Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

Thanks for Mig

foxysocks · 22/12/2013 11:26

oh goodnness mig how stressful. hopefully they will all be on best behaviour now?

we had an ACE time! drank loads of prosecco, had yummy canapes and great chats.

we got home at midnight and watched the second strictly show, hurrah for abby! natalie's last dance did blow me away but that is the first time ALL SERIES she has shown any emotion, so for me was too little too late. her professional dance background also meant she would never get my vote, abby came in as a complete novice - apart from occasionally 'throwing some shapes on the dancefloor' as her adorable husband put it! - and by the end was as good as natalie imo. her waltz was completely beautiful and I loved how enthusiastic she has been every week.

have only had five hours sleep (SOB!) and have another party starting at 4pm today so am running around cleaning. food shop coming 9am tomorrow so want house spick and span so can start baking and making. feeling excited now!

wearing cobalt cashmere and ripped jeans atm, will switch jeans for wang twist skirt and opaques later. what's everyone else wearing this last sunday before christmas?!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 22/12/2013 11:56

We are doing Christmas day today before DH and I jet off to Spain to spend time with my side of the family. This is the first year we are a recombined family so it has all been mildly stressful for me even though everyone is on their best behaviour!

I'm wearing khaki Mother jeans (really comfy although they overstretch a bit) and skull M by Marc Jacobs t-shirt. Not very Christmassy I guess, but all very comfortable and laid back, which is what I'm going for atm.

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 12:14

Ooooh Mig you're formidable when you're mad! What a horrible day. Hope today is better.
Well, last night's party was fun....only a mild hangover today. We looked like the odd couple...me togged up to the nines working my red lip and smokey eye Wink and DH in his bloody Christmas jumper Xmas Shock he also threatened to take his slippers, I put my beautifully shod foot down at thatXmas Grin
Still in pjs slob but I've made my stuffings and iced the Christmas cake. Am planning to watch the Strictly results show with the ironing after lunch.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 22/12/2013 12:56

Oooh look what Santa brought me!

Mignonette · 22/12/2013 14:05

Hello everybody, been making passionfruit, lemon and hazelnut roulade with DH (spiked with Passoa). It is beautiful and better than the cheesecake originally planned which was too heavy after chile.

We have friends over (6 for supper) tonight.

I was in SUCH a rage last night and woke up feeling so blue-bit ashamed at screaming in the street like that Blush but if I see the neighbours responsible I will probably still lose it with them.

Queen have told the other kids, no to coming for breakfast as its too last minute, I do not want to get dressed at half eight and do not want to meet new OH's at that time. DH's kids always turn up as a herd, they scream and screech and drive me nuts and he finds them a bit full on plus they dribk like Oliver Reed from very early on

Foxy - today I am wearing cobalt blue sweater (snap) from Uniqlo, my old camel A line skirt from Jaeger (elderly old thing), black tights and my new Pour La Victoire brogues. Quite schoolmarmish but I work that look a lot. Hair pinned up into messy screwed up bun, Prada Orangerie scent and red, red ,red lipstick (Poppy King).

Dry DH has his Christmas sweater with sticking out carrot that looks like a sex toy. Most attractive and not a very shaggable look.

One thank you my love.

Because Have a lovely time in Span - we plan a road trip there in the Spring. Your link isn't working for me Sad.

foxysocks · 22/12/2013 14:14

Great outfits laydeeeez. Mig I love your school marm days, geek chic is so fab.

AmberNectarine · 22/12/2013 14:18

Have spent morning at kids birthday parent - toddler overload! Have escaped now to do some last minute stocking shopping for DH/spend birthday vouchers. Phew - nice to have peace. Oh, apart from the chavvy cow swearing at her toddler on this train whose nose I'd quite like to break with my forehead.

Am wearing a lovely black speckle print Maison Scotch blouse sent to me by the DR with grey Goldsigns, grey jalouse, grey cashmere Cos beanie and purple silk MaxMara scarf. The last two were among my birthday presents from lovely DH. Carrying my little Balenciaga cross body.

Wish me luck

QueenCadbury · 22/12/2013 14:48

Cute jumper because

amber I saw that purple scarf on pin and it's lovely

We're back from Christmas drinks/nibbles. It was one of those painful parties when I didn't know many people and feeling hungover not sociable. Now in my sweats and fleece for an afternoon at home. For the party I wore jeans, poodle blouse and fushia cardi.

Mignonette · 22/12/2013 14:59

Amber you are a woman after my own heart. Glad I am not the only one feeling the rage at the behaviour of others Xmas Grin. Great sounding outfit.

Because T'was worth the wait for the link head explodes with joy. I LOVE that and recognised the Katie Hillier bunny instantly. Have you seen her bunny jewelery range?

LinusDKD · 22/12/2013 15:07

Afternoon!

After a day at DPIL where we survived the first Christmas party of the season, we are now at my DP for the next few days.

Thank God they are generous with their drink had two glasses of bubbly at 11 because I'll need it!

When I asked DM what she thought of my weight loss, she said I needed losing weight and I could do with losing another 5 kilos. Thanks Mum! Hmm

mig (((hugs))) I HATE unexpected guests and surprises.

because I love that jumper!

It reminds me a bit of the Sonia Rykiel DM used to wear when I was a child.

amber your outfit sounds fab.

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 15:24

Good god linus that's harsh. Ignore her.
I really really hate seeing parents being horrible to their kids, really upsets me . Amber I'm with you.

Mignonette · 22/12/2013 15:42

You'd have detested my Father Dry. Bloody incapable of saying anything nice.

santamarianovella · 22/12/2013 16:04

A quick hello to all you lovelies ,

Really love hearing all about your Christmas parties! Everyone sounds so stylish!
mig I would react just like you! And i totally agree with queen, they should contribute, that's what we will do,as we will spend Christmas with my inlaws, and since it will be a big gathering ,we will all help my mil.

linus I just read about your amazon order ,made me really Angry, hope they sort it out for you,

because lovely sweater, safe trip! And enjoy Your time with your family!

marsha I really wanted to say that tipsy marsha is so cool! Xmas Grin,

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 16:07

Hi ladies. They've gone. We've had a good time but it was nice to wave goodbye.
Marsha yup am at home - always planned that way. Your night looked lush?
BIL and family arrive late tonight at my parents.
Loving all the pre Xmas rage. I went to Waitrose this morning - I must have been mental. It was like a warzone. Probably better on Christmas Eve than today!
Lounging today in Lang sweater with cream vest, Goldsign Lures and Jalouse when I went out. V tired and back playing up so mulled wine and a chill out for me....
Calming vibes to all.

AmberNectarine · 22/12/2013 16:41

Slightly bought some boots. They are these from Comptoir. I predict the knee high is going to make a comeback. They're really well made and great for the price IMO.

Also bought lovely winter WCo candle for DSIL as she is hosting my family and that deserves something nice. Lots of miscellaneous crap for kids/DH too and my shopping is DONE. Tonight I will be wrapping it all with the aid of a stiff drink or nine

Then just need to clean the house and take delivery of the grocery shopping. MIL coming to us on Boxing Day but I will be out at silly o'clock to do battle with the sales so food needs to be prepped and ready for DH to shove it all in the oven.

mig I'm not in good humour, I almost offered a woman outside in the £1 shop after she mouthed off at me for tripping over her shopping bag which she had left in the MIDDLE of the aisle. I might sound well spoken but I can fishwife with the best of them. I blame the time of year.

linus my mum says things like that. I tell myself it's jealousy at my youth and beauty :)

QueenC meant to say you look lovely in your red cardi

So what's on everyone's sales hitlist?

BecauseIsaidS0 · 22/12/2013 16:50

amber those are lovely! I bought a similar pair (although yours are way nicer) about a month ago and have worn them a lot. Yes, knee length making a comeback for sure...and if not, we'll make it a comeback! Xmas Grin

mig now you've made me want this pendant! (scroll down the link, it's the polka dot bunny pendant).

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 17:37

Lovely boots. Glad to hear knee length is coming back never went out of my wardrobe have seen a few women wearing tan knee boots which I'm now thinking I need.
Sales wise I don't really need anything. I'm rubbish at sale shopping. I would love a pair of Paige Skyline straight jeans, if anyone sees these reduced in blue, prob a 28, let me know.

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 17:47

ahhh, tomorrow is going to be terrible! I need to sharpen my elbows tonight and get in and out of town as quickly as possible! I'm suitably festive today in a burgundy dress and dark green cardigan. The massive bandage on my leg for support wasn't so festive until I tied a bow round it Xmas Grin

QueenCadbury · 22/12/2013 18:49

Nice boots amber. I'd like knee length to come back in as they suit me way better than ankle boots which make my legs look stumpy.

bevause I want that bunny now too and I don't even like gold! It's so cute.

No sales plans from me. I have everything I need really and I need to cut back the spending at least for a couple of months to keep dh happy. Although there is a blazer in gap that I like the look of Xmas Hmm. When the time is right I'm going to negotiate a day away again to come shopping in London and hopefully meet you guys again as I've decided I'd really like to have a look in anthropologie and other stories for s/s stuff.

BrandyAlexander · 22/12/2013 18:51

Hello everyone! Thank you for your lovely messages and pms. X

Sorry to dive straight into a question but I am thinking of getting this robe for dmil (has everything, hard to buy for and inspiration always strikes late!!). Does anyone else have it? What do you think?

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 18:59

the robe looks lovely Novice I'd certainly be pleased to receive it as a gift

LinusDKD · 22/12/2013 19:06

novice I like that robe but it doesn't have a collar or lapels so that might be a downside. Brora usually have lovely cashmere dressing gowns but ££££

My sales wishlist is an Etro scarf, a Michael Kors coatigan and a Zarita dress (I hope to try on in London)

DM is making mussles and chips. Not very Christmassy but yummy none the less.

LinusDKD · 22/12/2013 19:08

I saw these and had to think of Marsha.

Gorgeous!
