Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Ooh I'll have a look thanks! Both smart and casual really. Will navy work on autumn? There's a lot of it about...

ocelot41 · 11/06/2015 22:30

It isn't brilliant on me although OK on bottom half.

MarthaCostello · 02/07/2015 11:43

I wear navy tops sometimes. I think it looks OK, but I try and wear it with my best colours.

I have bought quite a few things recently...

I found a rust red skirt suit on the Oxfam website Grin it just needs some minor modifications. I also got a brand new brown Next blouse from the Oxfam website, and a rust red winter dress and a sleeveless brown silk shirt in local charity shops. I find charity shops easier now that I know which colours to look for, I used to look at every single item in my size and found it exhausting.

I bought a lovely cream silky top, which will go nicely with my suit, and a pair of cropped trousers in a light green and rusty red tile print in Sainsbury's. The trousers are so lovely and cool in this weather!

I also got the rose gold Converse. I love them :)

Poosnu · 09/07/2015 01:45

Can I join this thread? I am new to this - had a consultation last month and I am a 'blue' Autumn. I've bought a few bits in the sales but looking for inspiration.

Itscurtainsforyou · 09/07/2015 21:52

I walked past the French connection window this week and saw they have lots of camel/caramel coloured clothes.

Rapunzel88 · 15/07/2015 22:08

Welcome poosnu. I too am a blue Autumn, hope you're enjoying your new colours. I've just ordered this www.newlook.com/shop/womens/jackets-and-coats/khaki-button-front-blazer-_329037734
which, if it turns out to be anything like the pic, will be an amazing bargain. I am hopeful!

BabCNesbitt · 07/08/2015 20:41

For the first time in ages I'm actually getting pretty excited about what's in the shops this season! Looks like there's going to be a lot of stuff for autumns. Does this mean we have to shop like demons for six months and then give up for another 3 or 4 years? Grin

KittyB52 · 15/08/2015 13:00

Hello all! Just popping in to say that H&M have a lot of Autumn colours in at the moment. I've just gone a bit mad and bought a few new tops. None of them are in my HOC style (Natural Ingenue) at all, as I can't find anything Natural Ingenue-y, let alone anything that suits my shape and is in my colours. So I've gone for things that are at least the right colours, and comfortable(v. important for me Grin). Lots of mustard, gold, teal, navy, orange and dark purple/burgundy in there.

Oh, and I bought a few things in the Kettlewell sale too. Smile Again, none of it in the 'right style'.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 15/08/2015 18:05

hello Smile I am an autumn in denial, I don't know any more than that (soft/blue etc are not terms I heard in my HoC consult!) but I like grey, black and more grey and am struggling Grin

I did buy this today and love it. It's like the terracotta/poppy/brick red from HoC in real life, not the burgundy it looks here.

marking my place, I keep losing this thread.

gingercat02 · 27/08/2015 10:16

Just placemarking for a catch up, post hackergate name change Smile

Silverstreaks · 08/09/2015 08:25

I've only really been buying colourful vests for spring/summer and have replaced a pair of jeans so nothing exciting for ages. Until yesterday when I bought this green pleated pleather skirt. I ummed and ahhed in the shop but once I got it home and tried with different colours I really like it.
Fave combination so far are: purple, bright red and mustard.

It's Autumn for Autumns and the shops are stocking up - what have you been buying?

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 08/09/2015 13:51

Ooh that looks lovely Silverstreaks. It wouldn't suit me at all, so I am Envy

I love trying new colour combinations, I've found I am much more adventurous now as I can stick with colours from my palette and know that they will work.

I got a lovely mustard jumper from Sainsbury's. It is in the Gok Wan range Hmm but rather nice.

(I've namechanged too, was MC.)

Silverstreaks · 08/09/2015 16:04

I saw the lovely mustard jumper Leslie, it was the last one and unfortunately nowhere near my size. I saw the bright red Gok jeggings too which were a great colour.
I bought a navy and rust striped top with shoulder detail from Gok last year too, I think every so after there is some great stuff.

Hopefully · 08/09/2015 17:25

I have been on a total spending binge this week, I'll add links later on!

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 08/09/2015 21:23

Oh that's a shame Silver. I do find that Sainsbury's stock seems to change almost every week, and they seem to always be having a sale Confused

The Gok range is probably quite nice, I shouldn't have been mean Blush I just find him so annoying on telly that it put me off initially. I love my new jumper though. It was perfect for a cool evening at the beach over the summer, under a tan blazer.

Hopefully how exciting Grin looking forward to seeing the links.

IdentityRequest1 · 08/09/2015 22:37

Have also name changed.
I don't know where you're all finding this stuff! I'm searching for tops of more or less any description in rust, mustard, corally-orange, deep teal.
Link me!

First up I'm in love with this gap top. The vamp red is a lovely aubergine colour that will work on blue autumns. Might be a bit cool for the warmer among you though! There are several styles of top in that colour, and the orange also looks pretty good for autumns. Also bought a pair of resolution distressed skinnies - they aren't a warm blue, but the orange stitching and the distressing makes them fit in, IMO. The resolution jeans are great, I'm really impressed with them. I think there's a khaki pair too.

Also bought this New Look biker jacket - it's a kind of lizard grey/mole shade. Again probably better for a blue autumn - I'm wearing it with a lot of teal/marine blue type colours.

What else? Ooh yes, neon bag! I don't know why, but neon yellowy green works really well for my skintone, and again seems to look good with the teal/lizard grey/navy end of the autumn palette. It looks absolutely dire with my mustard jumpers though! The quality is amazing though, and it comes in a few other colours, including a red and an orange.

Also these pleather leggings, which are closer to chestnut/aubergine than to burgundy. Beware, sizing isn't generous! I am a 12, went for medium and they scarcely fit. If I wasn't in the midst of a diet to get back down to my usual size 10 I would have returned for the next size up.

I'm also planning on ordering a polo neck (probably in dark chocolate) and this mohair cardigan even though it might make me look like a Kurt Cobain tribute act.

Jewellery-wise I've just taken delivery of this leather wrap bracelet which I'm pleased with, and I'm thinking of ordering a few mantra bands, I like having a mix of metals.

Shoe-wise, I was toying with ordering these high tops, but then realised that they are wedges, so I'm on the hunt for a pair of vaguely winter-appropriate sneakers.

And, just in case any of you are knitters, I've been knitting up hats, wrist warmers and socks, and there are some lovely autumn colours in this brand! Am on the lookout for some spring colours for the DSs, but DD is getting her accessories made from my leftover yarn as I'm 90% sure she's an autumn too.

nickEcave · 09/09/2015 14:24

Just bought this gorgeous orange and cream tea dress from Apricot online.

There seem to be loads of great autumn colours in the shops this year!

Silverstreaks · 09/09/2015 21:48

You've got a good haul there Hopefully. Will you let us know how your Cardigan pans out?

Hopefully · 10/09/2015 14:08

Will do silver! Also need a couple of new scarves, but can't find anything that fits the bill atm.

Hopefully · 12/09/2015 18:08

Oh, also picked this faux leather skirt up on Friday and it's lovely. M&S in nice clothes shocker!

Twolefttoes · 13/09/2015 20:52

Just a heads up if you're on a budget, Primark have some fab slouchy soft jumpers in at the moment for £6, loads of autumn colours, mustard, tan, teal, the elusive chocolate brown, orange and a nice tomato red.

IdentityRequest1 · 14/09/2015 08:52

Hopefully, that faux leather skirt is indeed lovely!

I'm in need of a good (huge) leopard print scarf, if anyone sees one!
