Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Hello
What do you think on this:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201109340548
Is it autumnal?

There seems to be way less autumn coloured stuff around at the moment, unless you're brave enough for cream. With 2 small DC I'm not really...

So pleased because I went out looking for a green one and actually found one. And it was in the sale. Bonus.
Excuse phone links.

That's a great colour!

Rapunzel88 · 16/07/2014 23:08

Hi fellow autumnals. I've recently had my colours analysed and turns out I'm a deep blue Autumn. Still getting my head round it all but have already made a rather drastic hair colour change, after 40 years(!) from blonde to dark, red brown. Scared my children witless, but loving my new look.
My star colours are the deeper blue shades (navy, royal purple, heliotrope, kingfisher) and the lovely moss green, of which I currently own nothing at all and can't seem to find much in the way of. Bought this from East yesterday, although not entirely convinced it's an Autumn shade. Would love some tips for smart, casual wear as I'm starting a new job at a school in sept.

spritecat · 17/07/2014 12:03

Welcome Rapunzel. Hopefully is a blue autumn so will be of great help to you. Moss green is lovely isn't it. Not always easy to find but makes me happy when I do. Can't give you tips on smart casual as I'm really just casual.

Rapunzel88 · 17/07/2014 22:11

Thanks Spritecat. I was also wondering about my other star colour, geranium- a bright tomato red. I could see that it really suited me when I was blonde, but now my hair colour is a deep reddish brown, I'm not so sure. I know that when your colours are analysed, your hair is covered up, but is it possible that the colours that suit you the most can change if you change the colour of your hair? any thoughts, anyone?

The elusive Lizard Grey in nail varnish form here. It's called Rainy Day which is apt for where I am at the moment.

Rapunzel88 · 20/07/2014 21:12

oooo, loving that. Would never had considered grey as a nail polish option before now!

Rapunzel88 · 24/07/2014 22:27

Just bagged this fab mossy bargain from Phase Eight

Hopefully · 24/07/2014 23:01

Glad to see this thread again! Will catch up and post tomorrow Smile

Charitygirl1 · 25/07/2014 11:02

Succumbed to a few sale bargains in the last couple of days

www.meandem.com/collection/sale/pocket-t-ruched-dress-moss/products_id/1900/cPath/1153_1154_1180

And I can REALLY recommend the Me and Em Safari dress in Moss which is now a ridiculous £26.

Charitygirl1 · 25/07/2014 11:03

This from baukjen - could be a little too flesh hugging but love the style

Dur wrong link! This one:

Rapunzel88 · 26/07/2014 21:20

Love that Baukjen dress, but as you say, Charitygirl1, perhaps a little unforgiving on my jelly belly!

BabCNesbitt · 30/07/2014 14:42

Rapunzel, re your earlier question, I'm definitely no expert, but I understood that your colour recommendations are based on your skin tone, which stays the same whatever your hair colour is (and that ideally the colour you choose to dye your hair should fit with your colours, rather than trying to change them).

I wonder if your colours change much as you age, though - skin gets a little paler as you get older, doesn't it?

I have a request, if anyone has a moment, btw! I'm trying to find a basic V-neck jumper in a darker autumn shade (greens, greeny-blues, browns or brick red), no synthetics and no wool (allergic), fairly fitted (but not lots of ribbing around the belly!), nothing too drapey.

That might be too long a list of asks, as it seems impossible to find! Has anyone seen anything like that lately?

ToffeeWhirl · 31/07/2014 23:13

Have just stumbled on this very useful thread again, so am marking my place. Smile

Hello again Smile
I somehow lost the thread. Have been trawling the sales for some holiday bargains. Will post some links when I have better Internet.
Anyone spotted any Autumn autumnal interest yet?

Liking the burnt orange and old lime frocks but prob would go for over the knee hem line

ocelot41 · 12/08/2014 22:35

Think the jumper is right Three but not sure about skirt - looks like maybe too much of a burgundy?

schmalex · 13/08/2014 15:25

There are some nice kingfishery teal pieces in the new Hush collection for autumn.

Scroll right down to the bottom to get through all the grey/black!
I'm doing my style day at the end of the month and then will be shopping with a vengeance!

ocelot41 · 17/08/2014 18:35

Helloooooo! This thread has gone v quiet. Am I the only one fantasy shopping ahead of autumn? Happy to post suggestions if anyone wants to get the chat going again?

RahRahRasputin · 19/08/2014 18:04

Oops, this completely fell off my thread list.

I haven't bought much recently. A couple of bits from vintage shops and a dress for a wedding, in the Monsoon sale. It's here but the colour is more oyster than it appears in the photo. It might not be completely Autumn but I didn't have much time/budget, and I really like the fit. I'm wearing it with a gold pashmina and pewter shoes (again, not technically Autumnal but I couldn't resist them!)

I've just done a big H&M order. I got some rust, mustard and kingfisher colours. I always order everything I like as I will send so much of it back! They had quite a few autumn colours, I am happy to post links if anyone is interested. There was a lovely brown cardigan/jacket but I couldn't quite justify the price at the moment! :) hopefully they will still have it in stock when I finally finish my dissertation and get a job... Also I'm looking for a woolly type smart coat for the winter. My budget is really under £100, preferably £60-80. I have a khaki parka but I'd also like something smarter for when I have a job etc. (if I get a job, I will be able to afford to spend a bit more, but don't want to rely on that!)

I'm really picky about little details, so I spent the whole of last winter searching and didn't find anything quite right. Ideally I want it to close up to the neck, or thereabouts, rather than some of the ones with deep V-neck collars which seem like they'd be very cold come winter! I don't like military details or anything that's too in fashion as I'd like it to last at least until next year.

I know I'm hugely fussy, and I might have to compromise, so please don't go to any trouble searching on my behalf but if you see anything suitable I'd be very grateful for a link/shop name/anything :)
