Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

Not today QueenC. I have rolled them up with Hudsons and Ash boots. But with my wedges and these Hobbs chunky heeled boots with a slight platform I didn't roll. Perhaps a bit dated but I felt ok.....

shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 20:21

Sleep I'd get this.....scarf

LinusDKD · 15/12/2013 20:27

And I would get this scarf sleep

Slightly over budget but I just love the colours.

santamarianovella · 15/12/2013 20:42

Hello everyone!

I'm feeling much better today! Thank you all for asking,

mig I took a course of antibiotic earlier this month, and was feeling fine,I thought that maybe Im not fully recovered yet? Hope you are feeling better.

justa it looks like not only our periods are in sync,on MNV but UTI too!,
It is awful! Hope you feel better,I'm looking forward to sales too!

mamasin what a lovely post! You are right, you won't find a nicer place than MNV,and these lovely bunch, are just fab ,they were my rock when I had some issues, and their lovely words really helped me.

Don't feel bad about buying stuff for yourself, wearing nice things can have a positive impact on you,and lift your mood,

dry need more details about your dd party! My rockstuds have about two more outings and then they are taking January off, they have been working overtime this month!

sleep I would ask,for maybe lingerie? Or a cashmere scarf? A Markus lupfer sweater?

ani hope you are ok?

linus that cartier watch is gorgeous,

novice sounds your dcs had an amazing day

Hope I didn't miss any one? Will do a proper catch up tomorrow!

shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 20:44

santa do you fancy a time share on the rockstuds? I'm happy to take them off your hands during January....Xmas Grin
Seriously though, I'm glad you're feeling better today x

QueenCadbury · 15/12/2013 20:49

sleep no idea what I'd get. Dh wants some more (small) ideas for me and I'm struggling.

Watching the last ever episode of friends again. Will be crying soon Grin

libertychick · 15/12/2013 20:52

Welcome Because and What! Great to have new people – some lovely links. Like your coated jeans what and I haven’t come across Adolfo D before so thanks for that link Because.

Shop what a shame about your lovely Diptyque candle – the joy of small children and DH’s who just don’t get these things! It will still smell divine though and with the lights turned down and the candle lit you won’t notice the marks.

Beautiful bracelet Linus - am Envy at the Cartier watch.

What a great SS fashion summary Mig! I am fully expecting when I meet you (hopefully someday) that you will reveal yourself as being Anna Wintour’s cousin or Pheobe Philo’s bestie! I am liking the idea of pleated skirts and looking forward to having a good selection of flats around.

Santa glad to hear you are ok – sounds like last night was awful.

Mamasin what a lovely, lovely post! Feel free to dip in and out. It’s always nice when lurkers ‘delurk’. I’m Irish but living in the UK, there are a few other Irish ladies on the thread. It’s grim there ATM, I know so many people who are really struggling but as a country we have been through worse and will ultimately come out stronger and smiling. Nollaig Shona Duit!

Dry LOVE the summary of the next few weeks – it is a bit of a soap opera on here!

Sleep I’d probably ask for the longchamp purse Dry linked and Diptyque perfume. I love this ring and also this leather bracelet.

Marsha well done on the birthday party, sounds very organised!

One 8 bags of presents!!! 8!!! How many people do you have to buy for?

Think I have caught up now….

shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 20:55

Liberty that ring is just beautiful

Drywhiteplease · 15/12/2013 20:59

Santa not much to tell really. Every Saturday afternoon and evening there is a roller disco in a school hall near us. I just took a group, bought drinks and crisps and left them to it. They seemed to spend most of the time taking selfies!!!!! Easy party.
Birthdays have got easier as the kids get older. Took a group of boys to watch rugby at Leeds one year, got them to put"happy birthday Dryjunior " on the digital score board screen thing, give them money for chips. Then raced down to get autographs I led that scrumXmas Winksimples.
Indoor water park was another good one...off you go while DH and I sit upstairs in the cafe....Mcdonalds on the way home big mistake to say to 10 boys "get what you want" they ate like lions Xmas Grin
Not sure what DS wants to do this year. He's currently trying to "get hench mum" for a swimming party for 60! in a weeks time, at 15,you have to have a 6pack it seemsXmas Shock

OneLittleLady · 15/12/2013 21:20

Liberty I buy for: 6 brothers and sisters, 2 BIL, 2 SIL, 8 nephews and nieces, my son, his foster family, DP, DP's Mum and any friends that I give to. The 8 bags do not include DP's gifts which are stashed in the wardrobe which is out of bounds to him!

libertychick · 15/12/2013 21:29

Sounds like Christmas is fun at your house one! My brothers and I agreed to stop buying for each other and all the IL's several xmas's ago as it was so expensive. We did a secret santa thing for a few years but that has fizzled out - we just buy for kids now. I get my parents vouchers and we send DH's Mum cash as she doesn't have a lot to spare so prefers money and then can treat herself from time to time. Feels a bit boring really. I am struggling to resist the temptation to go crazy buying gifts for DD especially as this is the first year she will have an idea about Santa.

santamarianovella · 15/12/2013 21:30

dry sounds good fun for 13yrold girls, you are right once they get older it gets much easier,
the best birthday I ever had was back in 05, my dad took me to an arsenal game,he knew I had a crush on robin van persie, and even managed to get me his jersey! I think he was just happy that I developed a sudden interest in football! He then took me to a pub Grin

shop I will gladly send them too you!

OneLittleLady · 15/12/2013 21:32

It's certainly.....hectic Liberty everyone is in different houses for most of christmas but put everyone together and I'm not sure hectic is strong enough a word!

Annianni · 15/12/2013 21:33

Just watching Strictly... christ Tess's dress is awful.
Love Claudia's shoes.

Wish Celine would stfu!

I'm fine, almost mended. Lovely antibiotics are working thank god.

Will try and catch up tomorrow.

Glad the party went well Marsha

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 15/12/2013 21:41

Ruby I wouldn't waste too much time feeling sorry for Tess - my Cousin and DSis both worked on Strictly a couple of years ago and both said she's not a terribly nice person. In slightly stronger terms, though Xmas Grin

Mamasin please stay and join in, we are a friendly bunch (as you know). DH is Irish and so I'm well aware of what you're going through. Hang on in there, it will get better (and I hope you don't think I'm being glib, I really think it will improve, even though it will be different than before)

What thanks for the links. Almost perfect, if they were plain black. I'm telling you, I'm bloody dreaming of the Marants, but I'd have to win the lottery first. I'm impressed by M&S though.

Mig your ATM story is scary, good job you're you and not some frail and feeble person - I hope they were apprehended. Love your style appraisal for SS14, so evocative.

Novice I'm sure you're the most stylish reindeer deely-bop wearer of all time Xmas Wink

libertychick · 15/12/2013 21:41

Glad to hear you are feeling better Anni Smile

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 21:56

santamarianovella · 15/12/2013 22:10

Glad you are feeling better ani Flowers

shop I'm a size 5.5 . promise not to rip them Xmas Grin

shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 22:11

Santa it's not the first time I've volunteered to chop my own toes off in the name of MNV Xmas Grin

libertychick · 15/12/2013 22:12

Santa you can't let Shop with her size 7 trotters near them - now me - I'm a 5.5 (mostly, sometimes a 6....) Xmas Grin

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 15/12/2013 22:14

I take back everything nice I've ever said about you Liberty

Decameron · 15/12/2013 22:21

Sleep, I'd probably go for a DVF or cashmere scarf, or a Clarisonic (anyone have one? Any good?).

Mig, scary about the ATM story. I have been mugged a couple of times and once given a black eye when I resisted, which was a silly thing to do in hindsight but I was so angry. The DDs were very on board with the ice cream recommendation, they thank you! DD2 had it worse but I think is on the mend.

Santa, hope you are feeling better.

Glad your DD enjoyed her party, Dry.

Mamasin, hi, I am Irish too but not living there though planning to move back. It has been a rough couple of years alright. House prices are certainly going up in Dublin now. Could be a dead cat bounce though.

Gosh, you do buy a lot of presents, One! I only buy for my nieces and nephews, DH, my father and a small gift for my MIL from my DDs. I'm looking forward to it, my little DDs are so excited.

Bought another dress and top from the Me & Em sale and hope the Matches sale starts tomorrow so I can get a few things before I leave for Ireland.

libertychick · 15/12/2013 22:24

Xmas Grin at Shop!
