It's been a while since I set one up so thought I'd do the honours.
For glass half full fashion fanatics. Bring a positive attitude, a love of clothes and lots of lovely links. All welcome, from high street to high end.

Excuse my youth! But who is bette ? Wink

Mignonette · 03/03/2014 19:50

Thank you Santa - await photos of batty looks from the cobbles of Mittel Europe (does itcount as Mittle do you think?)

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2014 19:57

Santa Bette is a singer/songwriter/sidekick of Barry Manilow/big breasted diva/ star of my all time weepiest
film/star of some truly atrocious comedies/ about 68 /on a par with the likes of Liza Minnelli etc

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 19:58

I think it's still part of Western Europe mig

Bette Midler santa!

Wind beneath my Wings? The First Wives Club? The Stepford Wives?

Clementinematilda · 03/03/2014 20:06

Hello apologies for gate crashing but am looking for some advice please and for obvious reasons do not want to start a bag thread. Am looking to buy a paraty in black but is it worth holding off to see if they are reduced in the sales or is that unlikely? I ask as bought a tan Marcie last year with a good discount in the sales but unsure if I was just lucky. Thank you

Decameron · 03/03/2014 20:14

You might pick one up in sale previews, Clementine.

Dry, you are hilarious! I agree it is a travesty Leo hasn't won an Oscar yet.

I found a pair of bargain taupe Ash boots as an alternative to black while I wait and see what happens with the house etc. Extra 20% off with the code LATENIGHT on sales items. www.coggles.com/boots-clothing/women/footwear/ash-women-s-jessica-ankle-boots-taupe/10795113.html?autocomplete=productsuggestion

BrandyAlexander · 03/03/2014 20:17

I didn't realise either you were talking about that Bette either!

Before I shuffle of the thread or get shoved off, I have just had a report from the headmaster at the village school that my charity is supporting. Included in there was this paragraph: "I took delivery of the clothes that you sent to us and we are very grateful for the kind gesture. I must say that you put smiles on the faces of many young women in the community, especially the youth. This is how I shared them. After thanking God for your life and saying a prayer for you I prayed over the items. I then made a list of ladies I found to be very much in need, I invited them home individually and with the help of my wife they were assisted to select one to three pieces according to their level of need. Then after praying with them I would say to them; this is a gift from someone who loves you. It is your Christmas gift.
Each person who received the gift was overwhelmed. Some of them even knelt down and asked me to thank you for them." I feel all warm and fuzzy Smile. Not just because young people are wearing mine and Shop's clothes. No sirree! Wink

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2014 20:22

How lovely Novice that reminds me, I still have stuff to send to you. I'm in the midst of another clear out so there may be more to add to what I've already collected. We also need to work out how best to send them down to you as I'm not sure royal mail will take them. Any ideas welcomed Smile

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 20:25

Hi clementine I'm no Chloe expert but I can imagine the black ones are quite popular.

That is such a nice message novice!

santamarianovella · 03/03/2014 20:32

I knew who she is but couldnt resist it Grin loved her in stepford wives.

mig they will be cool with it!

clemintine I have a black paraty, bought it full price, but I've seen one in selfridges sale, black python,I think it was %40 off, are you a matches customer? You might get on with code if you are fast enough, they sell within minutes.

BrandyAlexander · 03/03/2014 20:35

Thanks One. Linus it is lovely isn't it? :)

Hello Clementine ---- I have been saying that the Paraty is my next bag for about 8/9 months but errm if you follow the thread at all, you may have seen that i have been errm somewhat distracted by other bags. Ahem.

Anyway, the paraty is never on sale in black from what i can see and i tend to get preview/early emails from Selfridges, NAP, Matches and Browns. I love the Marcie in tan, absolutely love it and if i didn't have it already in the salmon pink, that would have been a contender for my next bag too. Do you find it heavy though or am I just a big wuss?

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2014 20:40

I love the bag talk but they are so far out of my reach they might as well be in space. It's tough when you have expensive tastes but moths in your purse. Still, I think I look pretty good on a shoestring budget so I don't feel I ought to complain. Especially after the message Novice got, I know I could have it so much worse than I do Smile

QueenCadbury · 03/03/2014 20:41

Hello clementine, can't help about the bag I'm afraid.

So, it's a Monday night and I feel ever so slightly pissed Grin. Dh and I spontaneously decided to share a bottle of Rioja. There are just too many links for me to catch up on so I'm not even going to bother trying Grin.

dec grey and navy boots are bloody hard to find. I'm still searching for the perfect navy pair.

santamarianovella · 03/03/2014 20:44

Oh My god, dry I did it! ,be gentle with me! Grin

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 20:46

Naughty santa!

I'm on the wagon tonight queenc (fast day) so have one Wine on me.

Maybe not a good idea to watch Mary Berry make all those delicious things on the telly.

novice I leave your bosom for just a couple of hours and you're already clutching someone else to it. Envy

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 20:54

Novice that's fab. Love that someone is enjoying wearing those things who really needs them. Hope you saw my PM.
Early night for me, today has been exhausting on here!

Novice You are inspiring my lovey. . I have things for you too and if they ever want stationery I have a contact in a well known stationery chain who might be able to help. Let me know.

One I luffs you. You deserve nothing but happiness.

santamarianovella · 03/03/2014 21:24

one you look better than half the people I know, you know what suits you,and you have your own individual style, which is something so many people lack Flowers.

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2014 21:32

Santa what did you do? Bit slow here

santamarianovella · 03/03/2014 21:36

look there, you know,

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2014 21:43

thank you both Mig and santa I wasn't fishing for compliments, honest, but they nice to have anyway. I know things will get better, there's always a bright side if you're willing to look for it. Also, it's new stock day in the charity shops tomorrow so will see what I can find Grin

justasecond · 03/03/2014 22:29

Evening all!
You lot have been busy today. I need to go back and look at all the links properly. In the meantime, here are 2 new additions to my shoe wardrobe
www.zappos.com/coach-malika thought they would look good with black slim trousers which I don't have and indigo skinny jeans which are worn out I need to replace
loafers from M&s. I don't usually get on with M&S shoes but they are surprisingly comfortable.

Turquoiseblue · 03/03/2014 22:38

I love cate blanchette's speech, and her earrings

justasecond · 03/03/2014 23:00

Here is some stuff I am thinking about
next navy trousers although I never get on with next sizing.
cos looks about a million times better irl obvs.
zara long shirt maybe with a jumper or short sleeve sweat top over.
zara jumper looks like a cool pink, not sure it will suit me.
Also new balance 410 trainers, I know Baaah I really like them but not sure I can carry them off. Its not exactly cutting edge in my neck of the woods.
I know this has been asked many times before but can anyone point me in the right direction of some dark indigo skinny but not skin tight jeans?

Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2014 07:47

justa my perennial jeans dilemna! I have opted for styles described as "slim", *straight cut", "cigarette leg". Skinny jeans are skintight, that's the point. I found mine at 7Fam, Gap, Warehouse......but am now going for a skinnier fit too.
Don't know if that helps.
