Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Have you tried Zara for coats, RahRah? I've found some fab coats there in the past. Its still a bit early for winter stuff though. I will keep an eye out for you.
Just been on Kettlewell, they have some v useful basic tops in mushroom back in the sale

Ooh thank you Rapunzel, I haven't looked at Zara in a while, I will check the website. I am trying to get in early as last year I was too late.

That mushroom colour is lovely! Are the Kettlewell tops good quality? I like a few of their colours, but they're a bit pricier than my usual Next/Dorothy Perkins basics Blush

If anyone sees any lizard grey skinny jeans or trousers, please link to them! I'd be interested to see what you found in H&M too, rahrah.

Yes H and M details pls Rahrah! I found Ness v good for coats last yr - looks vvvvv good quality but affordable. Don't think their winter selection is up just yet tho...

My H&M order:

Natural white tube top
Light beige lace top
Rust red sleeveless blouse
Mustard yellow sleeveless blouse
Natural white fine-knit jumper (a bit like a ballet jumper - I couldn't resist!)
Rust red stretch trousers
Cognac brown figure-fit jacket
Dark blue top with lace trim I'm hoping this is the same teal type colour as a couple of other H&M t shirts I have.
Turquoise/patterned sports tights I have turquoise (not quite autumn) top and trainers so these will hopefully go nicely. I haven't been able to find any autumn coloured sports clothes at a reasonable price. Our local Sports Direct stock is mostly black with the occasional bright pink.

It's a big order but I find that with H&M I have to return quite a lot as it either doesn't fit, is a weird shape/style in real life or looks completely different to the picture.

Nice finds, rahrah, love the sleeveless shirts, and such a bargain. Re Kettlewell, I have ordered just one vest from them so far, which was lovely. My friend, who introduced me to HofC, swears by Kettlewell and has bought loads of their stuff. I agree they are quite pricey, but they seem to have sales on certain colours quite often. If you look at their Shop the look section, there are some helpful pics on combining autumn colours, which I found really useful.
On another topic, I've got my HofC style day next week, and am making a list of questions to ask (starting with "does my bum look big in this?", of course Wink). Just wondered if anyone else has done the style day, how did you find it and were there any questions you wished you'd asked? ta

Watching with interest Rapunzel. I haven't had mine done but am thinking about it. Can I ask a question too? I love love LOVE this fifties style dress and the backgroundooks a good light moss, but does the lighter pattern make it look too cool?www.nancymac.co.uk/collections/boardwalk-belle/products/gabrielle-dress-in-green-candy-floral

that is a gorgeous dress, ocelot. The sage colour seems to be the most dominant, so I reckon you could get away with it being autumnal. How about wearing it with a chunky geranium red necklace and matching bag/shoes, or one of your star colours?

On second thoughts, you could go for kingfisher blue accessories to pick out those blue petals. love it.

Yay! I love vintage stuff but am too curvy to pull off real 1950s frocks...Like the idea of Kingfisher blue accessories. I have been doing a bit of a hunt before autumn ( I need mulling time, me). Will post my other finds...

I'd love to hear how you get on, Rapunzel. I've got my style day on the 31st! Itching to get shopping but I must resist until afterwards!

I have my eye on this Zara coat:

Ooh Rasputin love that jacket. H and M works well for me usually. Charitized loads of stuff the other day and really need to shop for Autumn soon.

LOVING Nexts camel coat but fear I may look like an egg on legs in it as I'm short and busty!

They are a gorgeous colour Rapunzel

schmalex the Zara coat is a beautiful colour too! I think it's too stylish for me Blush do you think you will get it?

I'd perhaps be interested in a style day when I get a job but with a different person to the one I saw for my colour day. There's not much information about the different style types (I suppose HoC don't want people working it out for themselves at home?) but I found a list on a random blog and I didn't seem to fit any of them Confused my wardrobe is better since I had my colours done, at least all of my clothes go together so I can mix and match, but I still have a bit of a disconnect between what I want to look like/wear and what I end up buying/wearing. Not sure if I'm trying to be the wrong style or just not confident enough to wear the right things Confused

I will see what they say on my style day, RahRah! I always think a stylish coat is great as you just throw it on and look good even if you're a scruffbag underneath. Plus I do lots of standing around outside in playgrounds / sandpits / feeding ducks in winter.

I will report back on the style day as I don't really know what to expect yet. I just feel like I've lost my way a bit stylewise since switching from working in a smartly dressed job to freelance / SAHM, both of which only really require pjs.

Just tried on a camel cardi in Mango.

On model: amazing
On me: Dressing gown on egg!

Looking again tomorrow then. Want a cover up in my Autumn colours!

Just packed my case for style day tomorrow! I was asked to bring along up to six outfits, some of which I like and some of which I'm not sure about. this is quite timely for me as I'm starting a new part time job as a TA at a local primary next week and want to look reasonably smart (especially as the teacher I'm working with always looks supremely stylish!). Looking forward to it.
