike a couple of years ago after misjudging a kerb on her way to work - she wasn't wearing a helmet and made a right mess of her face (thankfully all healed).

"The Crepe of Things To Come" - very good!

Rosebag · 12/06/2014 21:58

Thank you for all the helpful tips about my Birkie quest. I will look in to Footshopping and QVC. I think my stumbling block is having not very pretty feet and balking at fuglies. Still we'll see. I have been surrounded by World Cup noise and sweaty males grunting at the TV all evening. Having spent all day administering to DH before and after his procedure at the hospital, I'm feeling very anti social. Have taken myself upstairs early for a bit if peace. Bidding you good night crepeys.

lalsy · 12/06/2014 22:18

That site has some lovely reduced birkies but what are [[http://www.footshopping.com/mobil.cfm?wgID=571&mi=6#oben]] for? Do you kneel on them for praying or something?
