Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

Dressing for comfort not style as I'm absolutely wiped out, I've come down with some kind of energy sapping virus. DP leaves for NYC in the early hours of the morning so it'll just be me and the cat living it up Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 10:48

What's he bringing you then One? Wink hope you have a restful weekend and feel better soon.

Agree Umlauf more cotton dresses ought to be in the shops in a couple of months for the summer. It's just annoying they're always hidden amongst the poly and viscose.

OneLittleLady · 28/03/2014 10:54

Converse for a start Blair and also some converse for DS's birthday which is coming up. I'm also sending him to Sephora for me for some little bits for my sisters and some friends

BrandyAlexander · 28/03/2014 11:13

Morning! I am going to be one of those mothers who goes to every school production and cries while her husband shifts away from her totally mortified.BlushBlush

A rare day with only internal meetings (you would not believe the insane week I have had) so doing dress down Friday. I have powder blue j crew cashmere knit with black theory trousers and Armani beige jacket. Elizabeth Cole swaroski green bangle and my new R&B shoe boots. Handbag is my PS13. I have to confess to loving it all! I am always rubbish at smart casual so v pleased with myself on those occasions it goes well.Smile

I am also pleased as I am posting off pension contributions cheque today, isa contribution is done and charity contribution done so dh can't be cross with me on finances for a change! I feel all cleansed!!!

shopafrolic · 28/03/2014 11:25

Has anyone ever had a good result with a spray tan? Certain bits of me look darker than others..... good thing i'm only going to the evening do of the wedding! The colour itself is good, just a bit uneven. Hmm
Nails painted, eyelashes tinted. I've tried the outfit, just got to keep fingers crossed that DS settles for the babysitter as we need to head out at 6.30! I'll have to do my make up this afternoon and an early bath for DS, and then sling the outfit on at the very last minute...... So excited for my lovely friends. Lots of old work colleagues to catch up with too.....

Annianni · 28/03/2014 11:46

I've come down with a vile cold, feel awful and I'm shattered.
Got a can of diet coke in one hand and a packet of strawberry laces in the other :o
Ds2 loves them

I've never had a spray tan Shop, I used to use St Tropez a million years ago
Does it take time to develop, or is it an instant type?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 11:58

I never have either shop, but think I'd assume it would even out over the next few hours/days... I'm sure it'll look fine!

& Other Stories have mid season sale on.
Bargain blue cashmere
Nice snake print top for the Winters among us
Cute little leather crossbody

Didn't realise delivery was £6 though! Hmm

Hope you feel better Anni, sounds like you've got the essentials there Wink

Umlauf · 28/03/2014 12:16

Oh no, get well soon anni and one

I'm trying to pack wrestle with ryanair baggage allowance for a week in the UK with DS. It looks cold Sad I already packed my really wintery stuff away.

shopafrolic · 28/03/2014 12:22

Had it sprayed last night and it developed overnight. I just had such white legs it wasn't a good look. Will use cream next time I think. It'll have to do.
Feel better One and Anni everyone still full of cold here - it's rotten.
Umlauf safe travels. 9 degrees in herts today, so yes, still chilly.

LinusDKD · 28/03/2014 12:26

Hugs for one and anni!

shop I only had a spray tan once about 8 years ago as a trial before my wedding day and I did like it. People commented on how well rested and good I looked Hmm

I didn't have one in the end for the big day as I was a bit concerned about it rubbing off on my wedding dress.

Maybe you can exfoliate a bit where it looks a bit patchy?

blair that cashmere is lovely and a very food price.

QueenCadbury · 28/03/2014 13:08

Ugh blair that snake top made me literally shudder. I hate snakes Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 13:25

Oh dear sorry Grin

Umlauf when are you coming and whereabouts to? It's going to be super warm tomorrow and Sunday in the south - 20 degrees in London apparently :) not sure about next week but crossing my fingers.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 13:29

Topshop cotton midi dress, looks nice.

Sleepwhenidie · 28/03/2014 13:34

Yuk, seems the tummy bug DS2 had on the weekend has made its way, via ds1, to me. Not a pleasant night Sad.

DH and a few of my RL friends know about you lot Queen, partly because I have found my trial clients through MN and also explaining the MU's it was just too much hassle to make something up, I am also a crap liar!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 13:34

Nice denim dress 100% cotton from Warehouse

Sleepwhenidie · 28/03/2014 13:36

I regularly do my own (subtle - I think Wink) self tan Shop (I have so much skin on display at gym etc I feel much better with a bit of colour). Have it down to a fine art now, I prefer my own results to those of a spray, not to mention the cost!

Stokey · 28/03/2014 15:08

Umlauf it's going to be warm (not compared to Barca but by London standards), we're planning a barbie!

Missed the Erdem dress - rather annoyed with DHL as they texted me at 11 to say it was out for delivery today, and by the time I got back from ballet with the dds at 12, it had been & gone. & next week got to take dd1 to eye hospital on the day I work from home, may just have to rebook & hope it comes in the morning.

No-one knows I'm on this thread, although Dh knows I read MN.

Novice your outfit sounds lovely, and good work on all the sorting. I have a week to top up my ISA before end of FY, really shld do it today but have been snuggling on sofa with the dds instead. Shld do pension as well but interest rates are so rubbish, it barely seems worth it.

Umlauf · 28/03/2014 15:22

That is nice blair although what's broidery when it's at home? Is it a new fashion term for an embroidered/Broderie mash up, or was a confused intern responsible for uploading the website content?!

We're just going to my parents in Kent, so hopefully it will be nice then. I'm thinking if I just take my camel long wrap coat which is very warm, then I'll be okay with just one layer underneath, like a chambray shirt or a sweater? DSs stuff is taking up most of the suitcase space!

Fedupnagging · 28/03/2014 15:47

Yippee it's Friday! Am currently lying on my bad catching up with MNV.

Sorry you're not feeling great anni and one. Hope you feel better soon.

Only dh knows I post on mn. I might mention a ' blogging site' if I repeat something I've heard from here. Not sure what I'll say when I come to the MU but as I go to london fairly regularly there should be no awkward questions!

Shop is the spray ran looking better now? I have had a few, some better than others but they all looked better the next day. Have a fab time tonight.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2014 15:52

Hehe Umlauf I think the second one! Yep that should be warm enough.

Am going to stay with my mum this weekend for Mother's day, haven't seen her since Christmas. Probably won't be on again tonight so have a great time later Shop.

Fedupnagging · 28/03/2014 15:58

Picked up these in grey the other day - for £15, yes that's £15, in a shop off Covent Garden. (Brand new). I love a bargain especially as a shop locally were selling them for £125 last season.

shopafrolic · 28/03/2014 16:49

Friend has been round and says tan is ok and I'm just being hyper critical - nothing new there then! :)
Rush now to get DS fed and bathed early while trying to do make up at same time so catch you all tomorrow.
