It's been a while since I set one up so thought I'd do the honours.
For glass half full fashion fanatics. Bring a positive attitude, a love of clothes and lots of lovely links. All welcome, from high street to high end.

Oh yes, absolutely pouring here too.

Mignonette · 02/03/2014 22:49

Hi all -

Linus if you PM me your address I'll stick the next ST Style supplement in the post to you. I desperately miss the NY Times Sunday edition that I sometimes bought from the stand on Regent St so empathise with you!

I didn't get a chance to buy a paper today as my son moved out and so was very busy.

Liberty I'm not going to talk you out of McGillis style as I think you'd totally work it- you have lovely hair not far removed from that curly, slightly forties side parted bob she had. Have a lovely holiday. Pissing down here.

Are we all meeting here tomorrow for our Oscars evaluation session? Apparently it is pissing it down in LA and the red carpet is more like the Red Sea.

libertychick · 02/03/2014 23:18

Damn, I am out of wine. better go to bed.
Defo up for an oscars session tomorrow.

Mignonette · 02/03/2014 23:23

The way to go is Honey Rum Liberty Smile T'is nectar of the Goddesses.

The first dresses are appearing on twitter but will leave till the morning when we are mostly all here.

night night x

Good morning, ladies. I've only taken a quick peek before running off to yoga, but my general impression is a big fat MEH except for Lupita who looked divine in the most beautiful shade of blue.

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 06:35

Lupita looks the best as usual. Amazing colour on her and soft no sheen, great choice.

Am very pleased Cate Blanchett won, completely deserved. But Leo should have too (no idea what that MM film is). Not many Wolf st winners, too many Gravity.

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 06:50

Least keen on Anne Hathaway.

If Leo had won, it would have been my too favourites actors Cate and Leo. Not keen on MM.

QueenCadbury · 03/03/2014 07:36

I've had a quick look at dresses and lupito and Jennifer Lawrence get my vote so far. Will look properly later. Still pissing it down and I'm about to do my outdoor circuits class after school drop off Confused.

WhattoWearNow · 03/03/2014 07:43

Morning - just rushing in to say some lovely bargainous biker boots here but only one size 4 left. Think Novice mentioned how nice a pair of bikers would have been for the rugby.
These are similar too.

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2014 07:58

Meh from me too....Liza Minnelli was wearing pjs!!!!!Shock

Mignonette · 03/03/2014 08:01

And Liza forced herself onto Lupita when her name was announced- shameless.

I loved Lupita and Amy Adams dresses. Jennifer Lawrence fell over again.

Poor Leo- even if he was the only nominee he'd still not win.

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 08:09

What's up with that Mig? He's an amazing actor. Felt like Wolf was on the ignore list. And he was incredible in The Great Gatsby too.

Jennifer Lawrence looks great in that tomato red.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2014 08:22

How do Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell actually kiss now? There mouths are so stretched???

BecauseIsaidS0 · 03/03/2014 08:24

Wow, Jamie Foxx's daughter is beautiful!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 03/03/2014 08:26

I love tattoos (and have them myself) but they can sometimes destroy a look

santamarianovella · 03/03/2014 08:46

I'm not a big fan of Angelina, but she always looks drop dead gorgeous.

Charlize theron ,perfect. Its hard to look bad when you are that pretty.

Lupita's dress is breathtakingly gorgeous,

Cate blanchett, glad she won,was amazing in blue jasmine, but her dress is very predictable, its getting boring.

Am I the only one who finds Jennifer Lawrence annoying?

And what happened to margot Robbie? She was insanely gorgeous in wolf of Wall Street, but now she looks terrible with dark hair!

I think the academy are still holding a grudge on Leo,for something he said a long time ago, which is not fair!

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 08:48

What did he say?! Feel really annoyed for him. Poor sausage.

Agree on Margot Robbie what's going on there?!

And I wish Jennifer Lawrence did different hair.

Mignonette · 03/03/2014 08:58

What did Leo say? Spielberg was also cold shouldered for years. Leo should have got an oscar for Gilbert Grape too as he was breathtaking in it.

Emma Watson looked fabulous- and that tool on GMTV has just slagged her outfit and Lupita's. Idiot. They both looked young and fresh. I am tired of seeing young actresses in ageing dreary long dresses with trussed up hair. Jennifer Lawrence looked too stiff in her hair too. I really don't like the Penelope/Charlize style big dresses. I'd go short if I had to attend.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 03/03/2014 09:02

I seem to remember he didn't attend the Oscars the year he made Titanic because he wasn't nominated...said something about not wanting to steal attention from the nominees?

Bonsoir · 03/03/2014 09:10

I've just looked at the Oscar dresses. Thought Angelina is too buxom for the style of dress - it looked matronly on her. I would normally love that dress. Emma Watson's top half was fabulous but I didn't like the black skirt. Penelope Cruz is also looking über buxom these days and her dress looks like something my Pippa doll wore c. 1972. I wasn't blown away by any of them, tbh.

Annianni · 03/03/2014 09:14

'Cool girls group'?!

Ok... thanks for that Because

Step away from the sun-in Liberty!!!
Hope you're having a lovely holiday Envy

I quite like some of the Oscar dresses.
I'll have a proper look later.
Why is Liza in pj's?

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 09:16

Liberty sounds amazing, lucky you! Have a fabulous time.

Mignonette · 03/03/2014 09:17

Angelina seems to veer from matronly or ageing big dresses to ultra sharp as in her tux.

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2014 09:17

Ah Because I see. If he's never had an Oscar then he has been badly overlooked. Agree he was incredible in Gilbert Grape.
