Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

I really panicked at the thought of not wearing a black or navy blazer, but you just have to be more creative. I'm really struggling with evening wear as everything I currently have is black.

Itscurtainsforyou · 15/03/2015 20:44

Evening wear is tricky for me too - I struggle to find styles I like, let alone in the right colours...

I have a black dress that fits really well - I dress that up with jewellery/wrap/bag in a colour that does suit me (cream/off-white, deep red, gold/light brown)

I also have a fabulous red dress (although it's a bit too bright) and a royal blue one - the red I'll wear with gold/brown or black accessories and the blue with black. The blue shouldn't work at all, but it seems to if I also have quite dark eye makeup on.

Hobbs silk blouse

very pleased with this new red blouse from Hobbs. my first red item.

Charitygirl1 · 19/03/2015 20:25

Lovely! I 'can't (ie don't suit) wear cowls but that is a gorgeous one.

The website doesn't seem to work on iPads but new one Finery London has some unusual things and good autumn colours. I bought the split front neoprene pencil skirt in rust and it is gorgeous. Khaki jumpsuit looked fab online but a bit short in the body in real life.

nevergooglebrandybutter · 03/05/2015 11:44

where has everybody gone?

hope all OK. I'm back at work, haven't been losing weight but not gaining at least.

triathlon in 3 weeks. eek!

and thanks to a nasty tummy bug I've lost 3 lbs this weekend. can't stand up thoughHmm

nevergooglebrandybutter · 03/05/2015 14:24

sorry wrong thread!

BabCNesbitt · 03/05/2015 15:29

Ah, shame, I thought someone might have new findings! I've been looking online but haven't seen much autumn-toned stuff lately - so much grey and navy and pink :/

Karbea · 03/05/2015 17:45

I'm going through a very orange phase :) orange seems to be everywhere!

JenniMoo · 03/05/2015 20:02

I have what looks like a royal purple dress from m&s. It's from the swim wear section, I'll try to find it...

It's a bit shapeless and tent like on me without a belt, but is good for summer without. The coral was no car too but see-through!

nevergooglebrandybutter · 03/05/2015 22:22

sorry about the false alarm. that was meant for the healthy eating thread that I also lost from my 'threads I'm on'

I found these trousers in h&m though. I reckon to be worn with an ivory blouse.
orange trousers

ocelot41 · 01/06/2015 22:24

Just popping in to see if anyone has spotted any autumn short sleeve tees? Pref scoop or v neck and semi fitted but not tight. Uniqlo were ace last year but this year...not so much. Help?

Traineesupermum · 02/06/2015 12:21

Newly diagnosed autumn leaf marking my place and looking for inspiration Grin

KittyB52 · 02/06/2015 21:07

ocelot, I found a nice rust-orange t-shirt in H&M. It was quite loose fitting, but not as bad as the shapeless offerings that seem to be littering virtually all the high street shops at the moment. I'm not bitter. Grin

I appear to be stuck on navy or teal at the moment. Easy to find things in those colours, but there are so many gorgeous colours in my palette, I would love to find more variety. Sad

ocelot41 · 03/06/2015 10:59

In desperation I have ordered a couple from Kettlewell. But flip, they are SO expensive! Thanks for the tip Kitty will check out H and M! The choice seems to be white/grey/black/navy, pastels or brights. Bleurgh.

nickEcave · 03/06/2015 16:37

Got this top recently in Whitestuff. They have quite a bit of stuff in nice yellowy greens.

ocelot41 · 03/06/2015 19:05

Ooh thanks nickEcave they really do have some great tops in this season. I like the burnt orange and old lime numbers too. Hurrah! I had given upup looking at White Stuff as they went through a very smocky/twee print phase and were all cool blues/pinks/greys. But looks like its worth a visit again. Brilliant! BTW can I rave about Winser Miracle trousers in warm grey for any pear shapes out there. Sooooo flattering. They may get chocolate ones in for autumn too.

KittyB52 · 03/06/2015 22:19

Ooh, check out those colours in White Stuff - YUM.

Also have a look at some of the brands available through New Look, DP and Debenhams. I have found a few nice dresses there recently:

Cute dresses Kitty. But alas am well north of 4O now and lack the legs for such short frocks!

Re the blazer issue - what's your verdict on this women?

Dansak · 06/06/2015 22:11

H&m have got loads of autumn colours in at the moment. Most of my holiday clothes are from there. I will be sitting in the shade in teal, mustard, khaki and orange courtesy of them.

ocelot41 · 08/06/2015 10:14

BTW, Jigsaw looking great this summer for autumns. There is tonnes in that would suit us! Hurray!

MarthaCostello · 08/06/2015 11:46

I've not bought much recently, am trying to wait until I have my style session (if I ever get round to it...)

Sainsbury's seem to have quite a few autumn colours in again this season :) also saw a few bits and bobs in M&S.

I've ordered some jeans from Next. They're not in a perfect colour (blue/black), but I love the style (relaxed skinny) and hopefully they'll be alright with nice colour tops.

I've had a few charity shop bargain finds recently - brown Ralph Lauren cashmere cardigan (£4.99), brown cowboy boots (£10) and a brown woollen Next trouser suit for £12.50. I prefer skirt suits, but it is reassuring to have something ready for when I start job hunting :)

I struggle with shoes, both style and colour. Do they cover shoes on the style day at all? I tend to wear jeans and Converse type things, mainly because I can't work out what to wear with my skirts :(

Talking about Converse, I love these rose gold metallic snake ones Grin

Itscurtainsforyou · 10/06/2015 13:47

Hi there - I'm trying to pick out some "base" colours. One is definitely chocolate brown. I'd like the other to be warm beige/cream but there's no way I'm wearing beige trousers the size of my arse So I'm trying to figure out what to go for (and what I can find in the shops).

There's a muted/moss green around which is ok - would that work? I like deep red/burgundy but not seen much I like.

My problem is that I don't wear skirts/dresses or skinny trousers as I don't like my legs. So it's wide leg or bootcuttrousers only that I need, narrowing the options even further...

ocelot41 · 11/06/2015 19:13

I hear you! Are you looking for smart or casual? I did another thread raving about Winser Miracle trousers (in between a straight and wide leg). I find the warm grey works pretty well with autumn colours - but not v summery! Gap also do good Broken in Khakis
