Actually I think they would be too browny for most summers. I'm calling them rosewood.

Hopefully · 23/01/2014 12:01

Some lovely Joseph bits on the outnet today, some nice creams and a bit of dark olive. Loving some silk harem pants, but not exactly the most practical purchase I could make.

Snowdown · 24/01/2014 14:59

Just ordered a yellow rain coat from petit bateau, I wanted one of these for the summer....just a little smug at getting 50% off.

Ordered some stuff for the dcs Boden and ended up slipping in a few items for myself - they have lots of autumn yellows, reds and a few greens that appealed, I ordered lots of tops and shorts but nothing fitted or looked right. I did however score with these apple green loafers, I can't wear ballet flats - they never fit properly but these shoes are perfect....just need some sun now!!

ToffeeWhirl · 27/01/2014 00:31

Have just spent my voucher at House of Fraser (received after I returned a dress). Bought these jeans in forest green. Quite refreshing to buy jeans that aren't blue for a change.

Snowdown - well done at the discount on the lovely yellow coat and on the shoe purchase.

Toast Well cobalt blue isn't actually an autumn colour IMO (certainly not in the HoC system), so it sounds a bit strange from the start. Also the reds can be quite deep but they are the rusty side, rather than the darker burgundy side, iykwim.

Love the jeans Toffee.

Hopefully · 27/01/2014 06:39

Oh, and I decided to keep the Joseph dress in the end - decided it toned in well with my colours, and will be a really useful dress when I'm not hugely pregnant or BFing.

ToffeeWhirl · 27/01/2014 07:08

Toast - you can see the Autumn palette here. There is no way of knowing what season you are from your colouring, by the way. You can have two people with very similar colouring who are different seasons. The consultant at my colour analysis told me that your season is down to the undertone of your skin and can only be determined by holding the colours up against your face (with no make up on and in unforgiving daylight ).

Hopefully - you can never have too many dresses Wink.

I think I may be the queen of leaving things back and trying to shoe horn new shades into my colour palate.
Shoes are going back, although perfect apple shade they are just a bit too pastel for comfort, I feel slightly irked when I look at them for not being a shade deeper. I have ordered more green loafers from Hudson.
Biker jacket from jigsaw going back - bright green and now a khaki one I found in the sale - it just doesn't work with the rest of my colours.
Bought a lovely scarf really looked like the dark bits were green and the lights bits lizard grey....but it's dark grey and light grey. God I love it so much but in the cold light of day it doesn't love me! I might cry when I hand it back. On the bright side I got this t shirt half price in John Lewis and it is ridiculously flattering on my generous boobage.
Put a massive order in with Zara, should be here this week and ordered a green leather jacket among other bits from from asos....still finding my feet with this whole colour malarky.
Oh and I discover a dye for polyester, so I may dye my whistles jacket now knowing that I can dye the thread if need be.
I love the start of the season all the new stuff coming in - I'll get bored in a few weeks and give my credit card a well deserve rest.

ToffeeWhirl · 28/01/2014 10:34

Does this look like the right yellow for an Autumn? One of my two-star colours is mustard yellow, but I'm wondering if this is too bright.

Hopefully · 28/01/2014 13:33

Toffee it will definitely tone in well with the autumn colours. I would think if you ** in mustard it will be good on you.

ToffeeWhirl · 28/01/2014 14:35

Thanks, Hopefully. I've never worn that colour before, but I'm tempted now...

ToffeeWhirl · 28/01/2014 14:36

Would go nicely with my green jeans too Smile.

Snowdown · 29/01/2014 06:38

Some new purchases....

petrol blue pumps
flowery trousers
purple t shirt
gold leather pumps

jennimoo · 29/01/2014 06:50

Lovely things, the purple tshirt is great. However I'm now attempting a spending ban in preparation for my style day in March :)

Snowdown · 29/01/2014 07:11

I've been on a spending ban since October, so I'm having a small spree. The style day sounds great, I wish I'd done something like that in my 20s, look forward to hearing all about it.

My consultant told me on my colour day that I had a dramatic style, it's funny but it almost gave me permission to dress less conservatively again, to think it was absolutely fine to find classic styles dull on me, I always thought it was just my refusal to grow up but her words really helped me on the road to rediscovering me again!

jennimoo · 29/01/2014 07:15

I think I'll find it really helps my confidence in picking stuff out, like the colour day did, as I'm much better with set rules to follow!

sotiredfornow · 29/01/2014 11:36

I'm really concerned I'll not be able to buy any summer clothes this year! I need summer dresses (mini and maxi) in vibrant autumn colours. I've been browsing online and everything 'new in' is very much springy colours! Arghhh.

OhBuggerandArse · 29/01/2014 14:04

Oh, I like those blue pumps, Snowdown. How is the sizing? I am always between sizes so need to decide whether to go for a 38 or 39.

Hopefully · 29/01/2014 15:08

sotired I tend to find it easier to buy khaki/coral/apricot/oyster/orange in summer. Vibrant autumn colours pop up occasionally (especially orange!) but not all that often. Add the vibrancy with some accessories Wink

Nice haul snowdown.

Snowdown · 29/01/2014 15:56

A few more pieces....

Orange sleeveless top such a great colour!

cowl neck t shirt

Can I get away with this?

And these might be pushing it but if they tone with my wardrobe and are pain free I just might!

I haven't received the navy pumps yet, just ordered them last night, will let you know when they arrive, but they have elastic around them so I'm hoping they are going to stay on my feet.

Petit bateau yellow rain coat was lovely quality but the sleeves were too short and I probably need something more fitted, great colour though, so sad it has to go back.

Hopefully · 29/01/2014 16:16

Snow the Jigsaw floral top is probably pushing a bit beyond the autumn boundaries - the blue based blue (rather than a teal shade) plus the black splodges pushes it too far towards cool I reckon.

I am on the hunt for a new silk shirt I think. Have decided to wear one to my dad's birthday party when I'll be three weeks post natal. I have a cream one that will do the job, but quite fancy something new.

Snowdown · 29/01/2014 16:27

I have bought this shirt and it's beautiful and it's an Autumn shade but I think it may be a little bit subtle for me and I'm a bit worried about it being a bit too classic in style. It's too pricey to take a punt.

Snowdown · 29/01/2014 16:28

Zara also have silk shirts - one in a dark yellow...but I'm not sure it would fit over a bump.

Hopefully · 29/01/2014 16:42

It's for post natal, so hopefully no bump! Well, less than I'm currently sporting, anyway. Will check out zara Smile
