It's been a while since I set one up so thought I'd do the honours.
For glass half full fashion fanatics. Bring a positive attitude, a love of clothes and lots of lovely links. All welcome, from high street to high end.

I love Devil Wears Prada for so many reasons:

  • Because I am a "before" Andy with wild hair and frazzled look from going into work after my very sweaty, exhausting yoga practice, but dream of being an "after" Andy with great makeup and Chanel clothes.
  • Because the book was a rubbish, vindictive rant but the film was great and managed to subtly poke fun at the author and her sense of entitlement.
  • Because: Meryl Streep. Say no more.
MarshaBrady · 23/02/2014 12:11

Love it too. Especially the opening NYC scene. They all look great.

Thanks Mara going to check out nespresso.

I pretty much always see some one I know in the supermarket, especially on a Sunday, and I was thinking I bet I don't today because I have a tan. And lo I did Grin.

We were bouncing around at 4.30am, am feeling highly spaced now.

santamarianovella · 23/02/2014 12:19

Bridesmaids win hands downs, never get sick of it,not to mention I always break into song when the Wilson Phillips preform.

mara the yellow is gorgeous, very vibrant.

Mignonette · 23/02/2014 12:28

Hi all!

Because don't bother reading TDWP sequel - it is CRAP.

My Websters didn't fir leaving my heel precariously hanging off the back. Don't understand because my stilly's in the same size fit perfectly!

Marsha Glad to see you home safely. That is a movie marathon.

Am going to see 'Nebraska' when it is on here, 'American Hustle' for the super gorgeous suburban Jerry Hall look, 'August Osage County' 'Prince Avalanche' and the one about the folks running a micro brewery.

Gave an ironic laugh at that 'Vogue Editors' shoot and Bailey's belief that their work force is somehow more democratic and less 'gels in pearls'. Yeah right- has he checked out the surnames on the mastheads lately? Violet Henderson is no ordinary girl from and ordinary family, Emily Sheffield is hardly comprehensive material - in fact most of them are the daughters/cousins/granddaughters/friends etc of those same girls in pearls.

OneLittleLady · 23/02/2014 12:33

Hello all!

Pleased with today's outfit though it's very clashy. Cream and grey large houndstooth print skirt and a grey and burgundy striped, long sleeved fine knit crew neck jumper on top.

QueenCadbury · 23/02/2014 14:10

It's almost like spring today. And I've just seen a frog in the pond! Wore my boucle jacket today instead of the barbour but not sure I like it anymore Confused. It just felt wrong but I haven't worked out why yet. Think it's the colour so I may see if I can sell it as I'd prefer a grey blazer I think.

Am hoping for a lazy Sunday afternoon to read Style and the JL magazine. Dh wants to do hoovering together Hmm. Seriously. That man really does love his dyson.

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2014 14:13

lol Queen sounds romantic. I forgot to get the ST Style, drat.

Mig I know. Hideous book. Still I suffered until the end Confused.

shopafrolic · 23/02/2014 14:38

How do you Hoover together? Surely it's a solo act?

Hi all! Had such a great day.

Marsha sorry I didn't see your message earlier about outfit, I didn't have time to check the thread at all. In the end I wore teal/black nikes, dark skinnies, teal maxmara coat, M&S burberry rip off shirt, navy jumper, red RM crossbody bag and navy fedora hat.

The event was fun. Would be a great place for a meetup (maybe next year?!) as they had a prosecco bar and lots of pop up shops of London labels and others. There was some confusion with getting in as it seems the tickets the Outnet sent me were only for the catwalk show and not entry/goody bag, but they let us in anyway...!

The catwalk show was good, they showed 4 trends styled with things from the outnet (metallics, lace, florals and sports) with about 14 models in each.

And someone took my photo for their blog (not one I'd heard of, and for all i know they were photographing everyone!) Blush So, a lovely day!

Ok, off to read back, don't want to clog up thread :)

shopafrolic · 23/02/2014 17:55

Glad you had fun Blair - outfit sounds ace. Which trends did you think were most wearable?

Marsha we also have Nespresso, just one of the little machines without the milk frother. Agree with mara there is loads of choice and it does make lovely tasting coffee!

Thanks for the list QueenC. Loads of people today were wearing clumpy ugly shoes, I don't get it myself.

mara yellow clutch with navy and white sounds gorgeous for summer.

Cannot believe it's Sunday night already :(

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/02/2014 18:05

shop probably the florals and lace, metallics always seems a bit in your face and hard to pull off to me, and they always style "sports luxe" with massive heels which again I don't get. But since trainers are in, then that probably makes it a bit easier at the moment!

Oh, and there was also an Iris and Ink shop. It was too busy to have a proper look, but some of the knitwear looked and felt very nice. Also the dresses. I've never bought any of their stuff but might be tempted now.

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 18:10

Evening!

Phew, busy day with extra active DC! DD is trying to copy DS so I think we have a tomboy on our hands.

Glad you had a great time blair! Sounds like a lot of fun.

marsha we have a Nespresso as well. Very easy and doesn't take up much room.

Last week they installed a Nespresso vending machine for capsules in our local shopping centre. It's this enormous transparent cube and looks quite cool.

mara I wear my yellow nano with navy, white, grey and denim and with my personal favourite, cobalt

mig shame about the shoes!

Reset Pinterest and it works again. Very strange.

Ordered a few things this weekend, will link later.

A big glass of Wine awaits!

shopafrolic · 23/02/2014 18:12

Interesting Blair - I wonder if I&I will be coming to a high street near us sometime in the future....... I love their knitwear although the sleeves are always too short for me.....
Hate the Sunday night feeling and I don't even have a real job anymore
Sleep are you back yet? How was it?

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 18:38

Ordered this on Asos and am tempted by something else but it is £££ so I need a code. Anyone have one?

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 18:39

And this which I saw on a beauty blog called Lily Pebbles

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 18:53

And just ordered this

It's hard to find acid yellow clothes so I have high hopes for this tee.

Mignonette · 23/02/2014 18:55

Good evening all

Here's your Sunday questions- or some of them -

If you could restyle a celeb/well known person, who would it be and what would you do?

If you could design your perfect garment or accessory, what would it be and what would you do?

Mignonette · 23/02/2014 18:57

Linus would you object to my ordering one of those Hush T's? They are THE perfect acid sorbet shades for next season- delicious looking!

SecretSquirrel13 · 23/02/2014 18:58

MArsha bean to cup is the best for good crema.
Mig I'll have a think and be back later.

Drywhiteplease · 23/02/2014 19:11

Mig celeb restyle would be that woman who presents the Hotel Inspector......she wears some very odd clothes.

Accessory or garment....haven't a clue, will have a ponder. I've been looking for a long pendant necklace in burnished(?) gold for ages, with a cluster of pendants, and that doesn't tarnish...perhaps I'd design that.

Blair your day sounded fab, wonder which blog you'll be on, the outfit sounded great.

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 19:12

Actually mig I would mind! I want to be the only person in the world with that tee!

Je rigole! Grin

Very tempted by the other colours as well but not sure the lavender would suit me. Maybe not icy enough.

Will think about your questions.

First person who springs to mind is Fiona Bruce. Stop wearing those '80 suits when your presenting the news and that horrible dated jeans/leather jacket combo when you are presenting that programme about fakes in the art world (forgotten the name)

LinusDKD · 23/02/2014 19:14

Garment would probably be the perfect coat.

Being small, coats are usually too long or the proportions are off so it would be nice to design the perfect coat.

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2014 19:34

My suitcase just got delivered! Amazing.

Blair great outfit, sounds like fun.

Secret interesting.

Mig tricky one, will ponder.

Mignonette · 23/02/2014 19:48

Linus

You nearly had me Smile I'm VERY gullible at times. The lavender looks like a cold tone as opposed to warm and as long as you match it with other cold tones, maybe it'd work?

Great answers so far!
