Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

Waves to all - no time to MN as trying to be perfect host to ILs so they don't get pissed off about not seeing DS on Christmas Day.

Annianni · 21/12/2013 19:10

I'm in bed with Ds2, he's falling asleep holding my hair.

Plans for this evening are alcohol and present wrapping.

Love your chocolate house Queenc, it's brilliant.

I had a gingerbread trial run today (using Mary B's recipe) we now have 75 gingerbread men, Christmas trees and snowflakes.
Or we did have... the ds's and dh have had far too many!
House building tomorrow I think...

Lovely trainers Amber

Have a good night Dry and Foxy and whoever else is out.

How are the pils behaving Shop?

shopafrolic · 21/12/2013 19:17

Alright thanks Anni we've opened presents to spread it out for DS. It's been lovely. Will watch Strictly on playback with thai curry and fizz.
Dry how's the toe? X

Drywhiteplease · 21/12/2013 19:27

Brilliant actually....didnt brake it, just badly bruised and a horrid colour. Standing in heels will be no prob ESP after a few drinks.
Sounds like you're having a great evening.

OneLittleLady · 21/12/2013 20:40

busy day today visiting the family I won't see on Christmas Day. Done the major food shop for us which includes what we need for having my son on Boxing Day. Two more presents to buy on Monday but right now I have a strawberry beer and christmas songs Xmas Grin

shopafrolic · 21/12/2013 20:40

Good news Dry have a fun night

OneLittleLady · 21/12/2013 21:04

I bought my first smaller sized item of clothing today. Just a cheap tesco jumper in a lovely shade of purple BUT size 14 down from the 18 I was wearing Xmas Grin Xmas Grin I am not buying anything expensive until I am a settled weight, there's no point.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 21/12/2013 23:05

Good on ya' one - that's brilliant.

V Xmas Envy at all your lovely evenings. I have about 30 coming for drinks tomorrow night, but I doubt I'll be greeting them all calm and bedazzled, more like stressed and frazzled (much like today). Plan to experiment with Prosecco and various liqueurs, so will be fit for nowt come 8pm.

Oh, and DH informs me I have a BR package in the office, but he didn't bother bringing it home so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is. Told you I'm losing track of my shit...

OneLittleLady · 21/12/2013 23:40

Grumpy I don't envy you hosting 30, I don't think i could fit that many people in my flat! I'm not really out this year, drinks early evening on christmas eve and may possibly be out NYE but that's it I think

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 00:15

Hehehe happy Christmas !!
I heard someone say " look at dry's shoes!! Think it was a good thing.

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 00:25

it couldn't have been anything but a good thing dry they are lovely shoes Xmas Grin

QueenCadbury · 22/12/2013 09:03

Morning Xmas Smile. Feeling a little bit tired and hungover. Party went really well considering we had 20 adults and as many kids! I drank far too much wine and fell asleep at the end of strictly. I lost interest in once sophie went.

We've got lunchtime drinks and nibbles to go to but I'll be driving. I must finish wrapping presents this afternoon/evening.

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2013 09:16

Well done QueenC.

Good luck Grumpy. Sounds lovely, hope it's not too stressful.

Need to do presents today.

MarshaBrady · 22/12/2013 09:20

Dry lovely outfit, sounds like a good night.

Shop are you home? Or we're you always home? Grin

Foxy fab outfits.

Apols patchy catch up, going to get espresso first.

Mignonette · 22/12/2013 09:22

Hello all.

Finally lost it, went rogue and had the monumental tantrum threatening for days.

Have been trying to pin stepchildren down for arrangements for weeks only to be messed about (as usual). We had arranged for one of them to come for Christmas breakfast/brunch. Then Husband casually drops it into conversation at my Mothers yesterday that all three were now coming along with their respective other halves/casual lays yada yada. I went ballistic as he just sat there laughing saying 'let's go with the flow'.

I AM MOT HAVING 12 PEOPLE TO BREAKFAST ON CHRISTMAS DAY AT 9 A.M IN MY DRESSING GOWN WHEN i HAVEN'T EVEN MET TWO OF THEM. Especially when none of them have had the decency to let ME know.

Sorry-I had to shout.

So they are coming after eleven. But I raged all the way home and it got worse when I pulled into the street to find selfish twunt neighbour (the one who woke us up at 2 a.m firing airpistol at his shed whilst sitting on his flat roof) had parked a teeny tiny moped in the only off road parking spot when he has a huge front garden/drive to put it in.

So we had the unedifying sight and sound of me shouting 'you fucking twunt' at him across the street and having to be dragged inside by my DH to prevent me going even more postal.

Blush.

Oh...And my fucking ex-stepmother has moved 1 1/2 miles away. That really takes the biscuit. We are going to move.

Queen glad you enjoyed your party. Natalie was robbed in Strictly IMO. I loved Sophie too - such dignity and intelligence.

Dry Can I recommend a cheese called 'Suffolk Gold'? If you ever see it, buy some as it is fabulous. They do a Suffolk Blue too. Details on Mumsnet Suffolk Local under artisans on the high st.

Novice I am hoping to hear about the rest you manage to get soon. You must have some.

We did have a lovely morning shopping yesterday though. Paul Smith socks and toothbrushes for stockings and my stepfather (who is an Angel set down among us) who has huge feet and struggles to find quality socks. He is one of those men who doesn't buy a lot but everything he does is of exquisite quality. We bought a Michael Kors belt from TKMaxx for stepson, a straw angel for MIL (horrific but she'll like it), a French Connection lambswool sweater for me (in dove grey again) from TKMaxx - £19! We have a market stall selling cashmere from Brora, NPeal, Lewins, M&S and there is really nothing wrong visibly but Brora cashmere for £40!!!!

QueenCadbury · 22/12/2013 09:41

Sending hugs for you mig. Just when you'd thought you'd got all your shopping/baking done. Can the step children contribute to bringing things to breakfast presumably not as they haven't told you they're coming.
