It's been a while since I set one up so thought I'd do the honours.
For glass half full fashion fanatics. Bring a positive attitude, a love of clothes and lots of lovely links. All welcome, from high street to high end.

for shop

That is quite a coup for Vogue, getting Suzy Menkes on board.

The more I look at pictures of Jared Leto, the more he freaks me out.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 12:37

Love that Linus. I've still got the camo sweatshirt sitting in my shopping bag on the J Crew website. Have had sizing advice from their customer services etc, just can't quite hit buy when I know it would be 1/3 less in the USA........ But it is SO me......

Hi, just trying on the F&B boots, perfect grey, heel etc but I feel guilty as we are in the process of borrowing more for a house. Think I'd better return them. But they are fantastic.

I like Elsa Peretti a lot too (but don't have any), QueenC.

Shop I really resent J Crew prices here!

Liberty, have a great holiday.

Dd1 is tall and thin too, H&M is ok for tops but the trousers are too big. I get her Gap jeggings, Boden for dresses, Petit Bateau, sometimes Next. Alex & Alexa in the sale.

Those are some cool boots decam. Does foxy have the same?

Maybe umlauf and I should start a business ordering J Crew things to order at continental prices and then send them to you. Wink

queenc DH bought me an Elsa Peretti necklace and bracelet when DS was born. I love the bracelet but the necklace is a bit trickier to wear.

liberty sounds like you are having a great time!

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 13:33

Make me sick then Linus how much is the camp sweatshirt for you? here

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 13:34

I'm back with my High St swag-

A petrol blue and white Breton with long sleeves and leather (ette) elbow patches from H&M - very long and skinny arms on it meaning the elbow patches are actually somewhere around my wrists Smile so i have to push them up a bit!

A white sweater with blue Breton stripes- boxy and slouchy at the same time from H&M.

One acid yellow fluffy sweater (bot NOT cruel Angora) from Next of all places.

One bluey pink v neck T from Great Plains.

One pale yellow v neck T from Great Plains

Those super cool ponyskin acid yellow and black beaded flat sandals from Clarks (so happy!).

One white invert front pleat tulip skirt from Topshop in a shimmery padded winter white from Top Shop.

I don't need all these clothes for my trip tomorrow and Weds do I Blush?

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 13:44

We'll need links mig!

shop the jumper is about £55 but I do need to pay p&p (about £7)

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 13:48

Still a con isn't it Linus? Rubbish. I may have a solution offered to me by a fab Voguette. Watch this space......
Mig good haul - any links? Love the Springlike colours. Have a good trip.

I'll have a look for some or I might sneak some photos of my outfits in the corridors of power Wink.

Debenhams had the worst display of shoes EVER - talk about TOWIE tarts trotters. Ugh.

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 13:55

How much is it for you? (It automatically gives prices in chf for me when I click on your link)

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 13:59

£68

OP posts:
Decameron · 03/03/2014 14:16

I can't open your links Mig but all sounds great.

Unfortunately yes, Shop, £365. They were low stock so doubt they'll have my size by sale time. I'm looking for grey or navy boots. Not easy to find. I also tried Ash Jalouse in wood ash but they are too brown.

Bonsoir · 03/03/2014 14:30

OK: shopping report Smile

Tried on various pairs of jeans and ended up with the Frame Le Garçon in a mid-wash. Yes, they are great! Thank you so much for the recommendation.

Having got the jeans I could then get shoes and ended up with two Blush pairs of Philippe Model running sneakers - in this model, but different colourways - one the same metallic look but in pale pink, and a second pair in camouflage/beige/orange, with orange soles.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/03/2014 14:30

Lovely boots Decam, I hope you can find a way to justify keeping them if they are exactly what you want!

Mig you have been busy, great shopping! Lol at "TOWIE tarts trotters" Grin

shop the outnet must have listened to our feedback!

The camp/camo (Wink) sweatshirt is very cool but the J Crew prices are so irritating. I'm going to the US in May and will be taking a wishlist...

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 14:43

mig love the skirt! Looks a lot like my black H&M one.

Those sneakers are great bonsoir! I have never heard of that brand.

Bonsoir · 03/03/2014 14:47

I'm googling them too, Linus, but cannot find the exact models I bought! Similar, though. They are more expensive on the internet than in Printemps (unusually!).

Annianni · 03/03/2014 15:01

Yay! Glad you like the jeans Bonsoir.

LinusDKD · 03/03/2014 15:04

Have you had a look on polyvore, they have a lot of styles.

I love these

A bit too £££ for a not quite sneaker convert.

How's the sizing? Might have to see if I can find a shop that sells them here...

BrandyAlexander · 03/03/2014 15:13

Eeek, glad everyone has semi-kissed and made up. Privacy has been a subject close to my heart over the last few days. Here is my perspective...

MNV really took off about 15 months ago and over that period of time, regular posters have developed trusting relationships with each other and it's a lovely happy thread. It's very easy to forget that there are other people reading. Chanelgate made it very clear that others are reading, noting and judging and made it a rather uncomfortable time for MNV regulars. There was some other weird stuff going on as well, increased the level of discomfort. We just chose not to talk about it on here. I have seen time and time again that when people are incensed about something or just plain dislike you, boundaries go out of the window. For some of us, that would threated our livelihoods, so no, sometimes it's not just words on a screen.

Lots of new people joined the thread since Chanelgate, which was lovely, but it's somewhat natural to focus on negative things (everyone thinks that we are vacous people who look down their noses at everyone) rather than the positive things (new potential friends!). Sadly, Chanelgate it's made pre-Chanel posters less brave and more cautious, which obviously has a detrimental impact on new posters on the thread.

Anni is right when she says that we have personal pictures on her Pin board. Some of us have also used it to discuss personal problems and dilemmas which after Chanel gate, we just wouldn't feel comfortable opening up to lurkers (I mean proper lurkers not those who post on the thread) and those proficient with advance search and excel spreadsheets. However, I echo what QueenC says....it is a tad impolite to refer to Pin when it is not open to all. I do think that we have been lovely and inclusive in the past, and we can't say that we are inclusive if we keep referring to Pin. I think it right that we all stop referring to secret boards on Pin because I would like everyone to stay and for the thread to remain a happy one!

While I have the floor Grin, one of the things I like about the thread is the variety of stuff. I know very few people who gad about exclusively in designer togs. I could afford to, if i wanted to, but variety is the spice of life. My find of the year from last year was the 15 warehouse top that either QueenC or Dry linked here, and my current favourite are the me&em dresses that Amber recommended. They cost 34 in the sale and look and feel amazing. Anyone pointing me towards stuff like that will have my undying gratitude Grin. As you were....

Annianni · 03/03/2014 15:14

'it rubs me the wrong way that you seem to now give me permission to post here'

FFS Because get over yourself... I said you were welcome to post here, as I have said to lots of people.
I wasn't giving you 'permission' absolutely anyone can chat on here, it was supposed to be a safe place to talk about clothes, beauty etc... Without the sneering comments that appear on other s&b threads.

You started with the sarky comments.
You kept asking for access to the group, even after I said it was nothing to do with here.

I can't be bothered with this anymore.
If anyone wants me I'll be on Pin.
yes I mentioned pin on here... Shoot me now!

(Apologies to Marsha, Shop, Queenc and anyone else who doesn't like non vogue posts)

BrandyAlexander · 03/03/2014 15:16

Eeek, I posted too soon. Blush.

Could I distract everyone again by saying, I am looking for a short waisted jacket? Ahem.
