Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

I'm so jealous Charity! I want another pair of leather leggings.

I have used the RIT cream/Ivory dye, I think, and it was pretty good.

Charitygirl1 · 23/01/2015 10:54

Oh I will try it!

There were many pairs left in the shop but Zara is so unreliable about stocking - what one shop has in bears no relation to another.

libertychick · 23/01/2015 19:31

Thanks Charity and Hopefully. I have a gorgeous Theory cashmere grey jumper I bought in TKMaxx just a few weeks before getting my colours done. I am wondering if i am brave enough to try dying it... I've dyed silk successfully before but haven't tried wool. I may experiment with something less expensive first. Cream/ivory dye sounds good as i have a lot of white t-shirts.

I ordered this dress today which seems to have sold out very fast.

Charitygirl1 · 23/01/2015 22:20

Blimey - good spot on an autumn pattern, they can be hard to find. I normally steer clear of tea dresses, but that's lovely.

I tried this on the other day - no good as I seemed to be between sizes but it was nice thick jersey, great colour and cheap. Also comes in Tall.

Love the dress libertychick. The Ines d la Fressange at Uniqlo stuff is so gorgeous, but not a a lot of stuff for Autumns as lots of black and dull navy (as opposed to petrol navy). hmm, def need to get my swatches out. i dont own any orange or yellow yet....

libertychick · 30/01/2015 11:26

More autumn sales shopping...

Trousers
Knitted dress
Oatmeal sweater

Waiting for the Cos stuff to arrive. I had the fuchsia version of the oatmeal sweater before I had my colours done and it's a great fit and excellent quality.

I splurged on this cardigan. It has arrived today and is really lovely. Great fit, neat but relaxed so I am justifying the price on the basis that it is a v versatile neutral basic. Although now I NEED a cream silk shirt to wear under it. I love the Uniqlo silk shirts but they don't seem to do a lot of autumn colours. Other Stories have some silk shirts. I am slightly kicking myself that I didn't get the beige one when I tried it on and it's sold out now. But the fit wasn't as good on me as the Uniqlo ones Smile

Has anyone seen any autumn skirts? I like softly flared or A-Line styles, knee length, with some nice texture like a faux suede or an interesting print - not tweed or plaid...feels like mission impossible ATM Smile

KittyB52 · 01/02/2015 21:00

Love the colour of that dress, libertychick, there seems to be a lot of it about.

I am also desperately looking for Autumn skirts - there seem to be very few A line/flares skirts about in decent colours, it's all black or grey.

Karbea · 01/02/2015 21:18

liberty lovely haul! I might treat myself to the dress.

MarthaCostello · 02/02/2015 08:23

Welcome Karbea, how are you finding it?

I managed to let the thread drop off my Threads I'm On.

I've been gradually getting various bits and pieces from the Next sale. I think I've had everything now. I've returned almost everything too! It's impossible to tell what things are like from the one tiny photo on the sale site, why they can't show the usual product pages, I don't know Confused

So far I've kept some vest tops, a basic khaki long sleeved top, some lovely green jewelled shoes, an orange jumper and a wrap dress in a blush and aubergine (ish, might be cheating a bit...) animal print pattern.

I got a lovely dark green silk blouse in the Monsoon sale too, and some ASOS bits, but my iPad is being rather uncooperative so I will try and post links from my laptop later.

What do you all wear with skirts/dresses in winter? Does the style day cover shoes at all? I'm quite fussy about shoes, and don't like anything at all "masculine". I usually wear Converse type trainers with trousers and ballet pumps with skirts/dresses, but it's too cold/wet for that at the mo, so I'm only wearing trousers. I'd like to wear heels more often, but always feel like a little girl dressing up in her mum's shoes Hmmnperhaps I'm just not the type to be able to wear heels in the day. I once saw a really glamorous lady wearing stilettos to do her a Waitrose shop and that's what I aspire to Confused I will probably wear them when I get a job and can wear office clothes Grin

I still haven't got round to booking the style day I've been promising myself for months, my health has been a bit unreliable and I'd hate to have to cancel at the last minute and lose all that money! I've been getting better at finding styles that suit me, but shoes still confuse me.

afghanda · 02/02/2015 09:41

I'm going to have a read of this thread. I THINK I'm an autumn (dark hair with chestnut bits, very pale skin, olive green eyes with brown starbursts in the centre. The eyes are the only bit that confuse me as they vary between looking muddy to looking very clear and sparkling depending on the light, and I'm aware that clear, sparkly eyes are more of a Spring thing).

Karbea · 02/02/2015 21:34

martha tbh I'm finding it really hard! I'm worried I'll end up with a totally green wardrobe.

libertychick · 03/02/2015 10:00

Ha ha Karbea I am worried about that too!

What do people think of this dress? I know it's not quite right but wondering if a Blue Autumn could get away with it?

libertychick · 03/02/2015 10:15

Kitty have a look at the House of Fraser website for some skirts that might work.

I have just ordered 3, Maxmara camel A-line, Beige and brown pattern and this Hallhuber floral pattern

MarthaCostello · 03/02/2015 13:11

Karbea I have three green things I think... A jumper, a skirt and a blouse (I don't wear them together!) my problem is more with orange Blush when I first started I went on a bit of a spree and bought lots of basics in suitable colours, then I've gradually been adding to the collection. I'd suggest not buying too much in one go, maybe start with tops (or dresses) as they're near your face? It is a bit harder to find suitable colours in the shops, but in some ways that's helped me as I have to look a bit harder and think more about what I'm buying, so then I make fewer mistakes :)

MarthaCostello · 03/02/2015 20:27

Things I kept from the ASOS sale...

red chunky ripple stitch jumper - not sure if this is totally autumnal, but it is so warm and cosy!

Motel Becka skirt

ASOS bottle green jersey mini skirt

ASOS jersey pencil skirt in red - just seen this is also available in bottle green, think I would've gone for this style if I'd known, as a bit longer

I also got a metallic pleather skirt, but can't find the link now, maybe it's sold out.

mowglik · 04/02/2015 09:51

Joining this thread, I haven't had my colours done yet (got quite badly let down by a consultant recommended on here so going to wait before arranging another) but I think I'm def an autumn - not sure of the sub sections though, I've read around on colour analysis but not seen blue, leaf etc descriptions! Is this a HOC system?

I try and stick to autumn colours but love grey, blue, pink and black :/

Expecting this today though, it will be one-off the few greens in my wardrobe

mowglik · 04/02/2015 09:52

khaki boilersuit aka jumpsuit

Hopefully · 04/02/2015 21:51

Man, I wish I could get away with a boilersuit jumpsuit. I would look like the michelin man, I suspect.

Mowglik sorry you got let down by a consultant, how crap for you Sad. We're not all rubbish, I promise! In terms of the HoC classification, blue autumn roughly translates to a deep/dark autumn in other systems, soft autumn is usually called a soft autumn, and autumn leaf is a 'true' autumn. We also have a vibrant autumn, not sure what the best analogy for that is, but basically it's an autumn who looks like a spring but is an autumn - best in the brightest of the autumn colours, but can't take the clarity of the spring ones.

mowglik · 04/02/2015 21:56

thanks Hopefully.. I think I must be a blue autumn then, look forward to seeing what other blue autumns are buying!

And as for the boilersuit, its going back! I look ok in jumpsuits but that was a step too far for me i think Confused

evelynj · 05/02/2015 17:19

Welcome mow. Wow you guys got some great sales bargains! A warning that you will need a special wool/cashmere dye not just standard dye. I tried dying a cashmere jumper but it wasn't as good a result as the cottons etc that I did in the machine.

I just received this cheap & cheerful dress from lindybop & the colour is great-dark olive-am going to wear this to my bro's wedding, (the patterned dress I had ordered was too hard to colour match-they have quite a bit of autumn stuff in lindybop. Good cut for me though will probably adjust. Generous sizing

www.lindy-bop.com/audrey-cypress-green.html

I'm after a wrap/bolero type thing, belt & accessories. Can't decide between gold, brown or another colour so advice welcome! Also anyone know any good high st or online shops to buy these things?

Rapunzel88 · 05/02/2015 17:43

Lovely dress, evelynj. I was looking for a bolero/ shrug for a wedding last year and found a great selection at Monsoon. Something like this might be nice? Happy hunting and have fun at the wedding.

KittyB52 · 05/02/2015 19:31

libertychick I love that floral skirt but it's out of stock in my size. Envy I am trying to track it down from elsewhere.

cheminotte · 06/02/2015 09:14

Marking place. I'm looking for some smart trousers for Fridays at work and a new suit. I've found a charcoal dress suit at Hobbs (link on which suit) thread but would really like skirt and/or trouser suit so I can wear other colours with them.

mowglik · 06/02/2015 10:13

evelyn I like coast for shrugs and cover ups - an old gold colour would look really nice with that dress but you'd be hard pressed to find a cover up in that colour on the high street I think! I search eBay for unusual colour items
