Sad about how Wilbur's DD has been treated. Glad you spoke to the school and hope it can be nipped in the bud. We're so vulnerable when we sing, somehow. And also, not feeling part of the group whether sport or a band is hurtful.

Thanks WAF. There is a lovely photo that has appeared of DD on Twitter too. She's having a ball, by the looks of it. Relief.

Mother... like that CDiff is mellowing and is grown up enough to apologise…which I'm sure you accepted gracefully? (I wouldn't have…)Grin Wink

I feel a bit lifted, mood wise today. Spent a morning listening to womens' birth stories as research for my script. Very humbling and life affirming. And it seems that our theatre (local, but a professional company) is going to consider it for production. Me and co- script writer are putting the proposal together for the artistic management board on Friday.
Then met a friend for lunch who has a DS on the same trip as my DD…she's mostly worried he's not using his deodorant and being smelly Grin

Then had another go at sorting outfit for the tennis…feeling relieved that my usual size of M&S chinos do fit…now this may be because they've cranked up their vanity sizing again, or, looking on the bright side perhaps my existing ones just shrank in the wash. Anyway I bought some white ones, and this top mango
Quite pleased. Not getting on well with the Birkies…tried lots on. My feet just look awful in them. Ah well, the search continues.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2014 20:19

Great MrsS (fingers crossed for pub!)

Dress looks nice and cool, Rose. Shame about the Birkies though.

cremolafoam · 11/06/2014 20:56

Boo won't make a July meetup either as have to cart dd to airport in Dublin.

Anyone fancy a Paris meetup circa 18th August? I could/might just be passing through........

cremolafoam · 11/06/2014 20:59

Rose bag I love the MNG dress- looks cool and classy and the colour is beautiful. Fancy that myself.

motherinferior · 11/06/2014 21:09

DD2 is traumatised by sex ed lesson today. Grin She is horrified by the thought of people doing That Sort Of Thing. As in, she knew that such filthy behaviours existed but feels it's a little gratuitous to make them watch the DVD and then draw pictures.

hattymattie · 11/06/2014 21:21

Oh Crem - I'll be in Venice when you're in Paris.

hattymattie · 11/06/2014 21:23

MI - how old is your DD - I'd feel like marching in.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2014 21:24

Draw picturesGrin

motherinferior · 11/06/2014 21:27

Oh, she's not seriously traumatised. Just mildly appalled, really. She's 11 in 10 days' time. They didn't show them anything she doesn't know already. Given that she's snaffled and read rather a lot of her sister's books, I suspect it's probably the jolly openness that horrifies her most.

cremolafoam · 11/06/2014 21:28

Ah well hatty - it was just a thought!
Smile

Rudy I went to House of Fraser today to finger the violet mascara . It is divine / I'm putting it on my birthday list. Grin

motherinferior · 11/06/2014 21:30

Given that this is the child who responded to my explanation of what LGBT stood for as "well, that's just normal people"...

cremolafoam · 11/06/2014 21:34

Gotta love your dd for that comment MISmile

originalpiratematerial · 11/06/2014 23:10

Can I have a quick bit of crepey dress-buying advice please? Am tempted by dress - but not sure about the back - is it a bit much to have all that skin on display?? Said skin didn't look too bad in changing room mirror and I have a white loose-knit slubby cardi I can wear as a cover-up.

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2014 06:44

Lovely dress OPM and I'm sure your back is lovely - definitely not too much skin on show! Is it for a special event?

Got to drop DD at friends for 7.15 - friend has Physics today, so DD is accompanying her in early!

originalpiratematerial · 12/06/2014 06:52

I have been invited to a book launch - first novel by someone I know years ago.

NUFC69 · 12/06/2014 07:19

I like the dress, too, OPM. A book launch sounds lovely.

I have a bit of a hangover Sad too much Pimms and red wine last night. Nice meal which I cooked, if I do say so myself. I think we're going to have a quiet day, although I am hoping to get out on my bike later on (when the headache has gone). Forecast for the day is very good and I think breakfast outside is on the agenda.

NUFC69 · 12/06/2014 07:20

What a kind Dd, BTM. I don't think many people would be up so early just to accompany a friend.

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2014 07:39

They are really close friends and very supportive of each otherSmile Breakfast outside sounds lovely. As does the book launch!

motherinferior · 12/06/2014 08:24

Ooh, who's the writer?

Rosebag · 12/06/2014 08:48

Very classy dress OPM. Back detail is lovely. Go for it.
Mother, sniggering at your DD's response to her sex education. Isn't it funny that in a few short years they go from being appalled by sex, to thinking they invented it.
Tilly that is indeed sweet of your DD. I love it when they all band together and support one another when facing the adversity of exams. DS also has physics today. And a French paper this afternoon. Since most of the year 11s miss the school bus owing to having to be in school at odd times, they have taken to meeting at various McDonalds near various tube stations en route, before an exam. Today it's Wembley Park, I think. It's costing a fortune.
Taking DH in for a ' procedure' today. It's an annual thing he has to have. Am I mean spirited to be a bit miffed he's booked it whilst DDs away and I have a bit more freedom? I am truly horrible.

motherinferior · 12/06/2014 08:53

I'd feel the same, Rosebag.

I am going to go and write for a bit and then engage with a client who has attempted to book me for a bit of work without actually stating how much they are prepared to pay...

Blackduck · 12/06/2014 09:02

Rosebag where do you live now? (you keep mentioning places I know!)

It's sunny and I am in work - that feels wrong somehow!

Back to the early awaking again, but the day off helped - at least I know I only have to struggle through two days!

Dp, having being merciless ribbed in the pub for failing to bring me anything back from Paris last week, has bought presents this week (he's in Dublin) - he's assured me it's not green, does not feature shamrocks or mention the 'craic' Think of it, he said, as something bought in Dublin as opposed to something from Dublin Grin

Rosebag · 12/06/2014 09:23

Have PM'd you BD

cremolafoam · 12/06/2014 09:35

Hopefully dh found Avoca or Brown Thomas BD, both of which are emporiums of loveliness in Dublin.Grin

BTM I'm very impressed by your dds support if her little friend. Early mornings are non-existent in dds world .

Opm - lovely dress. And not that revealing at the back IMHO .

Rosebag- typical!

Blackduck · 12/06/2014 09:54

Cremo I can only hope......

PM'd you back Rosebag...
