Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

That's so cute amber. Sadly I'd look like an overgrown toddler whereas you'd look cool Grin

Stokey · 27/03/2014 10:01

Lots of catching up - I got the Erdem, very excited, will let you all know how it looks (and get you to accessorise it for me)

Love that Tory Burch dress Grumpy and gorgeous blue bag Blair

The Burberry trench is great too, actually not so £££ for what is a classic and would last for years. If I ever get a bonus...

& Amber's bag is amazing too, hot pink Flamingo, what's not to love?

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 10:05

I've just ordered the uniqlo down jacket in grey. I had to discuss the purchase with dh last night (we have agreed he has decided that we will discuss all purchases with each other before buying). Discussion...
Dh: why do you need it. What did you wear last year?
Me: I can't remember
Dh: well then, you don't need it. Wear your waterproof
Me: a waterproof??
Dh: do what you want, you will anyway.
Result! Grin

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2014 10:07

Morning.

So glad you got it Stokey.

The flamingo is fab.

20% extra off style steals Matches. Nothing really there for me anymore but you never know.

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2014 10:08

lol Queen - good one.

maradesbois · 27/03/2014 11:17

Morning everyone,

stokey really happy for you that you got the erdem, it's gorgeous so hope will be a keeper.

blair completely agree with you re buying us brands on your hols - you know it makes sense! The reed Krakoff is lovely, fab colours too.

queenc dh and I have been invited on a trip to Marrakech later this year, what would you recommend to take wardrobe-wise? It's only for 4 nights and no dc so will be able to justify evening outfits too!

My item from wishlist would be this smythson tote. Was really tempted to get it for this summer but thought maybe a bit frivolous as have loads of bags. Still tempted though and need to pay a visit there soon for dh's boring briefcase birthday present so will weigh it up!

maradesbois · 27/03/2014 12:02

Have just ordered from asos for first time ever, inspired by marsha's jumper shopping! Went for the following:

James perse tee

av tee

av sweater

Will see if any good, if so would like a new daytime dress and some white jeans then all done for summer - in theory!

OneLittleLady · 27/03/2014 12:05

Dry I have a largeish statement necklace in bronzes, turquoise and amber colours. I thought it might be perfect for you? I'll try and get a picture up for you to look at and it's yours if you like it. It's the wrong colours for me much as I do like it.

Sleepwhenidie · 27/03/2014 12:19

Doh, was just about to link the Erdem dress for Marsha and catching up I see that Stokey has it! gorgeous!

Sleepwhenidie · 27/03/2014 12:21

I love this but it's not exactly versatile! I have nowhere to wear it....

Sleepwhenidie · 27/03/2014 12:23

That tote is lovely Mara, have been eyeing it myself...fabulous colour options.

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2014 12:26

Oh I love that Sleep are you going to get it? You should!

Mara good one! I am so tempted to get some more tops like that, love all the ones you've chosen.

Stokey · 27/03/2014 12:26

Nice tees Mara and love the Smythson Tote
Reminds me of the yellow Marni bag that I keep toying with but think suede is just too impractical with toddlers and leaving bag on bar floors..

Couple of nice sweatshirts on Matches style steals - a palm print one and this Preen one

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2014 12:27

And I have that tote too on my wish list. It's gorgeous.

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 13:25

mara how exciting. What time of year will it be? It got up to 28 degrees on Monday but the sun feels so much stronger than here. I'd recommend keeping shoulders and knees covered up although there were people around with shorts and spaghetti straps. You definitely need comfortable footwear as you walk for miles around the souks (I've even managed to lose weight Grin). We didn't have any need to hugely dress up as it's a fairly chilled out city. There may be some posh places to eat but we certainly didn't encounter them. Also we were so knackered and frazzled once we got in from a days sightseeing/shopping that getting dressed up was the last thing on our mind. It really is the most full on amazing sensory overload of sights, sounds and smells. Our shawls and scarves were the best things we had with us- keep off the morning and evening breeze and can be used as headscarves in the afternoon heat. Pm me if you want anymore details. I could talk about it for hours othetwise Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/03/2014 13:49

mara lovely asos buys, hope they are all nice. The yellow of that tote is my favourite colour :)

Amber wins on the impractical item - love it!

So with all the bright bag talk, this is probably a good time to ask - how do those of you with light or brightly coloured bags find them day to day? I'm used to having a tan bag in textured leather that gets chucked about and doesn't show marks. If I were to buy the RK bag I linked and use it every day, would I need to constantly worry about looking after it?

It wouldn't be a huge issue as mostly my handbag goes from the foot of my stairs to the front car seat to a table in my office Grin but I don't want to drop £800 on something I can't fully enjoy using.

Stokey · 27/03/2014 14:03

Went to the Cos sale Blair - bit of a scrum on Regents St and mainly large sizes left.

But did buy this nonsale yellow jumper Have never bought anything yellow before but thought it actually worked on so have biten the bullet.

I have two cobalt bags Blair - cheap things, one light & one darker - but have no marks anywhere on them despite me taking little care of them.

QueenCadbury · 27/03/2014 14:30

blair all my coloured bags have mostly been fine. My stone one that I used in Marrakech though does have blue dye on from rubbing my jeans which has never happened begore so I wonder if it was the heat Confused

santamarianovella · 27/03/2014 14:32

Amber* I can really see you wearing it,

sleepgorgeous dress,

mara I too have been admiring the smythson tote, beautiful colors,

blairas much as i love bright colored bags,I try to stay away from them,I would want them to last as long as possible, and im not very gentle with my bags,
one of my friends bought a Philip LIm bag,in a very light colour, and it looks now like it has been rundown by a truck!but she did buy it during Black Friday sales,so the loss isn't that great,
, I also heard that light balenciaga bags, are a pain to keep clean, and the get stained with denim marks easily,

Annianni · 27/03/2014 14:48

Loving the links.

Amber definitely wins the impractical pin thing.

I need to share my new love with you being very brave and posting a photo on here... well I tried to post a photo but it wouldn't load, so i've put the sodding thing on pin for everyone to see...

J brand Caleb boyfriend jeans that I ordered from US ebay a couple of weeks ago.

Another pic here, not me in this one, obviously!

They need shortening a bit (rolled 4 times in my pic) but I love them.
They are nicely fitted at the top, then super slouchy on my leg.

I'm chanelling this look today, which was my favourite from last summer.

I've acquired this grey sweater which is nice and very me.

I'm debating keeping the navy

And I also got this vest
As much as I love the Me+Em vests, I can't justify £30 a vest at the moment.

Umlauf · 27/03/2014 14:57

Was it a Chloe bag that blair said looked like a washing machine? I give you Italian brand, Braccialini! Retailing at 200 euros each, the iron, and the, erm.. washing machine!

Love the flamingo amber, "mingo" was my first word!

Annianni · 27/03/2014 15:03

Oh dear god... they're awful Umlauf :o

Someone asked about macs and spring coats a while back...
I've been wearing this
It looks nice with jeans.
I tried it last year (there was no way I was going to pay £££ for a cotton coat) but for £39, it would have been rude not to!

Umlauf · 27/03/2014 15:07

love this!!

Great shopping anni the navy is useful if you don't already have something similar.

amber has the clarks bag arrived yet? nags, sorry Is it nice?! Considering ordering it in time for my trip to my parents' next week so I don't have to pay intl delivery. Oddly enough, Clarks is seen as a very flashy brand where I live, we have a Clarks and the prices are 3 times the UK prices!

queenC I have the same discussions with my DH. Its ridiculous! If it isn't a pair of jeans or a sweatshirt he can't understand why it might be needed!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/03/2014 15:42

Haha at those bags Umlauf! A bit too literal there maybe. Oh and it was a Celine!

Great jeans Anni I have to roll mine 4 times as well. Yours look really good with the pink shoes and I love the pin.

Thanks everyone who said about coloured bags. To be honest I think no matter what colour I end up getting, I probably won't put it down anywhere for the first few months, then after that I won't mind so much!
