Morning.

justa I really like that pink Zara jumper. Looks like a pink that might suit me and it is more cotton than polyester.

Like the way it's been paired with pale pink trousers.

Topshop Baxters are skinnies but not too skinny. I have a white pair (bought in last summer's sales) and I can't wait to start wearing them once the weather gets better. You have them as well dry, no?

Topshop Leighs are really skinny but I like them nevertheless and I think I look good in them might be deluded

Umlauf · 04/03/2014 08:17

onelittlelady saw this a while back and thought of you! Bowie scarf

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 08:40

So this arrived just now and I'm a bit dissapointed.

The colour in the picture is a lovely acid yellow but IRL it has more of an acid green look. And in the video on the Lily Pebbles blog it's more of a yellow as well, that's why I ordered it.

I HATE when that happens!

But maybe I just have to try it on when I'm more in a S/S mood and combine it with different skirt and trousers.

Turquoiseblue · 04/03/2014 10:49

Justa - I love the skinny /straight cuts too - looks best with ballet pumps and brogues IMO. Here s my lowdown Grin
MIH Oslo s are straight skinny leg and asos have them at the moment in sale (I think) they re lovely soft denim and wear well- probably my faves TBH but they do give a bit in the knees.Worth checking out.
I have TS baxters and found the quality variable - one pair were fine - great fit wore well lasted ages but found another were baggy at knees and bum after a few wears - they re going on eBay this week. It s like the denim was different compared to the other pair - wouldn't stop me getting them again but I d just watch the stretch in them when trying on initially.

Paige also do a straight leg - I have a pair but not sure what the style name is .....they re great too.

Oasis cherry are also skinny and have actually lasted me ages and ages now I think about it, plus put up with much less gentle wear and still retain skinniness (no baggy knees / saggy bum) and the colour hasn't washed away (after a Year I keep going back to them)

J brand cigarette leg are a nice straight skinny cut too again wearing well

Maison scotch - their jeans have v little elastic but the cut is fab for me, their straight leg skinnies (Parisienne) are really brilliant - but sizing is small I have 3 different sizes of jeans i wear from them. However if you can get a pair to fit they really retain their shape and fit and colour. Need a trying ok session though.
7fam , goldsigns, and CE didn't work for me - but might have been the styles I tried
Yes my wardrobe is 70% denim / jeans Grin and I have uncontrollable denim buying urges

Wil be watching with interest on other replies............

OneLittleLady · 04/03/2014 10:53

Umlauf I love that scarf, I've put it on my wishlist!

QueenCadbury · 04/03/2014 11:04

justa I've just bought the gap high rise skinny and I hate skinny jeans feeling restrictive. I haven't worn them yet (I'm still not sure about the high rise) but they don't feel too tight. I think gaps legging jeans are the super skinny ones. I also wear gap real straight.

It's interesting that people rave so much about top shop ones. I've only ever bought maternity ones from there and I found them awful. They literally grew so much that they were falling off. To be fair though that was about 8 years ago Grin

shopafrolic · 04/03/2014 11:05

linus your link takes me to the home page. For a minute I thought you were talking about the Hush neon tee and had a minor panic. Horrid when things aren't what you expect.
Justa I have Paige straight legs - high rise Hoxtons which I really like for fit but I still feel weird wearing a straight leg instead of a skinny TBH.
My favourite skinnies are definitely the Goldisgn Lures but that's an expensive habit to have.

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 11:21

Oh, it's the neat rib sweat in 'yellow' shop.

I really hope the Hush tee is like the colour on their website, otherwise I'll be really pissed off.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/03/2014 12:04

Morning all

Just a quick one as I don't think anyone else has mentioned it - the Whistles 25% off has started today and lasts until the 18th :) I can't find the code anywhere online and haven't seen the mag but I'm guessing WH25SS14 maybe?

santamarianovella · 04/03/2014 13:01

supermarket chic is in a whole new level thanks to Karl. the coolest chanel fashion show ever, I really want to that chanel shopping basket for my weekly shopGrin

shopafrolic · 04/03/2014 13:30

Blair I got an email from them this morning but there was no content other than the title so I don't have the code. Sorry.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/03/2014 13:40

Yeah, me too shop. I guess they want us to buy the mag. Not sure if there is even anything I want... yet! Wink

Lol santa that's crazy! Loving the beautifully coordinated aisles of products.

shopafrolic · 04/03/2014 13:41

Linus ST mag and some others are on their way to you x

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 14:05

Thanks shop!

santa Karl's shopping trolleys suspiciously look like the Carrefour ones I have pushed myself. How vulgar! Wink

maradesbois · 04/03/2014 15:06

Ha ha linus they do look like Carrefour trolleys but I always thought they were more 'haut de gamme' (if that's possible for a supermarket trolley?!) than the ones we have in the uk. Seems like Karl thinks so too!

Reading the jeans posts with interest. Denim is something I've always been a bit stingy about spending money on & stick with topshop but may have to invest in a premium pair once I lose this elusive half stone. linus , saw you mention a fast day, can I ask if you are doing 5:2? If so how are you finding it? I tried it for quite a few months but wasn't great for me, did lose a little but didn't have the energy for the gym on fast days so have decided to stop and just make better choices.

Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2014 15:08

Yes linus I bought the white baxters last summer, can't wait to get them on again with my Gigi's .

queenC I'll be Cat in the Hat on Thursday Grin

It was light when I got up and light at 6pm, spring is here Grin

maradesbois · 04/03/2014 15:19

Hello again,

Please can I have some menswear advice if that falls within the remit of MNV? I want to get dh a document holder/briefcase as a birthday gift and have been looking online at this one and this one (in navy). If money were no object I'd go for the smythson but don't think it's twice as nice as the other one. Having said that its an important birthday and dh who is impossible to buy for is starting a new business venture and know its something that would get used. Any thoughts/ideas welcome especially from those of you who are London based and may have seen them in the flesh. Thanks.

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 15:54

I really like the Smythson but how about this one

Maybe a bit more sporty/casual looking so it depends on what your DH likes.

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 15:56

this is nice as well but maybe not briefcase enough and more suited for traveling.

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 15:57

another one

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 15:58

Mont Blanc

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 18:38

Sorry mara only just saw you asked me about my fast diet.

I have lost about 6.5 kilos so far but haven't been very good these last few weeks so haven't lost more. I am doing it properly again this week so I can lose so more weight before our beach holiday in April.

For me it has worked really well as it is good to know that if I have a tough day, I can eat normally the next day.

On a fast day I have no breakfast (not a very breakfasty person anyway), soup for lunch and a small meal (e.g. Whatever DH and the kids are having but without the carbs or a ready made meal of about 300 cals) in the evening. I do have one coffee that day, lots of sparkling water and sometimes a diet coke (naughty)

But I do have to admit that I don't go to the gym ever on fast days but I have just taken up swimming again and so far, so good.

Have you read the book? They do touch upon excercising on fast days.

LinusDKD · 04/03/2014 18:44

Love this dress

But unfortunately I need, ahem, a bit more support in the boob area nowadays.

Am I the only one posting this afternoon/evening? Wink

MarshaBrady · 04/03/2014 18:51

Gosh that's good Linus, well done. Must feel good.

Afraid it only goes to homepage.

OneLittleLady · 04/03/2014 18:51

I'm in in the middle of a video chat determining whether or not he's getting a specialist gaming laptop for Christmas! I never knew they were so expensive!
