seri that cardigan is lovely :)

A colour question from me too, is this blue sundress close enough to marine navy or is it not autumny enough?

And is this red Vila dress close enough to the autumn reds or is too burgundy?

I have found quite a few autumny things on ASOS, lots of teals and olives and browns, so I'm hoping to order a few bits and start building up my autumn wardrobe, and phasing out the black Grin

lougle · 19/02/2014 16:57

Hi everyone, I hope it's ok for me to join you. I saw travelincolour today and she says I'm a 'soft-blue Autumn.'

So I've got my wallet, my scary lipstick and a whole load of stars Grin

Snowdown · 19/02/2014 18:14

Hi lougle - welcome to the Autumn thread! How do you feel? Do you like your colours or are you feeling a little shell shocked?

JenniMoo · 19/02/2014 18:28

Hello! Hope you had a fab day. If you're not ready to start shopping definitely don't read this whole thread... ;)

lougle · 19/02/2014 18:53

Thanks Snowdon and Jennimoo Smile

Actually, I had a sneaking suspicion that I was an Autumn and I love my wow colours, and got a couple of surprises too!

Travelincolour was very generous and gave me ** at 100% for:
Apple-Jade
Lizard Grey
Moss Green (she even gave me a ! after the ** Grin)
Amber
Bronze
Kingfisher

I also got a * at 100% for:
Dark Brown
Oyster (never thought I could wear white - what a lovely surprise to have a 'white' that doesn't make me look like I'm about to be interred)
Coffee
Light Olive
Heliotrope

I got a further 8 * at 75% and 5 * at 50%, so lots to choose from, I think.

Travelincolour was so kind and encouraging - I told her I was a hopeless case when I arrived and there were moments where I could actually see that I looked less awful than I imagined.

supadupapupascupa · 19/02/2014 20:09

Just found this thread!!!! brilliant!!! Anyone got over the lipstick shock yet??? Cannot believe coral suits me to this day!!

lougle · 19/02/2014 20:23

My DH has declared my Brick lipstick (no. 12) 'lovely but a going out lipstick'
Grin - a massive change from no lipstick to Brick Red.

The Apricot Lip Gloss (no. 66) met with much approval.

Snowdown · 19/02/2014 21:13

I wear lipstíck all the time now....a bit of primer and I'm good to go.

This looks like petrol blue and cream. It's lovely, I'm really liking the knits this season...they've moved away from colour blocking which I just couldn't click with.

lougle · 19/02/2014 21:19

That's nice, snowdon.

I found these Petrol cords at Great Plains for £15.

lougle · 19/02/2014 21:21

This looks quite oyster on the screen - do you think?

Snowdown · 19/02/2014 23:10

Lougle that top looks beige/camel to me, I haven't got my swatches handy to give you the official name. Oyster is more like winter white - a warm white I think.

lougle · 20/02/2014 07:30

Really? Beige/caramel are both quite dark in my search book. Happily I get stars for both Smile

JenniMoo · 20/02/2014 07:47

I should stop reading this thread, really tempted by those cords! 8th march is my style day and no buying beforehand!

supadupapupascupa · 20/02/2014 08:29

I've just bought THIS. It's gorgeous!

supadupapupascupa · 20/02/2014 08:32

And a while back I bought Red,size:32/34 This Cardigan A really lovely flattering rusty coloured cardi for layering. The tunic above looks gorgeous with jeans!

ToffeeWhirl · 20/02/2014 10:15

Am also tempted by those cords...

Lovely Joe Brown stuff, supa.

supadupapupascupa · 20/02/2014 14:57

I am about to start repinning from your pinterest boards. I am NOT a stalker Grin but you all have fabby ideas

Snowdown · 20/02/2014 18:49

Oh my god that jumper I like to earlier from M&S was a while new brand of hideousness.

lougle · 20/02/2014 20:06

You saw it in the flesh, Snowdon? Grin

Seri77 · 20/02/2014 20:16

From having said I won't buy anything til slimmer, I'm now bidding for things on ebay Confused.

Wow Lougle that's a lot of stars at 100%, so much choice. Are there any colours you would never have considered before? And you sound like you had a fab time with Travelincolour. Let me know if you find anything in applejade, haven't tracked anything down yet and all my other ** are dark.

Supa I'm hoping to go for a make up lesson this year and get my official HOC lippy then but in the meantime I wear revlon lip butter in candy apple outside the house and a combo of red & orange revlon lip crayon inside where I feel bolder!

Please vote for cardigan colour for an autumn leaf: cinnabar or tea rose. Link. I plan to order it this weekend. Thank you Smile

supadupapupascupa · 20/02/2014 20:23

Seri i vote cinnabar.

I'm still too scared to not wear peach lippy. I agree the bold colours (and autumn lips are BOLD) suit me colour wise, but I have tiny skinny lips.....still prefer a nude and big up the eyes.

lougle · 20/02/2014 20:25

I did have a lovely time, Seri77.

Ermm...yes..colours. I was surprised at oyster, amber and heliotrope. I wasn't surprised at the deeper browns/greens, but was quite surprised that the lighter ones were my strong point.

I'm still trying to get my head around the 'soft blue' part of my season.

travelincolour said it was because I'm warm, but only just. It took quite a while to decide that I was a warm colouring - the drapes kept going on and off.

I already knew that white wasn't good on me, so it wasn't a surprise that Winter was out. Summer's yellow made me look like I was positively ill Grin and the spring colours were (to use travelincolour's phrasing) 'cheap' on me.

But 'soft blue' autumn sounds quite tricky. Is anyone else here 'soft blue' autumn?

ToffeeWhirl · 20/02/2014 20:25

Yep, I vote cinnabar too, Seri.

lougle · 20/02/2014 20:42

I make that three, Seri Smile
