Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

shopafrolic yup, size 2 feet (IT 34). I'm barely 5ft tall so not too disproportionate.

Hello Because and what and lovely to 'meet' you.

RE muggings etc I am sure I was being sized up at WW. The ATM's were in this terrapin and i had to climb the steps to get to them. On the steps were lounging these girls who did NOT want to move. As i approached the ATM one of them came over. held out a receipt and asked me if it said anything about why she was not able to withdraw money. I immediately heard alarm bells in my head and pushed my bag behind me and leant into it against the side wall. I made it obvious too. The receipt was two days old so I remarked that she had been waiting there an awful long time to get some help. I decided to leave the ATM place (basically a long narrow wheeled unit-very easy to get hemmed in. The girls would not move and I couldn't get access to the edge of the steps near the handrail and it was too slippery to walk down the middle so i lost my temper and pretty much snarled at them 'get the FUCK out of my way'. Managed to shift them and found a security guard who went trotting off to investigate. Left me a bit shaken but I just thought NOBODY is having my bag!

thanks linus I bloomin well need it! Chilli jam is now cooling in jars, fingers crossed it sets as I've never made it before but we have pickled onions and salsa to fall back on if it fails!

Oh no, I hope you're ok Mig and not feeling too shaken up. They were clearly up to something so you were right to move and even to snarl at them.

also, I forgot you earlier (sorry Xmas Blush )but welcome to you too What please stay Xmas Smile

No not shaken now but glad i didn't ignore my instincts which stopped me from pulling out my wallet. I was more furious than anything. I don't usually swear at strangers like that but those damn ignorant girls were sprawled all over the steps making it impossible for anybody to climb up them safely.

Your chile jam sounds gorgeous One and if you PM me your address we'll send you a Christmas card!

Oh and i have had to go to out of hours GP as have a UTI from not drinking enough and general not 100% over the last week or os. Now on Nitrofurantoin and feeling grumpy. I barked at DH over dressing the Christmas tree this afternoon as not impressed w/ the shape of our tree. What happens when you choose one from the farm in the semi dark!

Ah, sorry you're feeling ill Mig hope you're feeling better soon

There is neither style nor beauty going on for me today, in scrubby old clothes that are flecked with sugary stickness and I've just rubbed my eyes and realised I must still have chilli on my fingers, despite a damn good scrub with the nail brush, as my eyes are now watering!

Gut instinct is always to be followed mig - well done. Hope you feel better soon.
because relieved at the 5ft, I had visions Xmas Grin
So this evening I walked into our lounge to find DS on DH lap, with my Diptyque candle in his lap, picking away at the wax. DH not even noticing. Furious doesn't even cut it!!!!! Having period doesn't help, I went mental.
Had to walk away chanting to myself "he's only 2.5, he's only 2.5". More pissed off at DH for being so pig ignorant TBH.

Liberty are you buying Marsha's Gracie?

Report
shopafrolic · 14/12/2013 20:30

That knit is from Emerson Fry. I've never heard of them..... Anyone know of UK stockists? I've tried EBay and random googling.......

Shop That would send me into 'The Hills Have Eyes' sociopathic rage.

What scent was it?

Back home worrying I have bought home fulminant Norovirus from the walk in hospital clinic as man came in with what I strongly suspect to be it. I moved away sharpishly. Why do people do such selfish, stupid things?

Admiring my tree ornaments- A mermaid clutching a seal; a Santa on a donkey wrapped in a Mexican blanket with a Sombrero on his head; A Nightmare Before Christmas Santa skull; an angel donkey and a mini Louboutin shoe. Bad taste all the way. The tree has an odd shape which really bugs me but seeing my ornaments again is like meeting up with old friends and the moment the failure of my previous relationship really hit home was when ex bought over the Christmas decorations and we shared them out. I cried my heart out over it.

Does anybody else think the Strictly women's dresses have been really lovely at times, this year? Abbie Clancy may be a daft mare but her Great Gatsby style dresses have blown me away - well done costumiers!

I want a pale baby blue coat with a fake fur Peter pan colllar, princess cut. Would that be too odd for my age (47)? I love love love the one in this photo here.

Ha thanks Shop. Dh was quite the party entertainer, thankfully. He was feeling the pressure and we're both now lumped on the sofa Grin.

Evening all. Welcome because and what. As others have said it's always good to have new input, links and styles.

Thanks for the comments on pin. Glad I didn't do the sequins and chose the outfit I wore. Going for lunch tomorrow and was looking forward to a nice country pub and getting dressed up a bit. I've found out though we are going to a farm with a soft play Xmas Hmm. No point dressing up to get dragged through tunnels and down slides!

mig instincts should always be trusted so I'm glad you did. Goodness knows why that woman was on the tube!

marsha glad today went well.

QueenCadbury · 14/12/2013 20:42

mig I totally imagine you can pull that off.

Loved Sophie's paso dress tonight. I think she's stunning. And tess looked so much better with her hair natural and loosely waved. I hate it when she does that severe pulling it to one side thing or straightens it. Too severe for her.
