ATM. Not atom.

charitygirl · 25/11/2013 15:56

Hopefully that is SO helpful. Hurrah, sod you leggings, I'm closing down your browser window.

That reminds me - I have an old forest green nightie from John Lewis, but yes, slim sleep pickings for an Autmn.

Toffee I've only got one scarf in a ** colour yet, have not found any suitable tops yet. I do have a 1 star colour top in a colour I'd never have previously considered yet does look very good on me so I'm keen to find something.

I saw a chocolate brown fleece dressing gown on the debenhams website but would like to see it in person before I buy to make sure it's decent enough quality as its £45. Also considering a red one from M&S at £25, they also have teal but it looks light and bright like a spring teal.

The style day was excellent, well worth the money. I did actually use to dress more or less in my style at uni as we found when I brought my clothes to the style day (natural romantic) but have slipped since graduating and slipped more since having a child.

jennimoo · 25/11/2013 19:20

Hopefully - that dress is fabulous! A bit more than I could spend at the mo, especially as I should lose a bit more baby weight the next few months. That's definitely my favourite colour, not just from the autumn palette: overall favourite!

evelynj · 25/11/2013 20:50

Ooh seri-I'm a natural romantic too, yay! I found that I was more or less good colours as a teen but veered away as an adult & thought, I'm not 15 any more!

Off to check on those dressing gowns-cheers!

I got a lovely royal purple satin dress from m&s a few years ago but it's not something you see too often, (I only bought it as it was about £7 down from £70 odd!)

I'm thinking of asking for a couple of kettlewell scarves for Christmas in harder to find * colours, e.g. -rosewood & old gold. Is kettlewell the only place to find our colours constantly?

charitygirl · 25/11/2013 21:19

Oh I like those trousers kitten!

evelynj · 25/11/2013 21:23

Ooh, might gamble on this hoping its teal (says dark turquoise)

On a mission with nightwear! Am sure asda will have autumn stuff at some stage-their pjs are ok

ToffeeWhirl · 26/11/2013 13:35

I have been window shopping for my new colours online. Would appreciate opinions on the Autumness or otherwise of these:

Mustard yellow jumper

Brown skinny jeans

Bronze tunic (not sure whether I like this or not....)

Olive jumper

Dark green tee shirt

Dark green extra-warm tee shirt

Teal/kingfisher top

Green top

Green cardigan

I can't buy all of these, so I'd be interested to hear opinions!

jennimoo · 26/11/2013 14:45

Colour-wise I think they are all good choices. I'd think about how you feel about the 'tree look' before being a green top and brown trousers though as I've found I feel weird wearing those two, but probably just me ;)

ToffeeWhirl · 26/11/2013 15:57

Hadn't thought of the 'tree look', jenni Grin.

ToffeeWhirl · 26/11/2013 17:06

Well, fortunately for my bank account, some of these were sold out. But I have bought the mustard ebay scarf mentioned further back, plus some teal and green tops. Still not sure about the coated jeans and they cost £36, so I'm going to sleep on that.

Has anyone found any Christmas outfits in Autumn colours?

Seri77 · 26/11/2013 17:45

Hi evelynj I got a kettlewell infinity scarf in spice red to liven up my too expensive to replace black coat? I'm looking for red gloves now. How are you getting on with the natural romantic style? I'm a bit scared I'll look OTT but I'm slowly changing things though I struggle to find suitable clothes in autumn colours.

I just received this gorgeous jumper as my Christmas present to myself, someone linked to it on the previous thread. I think it's very natural romantic in style as it has subtle lurex thread and I can't wait to wear it at Christmas.

Toffee I fear the multi coloured poo look myself more than the tree. I'm still in black trousers though. I bought the normal uniqlo long sleeved crew neck in teal, green and orange and they all go very well with the swatch book.

Think you might need to try the bronze top on, difficult to tell on laptop screen.

Love the dark turquoise robe, think I might go for that to replace current fuchsia monstrosity.

jennimoo · 26/11/2013 18:45

What's the chances this is the right purple?

[[http://bit.ly/194wStj eBay dress]

I'm not sure it would actually fit / suit me but it could be good for my Christmas parties.

ToffeeWhirl · 26/11/2013 20:59

Can't see the link, jenni. Funnily enough, I have just bought a purple dress too: this one. Have a horrible feeling it won't be the right purple, but it was reduced...

onlysettleforbutterflies · 26/11/2013 21:06

Toffee I posted about those coated jeans last week, they're fab but do start to bag slightly after being worn all day, so if you can try and size down.

ToffeeWhirl · 26/11/2013 21:10

Oh, that's useful to know, only - thank you.

evelynj · 26/11/2013 21:46

Seri-nice jumper! I'm** in the poo colours too! At least they're easy to get hold of tho...

Jennimoo-that purple looks quite berry on my screen but you never know.

I went to a gig last sun & popped into primark-got an olive bobble hat with gold bits & a teal infinity scarf & tomato red jersey maxi skirt for £2, £3 &£5!

I'm suspending all spending now but would like some autumn socks to put on my Christmas wish list!

jennimoo · 27/11/2013 02:03

eBay dress

I think you're right Evelyn. I wouldn't risk it on eBay I don't think.

sweetmelody · 27/11/2013 05:53

this dress was linked to further up the thread and my order (red and green, as couldn't decide between the two) arrived yesterday. Sold out of the 12 so fingers were crossed for the 10.... They both fit look gorgeous and fit beautifully, despite the copious amounts of fabric and the hideously creased state that they arrived in. The red is a definite orangey-red. Gutted that I paid full price as I think there is a 10% code floating around (although probably neither here nor there). Can't decide which to keep. Might wear on Xmas day (too dressy?) but also thinking I might be able to dress up for the work Xmas party (not dressy enough?)

charitygirl · 27/11/2013 06:16

So pleased it looks good on you - am now wondering whether I should have sized down as agree it was incredibly voluminous. Will you be wearing it with camisole, can I ask?!

sweetmelody · 27/11/2013 07:43

Weeeeelll, it's a borderline call at the moment. I am small of norkage (not used that on Mumsnet, or anywhere else for that matter, before!), and have a sticky-outy bottom (but hips are pretty straight). Love the way the loose top half balances me out. It wasn't too revealing when I tried it on (the 'v' certainly wasn't as deep as it is on the model) but I can imagine that as the belt loosens throughout the day or evening, I could find myself indecently exposed.

Or maybe not... It's a shame cos Im not sure it would look as good with a camisole. Would have to be the same colour to maintain that block colour effect.

First own-brand ASOS purchase and was pleasantly surprised at the quality (but I do like viscose if I'm going manmade).

Going to wear mine with (lizard grey - get me!) snakeskin, pointy-toe courts Smile

sotiredfornow · 27/11/2013 12:49

OK girls, some recent purchases that I can recommend!

forest green skater dress - really quite nice in real life. Good shape, reasonable quality fairly thick jersey and a nice neckline. Wearing mine with tights and ankle boots.

oxblood skater dress - exactly the same thoughts as for above dress

geranium red evening top - lovely warm red. back is slightly sheer so nude bra needed. I sized up one size. Draping at front is flattering and conceals a belly. Nice with jeans/trousers for night out. Gorgeous colour.

teal chiffon blouse

flannel shirt

red evening top - bright but gorgeous for vibrant/deep autumns
