RahRahRasputin · 01/05/2014 20:22

Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Super confused the Coast dress is beautiful I think it is coral, but hard to tell in a photo. The Asos one is not really my thing but pretty. Can't see the Monsoon link, but I loooooove the vintage one! I am not big boobed so can't judge it on that.
Ra Ra couldn't resist the shoes for the school run Blush I always said I wouldn't let my colours rule my life but so far I have been good

RahRahRasputin · 07/05/2014 16:16

CMP69 they're far from your face so I'm sure they'll look great Smile I have a cardigan in a slightly bolder version of that blue, it's quite close to heliotrope (33 in wallet) so I wear it.

Marking my place. I am a recently diagnosed leaf autumn, needless to say I have about 2 things in my wardrobe that are the right colour!

I found I was a bit "colour blind" in my HOC session, I really couldn't see when a colour looked good on my or not! My best friend however was brilliant at it, so hoping to drag bring her shopping with me...

RahRahRasputin · 07/05/2014 19:00

Hi Homelander I'm a leaf autumn too :) and had similar problems seeing the colours. I can now see a difference with some colours, particularly the wrong ones, but generally I still can't tell! I just stick to the colours in my wallet because that way I know everything will go together :) it's great as now I can mix and match lots of things, whereas before I had lots of set outfits as nothing went with other things!

Anyway, I'm rambling, welcome to the thread and I hope you enjoy starting to buy things in your colours :) which are you best colours?

Flying visit to share this excellent buy
www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cotton-wide-sleeve-crop-jumper/p/p60058977

Lovely soft white, very current shape so will refresh jeans and harems, beautifully soft and 100% cotton!

supadupapupascupa · 07/05/2014 20:48

sea have you tried dessy bridemaids dresses? more prom type some are quite simple.........

RahRahRasputin · 10/05/2014 19:44

These old gold leopard print Converse for £14.99 were linked on another thread (thanks DaftSkunk) and I reckon they're vaguely autumny so I've ordered some. Along with a pair of the Hype pumps I linked earlier Grin

charity that jumper is lovely.

SuperConfused · 11/05/2014 11:35

Thank you for the links! Not for the wedding, but I"m now going to order the french connection dress and the oasis jacket.

The Coast dress was barbie doll pink and horrendously unflattering, it made me get into a panic stricken mood about how much weight I've put on recently though now I'm calmer I think it was just a really unflattering cut on me. Have ordered the Lady V dress and if that doesn't work when it arrives I'm going to go with a back up maxi dress which isn't ideal but I can't face any more shops!

RahRahRasputin · 11/05/2014 18:12

Ah glad you liked them, sorry I've just realised I said I would post some more links but totally forgot. I'm a bit frazzled as uni finals start on Tuesday!

If you haven't already ordered, I found that the Oasis jacket is a little on the small side. I'm 10-12 usually, and then 12 is only just big enough, so if you're in between sizes I'd say go up rather than down :) the French Connection dress is gorgeous, I'm trying to think of an excuse to buy it, I hope you love it when it arrives!

Shame about the Coast dress, it's horrid when something looks unflattering isn't it. I hope that the new one is perfect! :)

Bumping this so it's on my Active Convos - many purchases to link when I've got time (not all of them staying)...

Charitygirl1 · 20/05/2014 07:03

Two new dresses, extravagant BUT
(A) I've not bought much this year
(B) I LOVE them and will wear them to death

www.meandem.com/collection/safari-shirt-dress-with-belt-moss/products_id/1876/cPath/1153_1154_1202

Both quite hard to find autumn colours - the blush is def not too pinky cool, and the moss is similar to the swatch's Dark Olive. Both beautiful fabrics and in my experience of Me & Em will wash very well. Am in the safari dress today for a big meeting!

The powder dress reminds me of the Victoria Beckham drop waist dress.

lougle · 20/05/2014 07:37

Hello! I fell off the wagon for a while and a new season feels overwhelming, especially as I don't really have summer clothes.

I'm going to start looking, though.

seamew · 20/05/2014 13:11

Thanks super, I love Cos (although it often doesn't love me, am quite hourglassy and a lot of their stuff is hideously unflattering on me) so that would be brilliant - I am quite tall, at least...

The me and em dresses are lovely charitygirl, they often seem quite good for autumns. That blush colour in particular is fab.

evelynj · 21/05/2014 22:20

Lovely buys charity.

Summer is hard. I need chocolate brown things but so hard to find. I did get a plain dark olive scoop neck t shirt in m&s today-so hard to find the simple things sometimes.

I also got these pj bottoms with a coral top-not exactly autumn I think but as close as I've found in a few months!

Sainsburys have some lovely mustard/chartreuse things new in & 25% off at the mo....

AllBuggiedOut · 22/05/2014 12:01

Have you got a link to the t-shirt please evelynj? Always on the lookout for good basics! Thanks.

These strappy vests from Zara are brilliant basics; think they may have more colours in store, but orange, beige, khaki, leopard all good. Am sure I also have navy, chocolate, coffee, cream...

warmleatherette · 22/05/2014 12:33

Can anyone anyone suggest a smart businessy look in Autumn colours? I'm job-hunting after a five-year maternity break and need to wow 'em at interviews, but black drains me. I don't wear skirts or dresses either so it'd need to be a trouser-suit. Any ideas?

warmleatherette · 22/05/2014 17:16

Killed the thread. Bummer.

Theoldhag · 22/05/2014 17:58

Hi Warm

How about some chocolate pinstripes and a fitted plain top in the colour such as shown in this photo (please excuse models grumpy expression), olive or teal would look fab or a top similar to the model?. Add a contrasting scarf and maybe a simple styled jacket? I would keep it fairly plain and use accessories to accent.

catslave · 22/05/2014 18:47

Quick - is this an autumn yellow?

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Smart-Day-Dresses/WH623/Womens-Flowershow-Dress

It looks quite mustardy but I find yellow very hard to judge. They used to do a great mustard button back jumper but I shrank mine :(

Theoldhag · 22/05/2014 19:02

On my wee phone screen it looks like a buttercup yellow to me.

Theoldhag · 22/05/2014 19:08

For comparison.....

Bugger. Oh well, saves me a return! Thanks... clearly I have no eye for the right yellow!

warmleatherette · 23/05/2014 03:16

Thank you theoldhag. It's been so long: the last time I was in work was in the dark days before I realised what a style sin black was. Ah, the innocence of youth...

supadupapupascupa · 23/05/2014 15:25

I have found the elusive LIZARD GREY in a dress!

wrap dress in taupe

I got the taupe and the coral...both on my colour wallet! Nice soft jersey fabric
