Yay! linus, hope you like it!

ani don't have any talk yet,That time of the month can really mess with your emotions, give it a few weeks,

queen enjoy your time,

Sleepwhenidie · 29/11/2013 14:57

Yes Santa, avoiding fat in order to avoid being fat is nonsense, also disastrous for health - eating 'fat free' but full of sweeteners even worse.

Anni , I agree with Santa, give it a few days before you chat.

Annianni · 29/11/2013 15:20

I have a 30% matches code if anyone wants it?

I'm assuming everyone has received them though, as I've not shopped there for ages.

Dh is being rather attentive. He's doing the school run at the moment (in the rain) while I lie on the sofa under a blanket :o

Drywhiteplease · 29/11/2013 15:49

Am loving all the pinning! Shop don't forget we want to see you Smile
Tonight I have a couple of friends for a low key birthday meal for DH's birthday (yesterday, but he was away in London Sad) lobster and champagne.....can't wait . Easy meal, with some fab bread and a nice salad. Fruit cake and Wensleydale for puddingyes I know I know it's a Yorkshire thing....Justahave you had it yet? When I moved up North I thought it was just weird, actually delicious
I think I'll wear shinny jeans, cuffed, heels and pewter Zara sequinned jumper.?..may pin a selfie!Grin

Decameron · 29/11/2013 16:39

Sounds delicious, Dry.

I am miffed with Matches, still no code. Luckily I have been using my friend's!

Lovely photos of Anglo, Marsha and Liberty.

The Me & Em dress is way too short but I am relieved as I ordered a black M by MJ Natasha in the Monnier Freres sale and feeling slightly guilty. Luckily not a feeling I often experience.

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2013 17:06

Decam that is very naughty of Matches, even I have one now I assumed I was on the and everyone else list M by MJ sounds fabulous.

Sleep and everyone interesting sugar chat. I agree the artificial low fat stuff is the worst. I did used to eat that stuff pre-dc under the guise of healthy eating. What a big old marketing con. I'd eat homemade cake before that and the dc definitely do.

Have a great weekend QueenC.

Linus thanks for the tip! Yes I am doing a tiger party, which has expanded to animal theme. Have bought lots of green tissue paper for big pom poms, masks and animal balloons etc. I love your equipment shirt. It is sexy!

Anni big hug, so difficult, yes wait a couple of days. Good one on the boyfriends. And I'm glad you're dh is being so good.

Shop have fun tonight.

Dry you too, lobster and champagne and outfit both sound perfect.

Decameron · 29/11/2013 17:23

Yeah, they sent me one for free delivery. Whoop-de-doo.

Totally agree on the artificial sugar and low fat.

And thanks Santa!

Sleepwhenidie · 29/11/2013 17:55

Loving the selfies - Marsha you look gorgeous and slinky, Liberty I love the boots and skirt and Linus that shirt is verrry sexy. I am even tempted by it myself, and I never wear shirts! Looking forward to yours Dry, outfit sounds fab Smile

We definitely need everyone's Christmas outfit selfies on the board!

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2013 18:01

Great idea! It's funny trying to take them, as you have to look at the screen.

Is your lace dress still on it's way Sleep?

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2013 18:02

Argh that's two clangers now. Its and your

Will blame the hangover!

Sleepwhenidie · 29/11/2013 18:11

Haven't ordered the dress Marsha - I was in Selfridges today, was hoping it would be there so i could try and order from Shopbop but it wasn't Sad. May try Harvey Nics, they seem to have it but its a PITA getting there. Not really sure its justified though, I haven't got anything in particular to wear it for, a few xmas drinks things and would wear it on Christmas day too, but nothing especially demanding of a lovely frock....

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2013 18:24

Ah yes it's a pain when getting something is too much hard work. I agree!

LinusDKD · 29/11/2013 19:07

Evening!

queenc enjoy your weekend with DH Wink

grumpy Happy Thanksgiving!

mrsr how was your night? Is DS2 better?

anni take good care of yourself and let DH pamper you a bit this weekend!

justa I use balm cleansers and a cloth to cleanse my face and I really love Ren no1 Purity balm at the moment. It smells lovely and leaves my skin supersoft.

I used to like the Liz Earle one many years ago but not too sure about it now.

Clinique Take the Day off is very nice but has no scent and I like my cleanser to smell nice.

There are a few I would like to try:Emma Hardie, Aromatherapy Associates and Elemental Herbology.

Oh and I don't use the muslin the balm cleanser usually come with but washcloths I bulk buy at Ikea. They have a rougher texture that
I prefer to use to cleanse (recommended by Sali Hughes)

Will try and find a link later.

Having some lovely Ladurée macarons I bought in town earlier. Pity I have to share them with DH. Wink

LinusDKD · 29/11/2013 19:10

washcloths

LinusDKD · 29/11/2013 19:14

Oh nearly forgot.

novice I went into MaxMara today and asked about your Maria coat but they didn't have it in store.

They did have this gorgeous cashmere coat in a size 36

It is called Calcut and felt incredibly soft and luxurious.

An inspired by you I bought a Dyptique Pomander candle which is burning away whilst I type this. Grin

Chicken and spinach curry coming my way tonight! been frantically trying to get some custom pictures frames made for DP's xmas present, god they are expensive even though the sizes are smaller than a 6x4 photo! Hope everyone has fabulously fizzy weekends! Grin

shopafrolic · 29/11/2013 19:53

Have pinned pics - am off - see you later xx

Mignonette · 29/11/2013 20:03

Dry We do the fruit cake and cheese thing. I splashed out on cheese today at the Christmas market- SnoFirsk Goat cheese, some weird named one from the Arctic Circle that is spelt something like hkyyliiisssfttnnlllyjjl- Grin or so it seems; Wensleydale and Rosary soft lemon and garlic goat.

Am having thin slivers with some fresh dates a friend brought back from Algeria and a bit of bread. Made pork chops piled with cheese and tomato conserve for the kids. Everybody is out- DH at his company piss up, son at his and his GF working late. I hate Christmas parties. I get all truculent as they make me feel boxed in and because I don't drink I end up feeling like the old cats bum faced prude in the corner. I sound a barrel of laughs don't I?

Anni ((((hugs)))) and ((((( Cake )))))

Will go look at pins and try to talk fashion for a change. Seeing as this is the MNVogue thread and not titled 'Peevish, Grumpy Old Cow thread'.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/11/2013 21:58

Linus I'm practically drooling on the keyboard at that beautiful coat.

Interested at all this talk of fizzy drinks and diet foods. I eat very little but almost totally exist on 'real' coke - no diet coke for me! I often wonder how much slimmer I'd be if I didn't drink the coke, or would I compensate by eating my own body weight in crap? My diet is actually pretty balanced and healthy otherwise, so I don't worry too much despite my Mum mithering me.

In fashion news...I am kicking myself. I have been watching a pair of brand new red suede J Crew Quinn pumps (sold out) on ebay for 9 days - the only pair I've seen in my size (US 6.5). They were due to finish yesterday but as I was up to my eyes in cooking Thanksgiving dinner all day I completely forgot and they went for one bloody bid of $90 (£55). These are $300 shoes and I missed them Angry. If anyone sees any, please nudge me. It's got to the point where I don't even care what they cost, so long as they're red ones and they fit me.

Mignonette · 29/11/2013 22:03

I'll keep a look out. You can always get one of those snipe programs to bid for you Grumpy. I have missed out on Tory Burch 'Reva' pumps by a few pounds but I console myself by thinking that If I had bid again, it'd have gone up and up.

I bought a lovely pair of Paul Smith high heeled Brogue style pumps for less than £40 last year - unused! All burnished brown leather in a conker shade. Gorgeous. I've been rebuilding my back issues of American Vogue pre 2004 but they are so costly to post and ebayers do like to sell cheap and charge high for p+p. If anybody knows of sources of secondhand US Vogues, do let me know.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/11/2013 22:16

ooh mig, what is this 'snipe' of which you speak?

Drywhiteplease · 29/11/2013 22:28

Grumpy I'd not worry about the coke, if you feel fine and you obv look great ............

Mignonette · 29/11/2013 22:40

it's this internet program that bids for you and especially at the last minute so you can snatch items. I don't use it because I'm I.T dumb and because I have yet to care enough about losing something but a lot of people use it. I guess that eventually it'll reach a tipping point where every Snipe tries to out Snipe the others!

OP posts:
Mignonette · 29/11/2013 22:44

In the light of #TeamNigella, telling Grumpy not to worry about the Coke takes on a whole new meaning Dry Grin
