Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

Hi all.

Glad you had a good holiday, Queen.

DH had no idea what I buy and I try to keep it that way!

Anni, great outfit. I love a bit of pink. Really like the pink version of the tote bag you linked, Mara. Yellow is so summery.

Have just been skimming, can't remember all the links but great sunglasses, Shop and that bag is perfect for you, Amber! Sleep, that dress would look amazing on you.

Blair, I have a couple of AH coloured bags (red and lilac) which have lasted well. I am careful with my bags, sounds like you are too.

Linus, annoyingly the Burberry trench is now sold out in a 10, just as I have enough money together. I am wary of buying online as the coat I ordered from them last winter was way too big. I am going to the flagship store on Sunday (as DH told me to take a few hours off for Mother's day, I don't need to be told twice!) to see if they have it. I have seen another navy Burberry I like if I can't get that one.

Shopping: I replaced my black Gracie I lost, bought this grey M by MJ Natasha which I love, and my friend bought me over silver gigis and a white silk Equipment shirt from the US. I ordered skinny Current/Elliotts in the House of Fraser sale yesterday but think I will return as it is reducing my Burberry fund!

Drywhiteplease · 27/03/2014 16:52

Afternoon all!Grin

Ooooh Amber stop it.....have just ordered the navy FCCcoat, lovely.
Queenc DH has given up understanding my relationship with clothes....I just say "it costs money to look like this you know"
Maralovely bag! I most certainly would never by a Smythson brightly coloured bag on impulse Wink long story
Sleep buy the dress ! BUY THE dress! It's so you. We could always have a dressed up MU
Anni love your jeans and really like the look you're channelling.
Umlauf you crazy bag lady Grin are these people insane? Shock
One am I getting a reputation for wearing statement necklaces? Thanks for thinking of me.Smile
Ok in 2 weeks I'm off to Italy. Can't bloody wait. Sight seeing. Reckon bf jeans, blue gazelles, lots of different tops and perhaps Amber's navy coat. Very excited. must not go bonkers with pasta/pizza I need to get in the red dress

Dry did you give up on Life After Life?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/03/2014 17:05

Oh wow Dry whereabouts are you going? Very jealous, I love Italy!

OneLittleLady · 27/03/2014 17:29

very jealous Dry i'd love to go to Italy! Would struggle to get travel insurance though due to medical issues, need to start looking into specialist insurers so I can plan my jollies around the world!

I'll get you a pic of the necklace up as soon as I find my camera Dry it's gone walkies!

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 17:44

Envy dry I'd love to go to Italy again. I've only done Naples, Florence and Rome.

I'm off to bluestone next weekend. Doubt I'll need much wardrobe planning except jeans, trainers and cossie.

dry I've pm'd you. Train tickets are available to buy for 5 July. Still too expensive for me ar £55 so hoping that they get reduced.

Decameron · 27/03/2014 18:05

I hope you get there one day soon, One. I lived there for a while, amazing country. Don't forget your coolest sunglasses and Gucci bag, Dry!

Forgot to say, I like your new jacket, QueenC.

SS14102 for £10 off at Me & Em, I think it expires end of March. I ordered this, not terribly exciting.

Sleepwhenidie · 27/03/2014 18:22

Stop encouraging me!

We are off to Italy at half term (end of May), big villa 40 mins outside Rome, I can't wait Grin, for those of you who remember my disastrous Costa Brava trip same time last year I have been more involved in choosing where we go this time glosses over the fact that it is costing twice as much.

LinusDKD · 27/03/2014 18:46

I agree sleep get that dress, it is so you!

Well done on the Erdem stokey! I hope it looks great on you!

decam I am going to try and find that Burberry mac in a shop here to try it on as it is just too perfect.

mara that Smythson tote is gorgeous.

The yellow Nano I bought last year must be the least practical colour I own so I am a bit more careful with it than with my other bags. I did have a slight heart attack when I saw some blue marks from my Jimmies but a quick wipe with some baby wipes got most of it off.
I don't wear the bag with denim now anymore which is a shame.

Drywhiteplease · 27/03/2014 18:49

Decam don't mention sunnies. I'm kicking myself because I hesitated about some v reduced Gucci s glasses on SS last week and have now missed.
We're "doing" Pompeii etc, staying just outside Sorento. I've always wanted to go (Capri, Herculaneum, Vesuvius etc) so I'm really looking forward to it.

Blair I use a bright orange Céline little trio every day and it's about hmm 3 years old. It is scuffed in places, but I don't know if that's the norm. I agree that a leather one will last longer, but bright ones are so nice, I do think it's worth it.

Umlauf love that orange segment clutch! Clutches are all the rage atm.

Anni that FC is a great buy.

Italy is lovely, I went a couple of times when I was younger, due for another visit I think.

LinusDKD · 27/03/2014 19:02

Oooh dry that takes me back to when I was 17 and we did a tour of Italy with school.

We visited Pompei, Herculaneum, climbed Vesuvius and visited the impressive archaeological museum in Naples. We weren't allowed out at night in the South of Italy (still quite dangerous 20 years ago) but we did in all the other cities (Rome, Florence, Assisi, Sienna,Venice etc) we visited. Good times!

Drywhiteplease · 27/03/2014 19:05

I went to Venice for our 10yr anniversary/40th birthdays and did Italy when I inter railed as a student, but never this part.

shopafrolic · 27/03/2014 19:31

We did Amalfi, Capri and Ischia on honeymoon. And I've done the Italian Grand Prix taking prize winners. Want to see more. My food blogger friend lives in Rome so I'm hoping to get there soon.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/03/2014 19:33

Thanks Marsha and Linus! Am feeling encouraged re bright/light bag now.

Dry and Sleep both trips sound fab. I LOVED Rome and would go back in a heartbeat. Went there for DP's 30th and just had the best time. Did Pisa/Florence last year. Pompeii and Vesuvius sounds great, I'd love to visit the south too, oh and Venice.

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 20:53

I'm a little tipsy Grin. Impromptu date night at home with dh.

So, the question for tonight is....do any of your real life friends know of your secret mumsnet vogue life?

OneLittleLady · 27/03/2014 21:00

Nope, no one but DP knows QueenC in fairness though, I don't see friends very often as everyone's busy with work and family so I spend a lot of time on my own

libertychick · 27/03/2014 21:02

Good question QueenC. I have told a couple of my close friends that I have made some new friends via MN but I haven't mentioned this thread specifically.

Drywhiteplease · 27/03/2014 21:15

DH obv knows...you are "the fashion ladies".
One friend knows I'm on MNV another knows I'm on MN.
Apart from that I don't mention it difficult because I'm rubbish at not talking about stuff...you may have noticed . I often refer to "fashion blogs" and when I came to the MU I went to a "school reunion" because I didn't think anyone would get that I was travelling such a long way to meet strangers it was so worth it.

libertychick · 27/03/2014 21:20

AR order arrived today.
this is great, much nicer than the photo - a keeper
This is going back, terrible shape on me, shame as it's silk and I love the pattern
Love this but somehow missed that it's 100% poly Will send it back...
In terms of shape, colour, texture etc this is sweatshirt perfection BUT again, I missed that's it's 100% poly so I don't know what to do. I love it on but worried I'll just sweat like crazy in it - WWYD?

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 21:21

I ask because carrie popped up on my facebook page as someone I may know. Turns out that she is friends with an old school friend of mine who I have just been to Marrakech with Smile.

Decameron · 27/03/2014 21:22

No. DH knows I meet friends from the old Wise & Avid thread, he calls them my penpals, he was quite worried when I went to meet them first that I was lonely! One of the W&Aers lives near my dad and I've been out with her when home together with school friends, but we went to the same university so explained it that way. I didn't think they'd get it, didn't want people reading my (very boring) posts or knowing how much I spend. Also have a friend from DD1's birth club whom I met on mnet almost 6 years ago, who is also from Dublin, she lives fairly close to me in London.

Decameron · 27/03/2014 21:23

How funny! Small world.

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 21:24

liberty I'm naturally a very sweaty person but I wear polyester and I have never noticed that I sweat more in it than any other fabric. I tend to sweat for emotional reasons (embarrassment, stress etc) so doesn't matter what I'm wearing.

Decameron · 27/03/2014 21:25

You could wear a cotton top under the sweatshirt? I say keep it if you like it. It looks good.
