Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

I was sorting out bags earlier (all the Christmas shopping) and realised I have the following to return:

  1. Gap Oxford pale blue shirt - it's nice but I can't think when I'd wear it in preference to my denim shirt
  2. M&S black wool skirt - makes me look like the rear end of a bus
  3. M&S black and gold tweed skirt - ditto
  4. Oasis sequin top - bought it in midnight blue and fit etc is lovely but the sequins make me feel itchy!!

The cost of the above is £119 which in the best MNV maths makes Gracie free with £29 over for something else!!!

So happy!

Shop I tend to be quite lucky too - I won £1000 a few years ago in a Metro competition - that was a very good day.

Good news Liberty that erases any guilt (if there was any?)
Perhaps some of your luck rubbed off on me - nice one

MarshaBrady · 17/12/2013 22:24

Hmm maybe I need to actually enter some competitions.

Liberty you really do deserve the Gracie, hope you love it!

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:30

Thanks Shop and Marsha - there was a tiny, tiny bit of guilt about the Gracie but that's madness as it's a classic bag while the other stuff is passing tat so much better to do the returns and get something lovely. Smile

Ooops - just realised I am slagging off the sequin top (it's the coast one not Oasis as said above) which several people have - it's not tat! It's v nice, I just can't bear anything that rubs and because it has short sleeves the sequins rub against my inner arm.

Here here

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:44

What's everyone's approach to the sales this year? Last year I spent what I felt was a lot - just over £480. For that I got 11 items with a pre sales value of £1150. 8 were good buys as in I still like and wear them, 3 not so good.

This year I am thinking of giving myself a £300 budget and sticking to a plan (some chance she thinks already). I'd like a black and/or navy work skirt, a shirt, pale grey cashmere cardi, couple of nice going out tops.

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:45

I would be tempted also by nice tan ankle boots if I found some good ones...

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:47

Oh and a statement necklace...
And new PJ's if I don't get any for Christmas - a lot of hints have been dropped!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 17/12/2013 22:50

I am going for cashmere jumpers this year, and some petty boots and flats if possible. Updating all the way.

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:50

Actually scratch that, PJs count as a household expense, they are not coming out of my sales fund Xmas Grin

shopafrolic · 17/12/2013 22:51

Those stats are well remembered Liberty. No plan at all here. Everything feels earlier this year or is that just me?
The only things I am still lusting after are that elusive chunky cream knit, and my pistols (fingers crossed Anna do some good discounting tomorrow)

shopafrolic · 17/12/2013 22:52

Oh and I need some kind of tote bag. But may not have enough ££££££.
Right, off to bed. What a brill evening! Night all x

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:53

I kept a spreadsheet Shop I have to keep a running tab or I'd bankrupt myself - shopaholic tendencies and a bad experience of too much debt in my 20's.

Before you sleep have pinned something, as you all grow sleepy let me know what you think!

BrandyAlexander · 17/12/2013 22:56

I know I say this every time but I am not lusting after anything for the sales!

Am waiting for next load of nurofen to kick in. I can't even begin to describe my bad day.Sad The thread has brought me some much needed light relief.

MarshaBrady · 17/12/2013 22:57

Oh Novice poor you, I hope you have a lovely night sleep tonight and feel a bit better tomorrow. Big hug.

Annianni · 17/12/2013 22:58

Well done Shop.
I never win anything!

Glad you all found my day amusing.

I did at first wonder if she thought Ds2 was home alone.
But he peeps out of the side of the bay window, when he hears the doorbell, which has 2 thick pairs of curtains covering it during the day, so she might not have seen him as he's barely above the window sill height.

And she has a mobile, and dh's work mobile number so if she was concerned, surely she would have rung him.

I didn't hide in our bedroom for the entire 28 minutes...
I went into Ds2's bedroom for a bit, as it's at the back of the house :o

And he hoovered his room with his baby Henry (which matches mummys)

Gotta start them young at cleaning Xmas Wink

libertychick · 17/12/2013 22:58

Oh poor you novice - (((hugs again)))
Take it easy on the nurofen - it's a bastard for giving you gastritis/ulcers especially combined with stress - what are you taking it for?

justasecond · 17/12/2013 22:59

I am after some pettys too Marsha much cheaper to order from US sites but I am unsure of the sizing. I am after the leather ones in either tan or the black leather with a tan heel and sole.
Liberty I also have a bag of tat to return. My old self would have convinced me to keep it but I think I am much better these days with cpw and knowing what I will get a lot of wear from. I went through a phase last year of buying nice silk shirts and blouses but really I have nowhere to wear anything smart/dry clean only.

libertychick · 17/12/2013 23:01

A baby Henry - I wonder if it's too late to find one? DD would be ecstatic if she got her own hoover. She's getting a toy mop, sweeping brush and dustpan and brush set Smile

OP posts:
justasecond · 17/12/2013 23:02

Hope you feel better soon Novice

BrandyAlexander · 17/12/2013 23:03

Thank you.Thanks

Nurofen is for my bugger of a cold I have picked up from ds.

shopafrolic · 17/12/2013 23:03

You can get baby Dyson's too liberty try Argos

BrandyAlexander · 17/12/2013 23:09

Our dcs have baby Dysons. It's one of ds' favourite toys.

Am waiting for dsis to call me. She might be sick. Breast. She called me earlier as I was going into client meeting. I managed to do the meeting but it hit me on way home. I was the stone cold sober person with stream of tears on train home tonight. I am all calm now. Thanks for distracting me.Sad
