Really lovely, SoyYo.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/05/2014 16:40

Hi SoyYo, welcome! Lovely jackets, the first one is very Rick Owens :)

I have a chocolate muubaa that I got from Cocosa years ago and it is very soft. (It ended up being free, long story Grin)

ps. To do links you need to double up on the :)

MarshaBrady · 13/05/2014 16:44

Decam great to see you. Love the Kors, I nearly got them but didn't as I already have two Kors that I don't wear as much as I should. I should sell them really. But those are lovely.

Blair argh at Aldo.

Shop yep I think the outnet is great, it's so fast at getting the good stuff it's still in sync with the season.

Soyo fab jackets, and welcome.

Linus fab t

Amber great!

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 16:51

Thank you Ladies. and for the links tip Blair!
I was in real need of a boost (fashion wise) and was bored, bored with my wardrobe which needed a bit of a rocknroll kick ...and despite my ancient stage in life (ahem!) I did my (online) research before settling for Muubaa, I am seriously impressed and so glad I did!

Will watch this thread and tips with interest.

OneLittleLady · 13/05/2014 17:02

Lovely jackets SoyYo and welcome Smile

shopafrolic · 13/05/2014 17:04

Welcome SoYo
I have a chocolate Muubaa biker, lovely and soft - unfortunately not free (I wish) - they are both lovely

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 17:11

You are all so kind! TY.
I am in my early fifties (gasp!) and had to slap myself when I started looking at Country Casuals!! DH says I look good in them, so there is some fashion savvy left in the old girl yet Wink
I am developing a dangerous liking for all things made of buttery soft leather now!

maradesbois · 13/05/2014 17:46

SoyYo welcome. Love your jackets, great purchases & sounds like you'll enjoy wearing them a lot more than country casuals!

blair that's rubbish about Aldo, really don't understand bad cs like that. No wonder they've lost your future custom.

liberty I didn't wear earrings for a few years then just forced them in one day and was fine. Have 2nd and 3rd holes further up that have completely closed though. Your new haircut sounds lovely.

Re colours I can't wear purple or have it anywhere eg paint/soft furnishings. Not sure orange would do anything for me either but do like it. Love red though.

shop agree that outnet is fab atm. Have just been persusing the Mary k stuff but although gorgeous still too £££ for me too.

Decameron · 13/05/2014 17:50

Oh yes, Liberty, I have my ears pierced twice, forced a second earring in one ear a while ago and it was a bit sore but fine.

Really rubbish CS from Aldo, Blair.

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 18:21

Decameron, for the white T you might like to have a peep at the white company, they have 20% off at the mo and usually their stuff is simple but good quality cotton, and mine have washed well/keep their shape/last for ages.

www.thewhitecompany.com/clothing/white-tshirts/

...wondering if she has learnt to link now Hmm

Topazandpearl · 13/05/2014 18:22

How could I have forgotten Leggs Decameron, it was where DH and I had our first snog! I also was a regular in the Pav - sitting on the steps in the summer sunshine was just the best.

Welcome SoyYo, lovely jackets.

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 18:33

Oh btw I did also order and returned the following Muubaa Tureis from Asos
www.asos.com/Muubaa/Muubaa-Tureis-Laser-Cut-Leather-Biker-Jacket/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3764717&SearchQuery=muubaa&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Black

It was also lovely but in the end I couldn't decide how i would style it, maybe a little bit ott for work (as I was keeping the biker for play), and couldnt really justify 3 Muubaa purchases! (i did say I was developing a dangerous liking for buttery leather Blush)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/05/2014 18:44

You'll be onto bags next SoyYo! Wink I do prefer the 2 jackets you kept.

Meant to say lovely shoes Decam great outnet bargain.

MarshaBrady · 13/05/2014 18:47

Mara I'm the same with interior decoration, I can't have purple anywhere. So all the colours here are green / soft grey / creamy and light blue based. I find it calming and find dark purples etc the opposite!

I really like this Sophie Anderson bag am I nuts?

LinusDKD · 13/05/2014 19:01

soyo welcome! Great jackets!

blair that is shocking! I haven't bought anything from Jack Wills because of their bad CS last year.

dry I really hope the dress suits me. I don't really mind white clothes, even with small DC. If all else fails I just soak them in some water with a bit of bleach.

marsha I love that bag! It makes me smile and the colours are so cheerful.

Drywhiteplease · 13/05/2014 19:01

Ooh I love purple in interiors...am planning putty and purple colour scheme in my new bedroom when it's built here and gazing whist fully out of the window and I've already bought the chandeliers! mara and marsha you can come to the opening in September aversion therapy Grin DH vetoed my duck egg blue colour scheme, he hates blue in rooms Hmm

QueenC I know you like a black jumpsuit....SchoolGatesStyle has loads today, v tempted indeed even though jumpsuits are something I swore I'd never wear

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 13/05/2014 19:04

lol Dry Grin love the gazing out the window shot and all of it, very rich and plush.

Linus me too! I'm not buying it yet, but it had better still be there in the sales.

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 19:06

Blair, LOL!! No I am not a handbag person though I do own a few, don't go for flashy styles or labels specially, just good quality leather (it is becoming a bit of a theme I know!) and classic styles.

I do travel a lot with work (hence not a frequent MN talk visitor) and last month I picked up this very plain, but very functional and minimalist bag at Heathrow in brown (much cheaper than online), perfect for freeing up hands for laptop/hand luggage:
www.radley.co.uk/pocket-bag-large-cross-body-bag-12179/
Looks a bit boring but it is perfect for travelling.

LinusDKD · 13/05/2014 19:15

I don't mind aubergine/eggplant but that last picture is too purple for me dry

I do like a bit of duckegg blue how much more middle class can I get?

marsha I am going to start editing my S/S wishlist into sales wishlists per brand so I'm all set for the sales.

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 19:18

For play though I love Desigual leather handbags. I have one I picked up in France a couple of years ago that makes me smile every time i use it, cannot find it anywhere to link to but if you know desigual you will know what i mean.

But every time I take it out to play it makes me smile, Marsha you might like to consider if you are into colourful (but more affordable) handbag options?

MarshaBrady · 13/05/2014 19:40

Good idea Linus me too.

Soyo that sounds very pretty thanks, not sure I can do desigual although some do on here with great aplomb!

Which reminds me, Novice how are things? Not too stressful I hope.

And also Liberty, I can do the weekend now, so Shop and I will be milling around close to you. Will pm exact location Grin (anyone welcome to join us btw)

Fedupnagging · 13/05/2014 19:54

Hi SoYo, fab jackets.

Think I'm a winter so yellows, oranges, beiges etc make me look washed out unless I have a tan. I wear a lot of purple and grey together and love the purple and taupe combo Dry.

Your hair pictures are lovely Liberty. What products do you use to keep hair shiny and not frizzy? My hair is naturally curls a bit like that when the layers are cut properly but always looks so frizzy. GHD's are my friend!

Looking forward to you holiday links Amber.

Great bag Marsha, very quirky.

Drywhiteplease · 13/05/2014 19:55

Oh my goodness, where are my manners?Shock welcome Soy ...fabby links! you can stay Grin
linus too purple? I even have the sleigh bed! Next MU in my bedroom followed by boozy BBQ in DHs shed Wink book your tickets now!

Didn't anyone notice the phrase that has never ever passed my lips fingers? before " I have enough dresses"?!!!!!! Must be the red wine/rain/ sick guinea pig/ fact that I'm driving the smallest courtesy car ever!!!!!! good god I have problems

OP posts:
SoyYo · 13/05/2014 19:58

Marsha, at my age I only wear what makes me feel good and with aplomb! Wink
@ work it is sober Hobbs/and sometimes some G.Webber type stuff, but @ play I am shall I say a bit eclectic? Illustrated by this old desigual black coat with hibiscus flowers which I have had for years and found in old ebay link
www.ebay.com/itm/Desigual-Womens-black-and-red-Hibiscus-Flower-Print-Coat-36-/261409108582
I also like Desigual because it is fun, affordable and being of Spanish descent I find their clothes fit me perfectly.
But I understand it's not for everyone.

or maybe I have lost the plot altogether, another recent purchase for summer hanging around with friends at home/festivals was this
www.gudrunsjoden.com/uk/2014_summer/category/blouses-waistcoats
It is a bit mad but in a really nice mad old lady kind of way. I am looking forward to my sixties! Grin
Lovely chatting to you all ladies, will keep an eye on this and future threads.

SoyYo · 13/05/2014 20:12

Fedupnagging, thanks for the warm welcome though I fear I have lost all my street cred with the crazy links I have just posted!
I just LOVE clothes, but don't get a chance to post often.

On curly hair, I have masses of curly, long hair (a bit like the interior design lady I cannot think of her name, but mine is brown/auburn lowlights).
Best thing for curly hair is lots of nourishing/hydration, no silicones, a good diffuser (ionic) hairdryer and Boots pink curl cream, nothing can touch it in my opinion! Leaves curls completely frizz free and silky, use it on wet hair straight out of shower. I gave up on hair straighteners a long time ago. But even if you straighten your curls the Boots pink stuff is magic and practically pennies for defrizzing curls without silicones.
