Oh god I am suffering after epic day shepherding all the kids around the hell that is the West End/most of central London but we had such fun.
My son hates cities and never stays with us when we are in town despite being born in the Chelsea & Westminster so we had to drag him about a bit but his GF was in total awe.
Went to Winter Wonderland then down to Covent Garden and lunch at Shake Shack- the Concrete Jungle concrete with banana, marshmallow sauce and hazelnut brownie from St John was heavenly if rich. Then walked to Soho and Chinatown for steamed buns and Yuzu Roll (!) ending back at Winter Wonderland for the darkness and lights. Met up with stepd who is studying at Kings.
Ended the day at South Bank- dinner at The Wharf, walk (stagger) along the river up to St Pauls and back and DLR through Docklands for Gf. Got home at 1a.m.
Bought Laduree Macarons and chocolates from Paul A Young. No clothes, no bags.
I wore my new checked coat and got lots of looks (I hope nice approving looks), my flat new Pour La Victoire brogues from The Outnet that arrived thurs night although i had back up pair of old flats in my bag in case of new shoe rub. Underneath I wore my pink Creatures of the Wind skirt (pictured on last Vol), a silver glittery peter pan coloured top and my bag was the Luella cracked silver studded (Selfridges staffer came over to look at it and agreed that Luella bags were destined to become collectible because of her new job). I felt really comfortable.
Today's question - Imagine you could afford to wear a Fendi mink sleeveless fur (I don't approve of fur but that's by the by) a Chanel silk and cashmere scarf, a diamond studded Cartier watch (mega bucks I imagine as it was crusted with them), this season's Chanel skirt suit, A pair of the new Dior boots and were carrying seven enormous bags full of black beribboned Chanel, Dior, Prada and Vuitton goodies.
Would YOU use the tube?
Because that's who I sat next to and she admired my skirt, bag and Marc Jacobs scarf and I drooled over her Chanel and the boots (such beautiful construction-she even unzipped them to show me the cashmere blended top lining to cushion the back of her knee-added to her personal request) and I would never set foot on a metro/tube again let alone 6pm Friday before Christmas if I was that successful and wealthy. She was only about 25 ish although being Chinese it is hard to tell as so many Chinese women seem to retain youthful looks well into their forties and fifties.
Novice Never underestimate the allure of a clever, successful, well dressed and attractive woman. Good for you!
