Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from part 1 here and part 2 here

Do you want to know more about what a winter is? These resources are good places to start here and here.

Scared to try bright lipstick? Previous winter favourite makeup items include Mac Plumful, Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie and Red Velvet and Revlon gloss in Bordeaux. They are all good places to start without being scarily bright for a newly diagnosed winter. More makeup tips can be found here and by reading through previous threads.

Hmmm... Not sure. Cool winter isn't a house of colour description it might be a sci-art (American system) or colour me beautiful. At the HoC they give you a swatch book with all the winter shades and then rate the colours individually on them.

Going back to eyeshadow, what are people using? I have a cheap Revlon purple palette plus BB bone, but think they're not quite right.

Oh no Sorrels dress search has introduced me to the Coast website! Love the look of lots on there. Anyone know what the fit is like? I'm only a bit taller than the model they use so dresses look an OK length but just wondering about things like waist position which is often too high for me in high street stores.

Love this cobalt top for going out.

Sorrel- I didn't properly realise how awesome the Coach Legacy Duffle is until I saw your post. It's amazing. Did you get it in Bicester? We are driving past it tomorrow on the motorway and I'm sorely tempted to get DH to let me stop there.

SorrelForbes · 02/08/2014 21:02

Yes I did, it was only a few weeks ago so I expect the shop in Bicester will still have it. Worth every penny.

Sitting at Hampden Park watching the athletics and posting in between events!

Sorrel- how much was it? I might call on the way and ask if they've got it.

Your evening sounds more exciting than mine. It's our last day of holiday before we get the channel tunnel back in the morning. I'm in a glam ibis in a silent room while DS sleeps and DH has a drink in the bar.

It was £199 plus 20% further discount that day (which I bet is still available).

We are stood in a 2000 deep queue waiting for a shuttle bus back into Glasgow!

Thank you Sorrel for the Coach outlet tip. Your bag was in stock but in the end I went for the Park Leather hobo in indigo and silver- it was £159! £9 over budget is pretty good, I think!

Darn phone! Thanks Sorrel! Although now I'm in the car I'm looking at it and panicking that the colour isn't clear enough as I didn't have my swatch book with me!

Hope you finally managed to get home safely! Any more athletics or shopping for you today?

Been watching with interest ladies Grin. Weirdly, as you know I spend way too much time in charity shops, well today I saw the therapy hof dress! It was a 10 so too small I think and perhaps a bit more autumn than winter in rl. V funny though. It was brand new...
Those coach bags are delicious.
Person who asked about eyeshadow, I use a superdrug mua one in a palette. Think it'd called glam? May fav colour is a blacky burgundy. I've tried a few mac and some greys but this is my favourite.
Any tips in what gamines wear?

Report
QueenCardigan · 03/08/2014 19:54

Aren't gamines structured rather than loose baggy clothing? Possibly quirky details? Not entirely sure but amber on the twentymumthing blog is a dramatic gamine.

I bought this nail polish on Friday as it's the nearest I've ever found to damson. Just tried it on one nail and as one coat I love it, 2 coats is a bit dark I think.

I also had a perp in next and there were literally 2 emerald things that immediately caught my eye amongst all the other colours in the shop. Will link in a minute (too many links and I lose my post)

I've ordered this. I already have a green cardi but it's not quite the vivid emerald that it should be. The black trim puts me off this though so it may go back.
