Chartreuse thanks, I managed to get the PD in the end. Unfortunately was a bit late but the good thing is that it's 64mm and they are made with 63mm so should be ok with my prescription. But will double check. They feel a bit better now, hopefully will settle.

There will be no champagne for me tomorrow. Gp has prescribed me oxycodone for the pain and the potential side effects from drinking with it are far from festive so it's orange juice for me. I hope one or two of you can, you know, have a glass or three for me!

Love to you all and absent friends - we are all thinking of you at Christmas. We know it is not the easiest time for many.

You really are the most fabulous bunch of clever, funny, warm, supportive and super cool women. You are my friends and my life has been greatly enriched by your presence. to you all. I hope tomorrow is magical and free of stress (well as much as possible).

Queen love the Coach bag. Have been to the pub and missed the pin advice session. DH is now gracing twitter wearing his Santa snowman w/ 3D carrot sweater!

Marsha I miss having wide eyed awed little ones preparing for Santa's arrival. We used to scatter tiny scraps of carrots about the room then in the morning make a big fuss about Santa being naughty and bringing his blooming reindeers in the house again, chewing carrots and spitting them everywhere. The children used to love it and side passionately with poor hard working Santa and his cold hungry reindeer .

Mince pie eaten, carrot out, apple juice (DS' idea) drunk. A little table and animal chairs built and stood in front of the fire with stocking and presents on it. One very excited little boy (and very excited mummy and daddy)

My son is locked in the bathroom having an epic hissy fit because I told him to put the wrappers from his food in the bin now. Not in ten minutes. Not never. Not hoping his Mother will do it.

Am and trying not to be. He does sod all around the place then gets arrogantly hissy if I dare to ask him to do one thing.

Oh mig I share your pain. Have petulant teen too. Ignore him,leave him in the bathroom and go to bed. He'll cheer up when he starts opening presents (put the wrapper in his stocking.....do not under any circumstances put it in the bin yourself!) you won't get anywhere continuing the argument tonight.xxxxx

Mince pie and chocolate biscuits eaten, milk has been drank, carrot gone and elf snow dust icing sugar is by the fire place. Dd is so sweet. She insisted we buy Santa a present to leave for him as no one gets him anything. Bless.

Well, this will teach me to make public service announcements about the weather. Plane almost crashed landing in Spain so we were diverted to another airport 500km south. And then put on a coach. Six effing hours. Surrounded by obnoxious youngsters and screaming babies (I can totally forgive the babies though).

In a far better mood after a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with the family (and a good dousing in Albariño). Planning to wear my Markus Lupfer/Katie Hillier jumper with jeans and wondering if I should also throw in my wedding shoes on (they are sparkly and they have some pink in them)
