A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Have ordered these jeans as an alternative to leather (which I can't afford) - assuming they're not too shiny they might work with a chunky knit? Have linked on here for those who can't see the private Pin board (and of course the lurkers :) )

Ugh, today has proved expensive. It's my niece, nephew AND their dad's birthdays all in the next five days! The presents will be crappily wrapped as well as I can't do it and DP is dire at gift wrapping Hmm

Drywhiteplease · 19/09/2013 15:52

Hello all! Been a bit hectic chez moi.
QueenC I have a booze fridge in the garage.....my dry white was safe Grin..... Things you have worn and loved sometimes look wrong because I think your fashion eye changes iykwim.......
Novice parties are a nightmare.......luckily once out of primary the numbers of guest dwindle, £10 was my spend limit, £15 for good friends.
Marsha I love that your sisters on here too! hello sqiffy
Amber I will never again buy Gap cords....I bought some a few years back and they grew a lot.....maybe if they have a high elastane content this time they'll be better.
Shop " boyfriendalike" jeans Hmm a perfect term for what I like in.
Justa even with a complete keyboard I type crap most of the time!

Ok;
Fridge freezer back working phew
Mysterious leak under my oak floor has now spread into family room, soggy carpet, plumber coming later phew
Dining room is stripped, but all the plaster came off as well as the wall paper. who needs nice walls anyway, they're over rated
Have bought a lot of homemade looking food for my guests this weekend.....no time to cook and put house back together Grin
Garage fridge filled with wine Wink
Had a great dinner with 10 v chic ladies.....lots of black leather jackets, skinny jeans ESP olive, Mulberry bags galore (I took Nancy) v smart....felt a bit underdressed!Shock...but! I had a great convo with a lovely dentist who turns out to be a neighbour! about teeth whitening and Botox a new improved me?
And I win crap mum of the week by telling my petulant DS (teenaged ) when he was rude to me this morning to "get lost" while throwing the roll of tin foil at his head! Sad

Annianni · 19/09/2013 15:53

Does anyone have a jcrew discount code?

Annianni · 19/09/2013 15:55

Dry :o

Hope you get your leak fixed.

RubyLovesShopping · 19/09/2013 15:55

Shopfall is for 25% off but may only work on us site

RubyLovesShopping · 19/09/2013 15:56

Insider should work too.

RubyLovesShopping · 19/09/2013 16:15

Having a rare half hour of mn while dc play in garden lively sunny afternoon. Getting v excited about my impending shopping trip to big city, compiling list if shops to search for elusive coat and boots for autumn. Thought I wanted a peacoat but after wandering round Burberry outlet the other day wondering if I actually want a trench coat. Tried the gap trench but was a strange fit on the shoulders going to try massimo dutti at the weekend. Just wanted to contribute a little as I try to read a little but each day but can never keep up!

shopafrolic · 19/09/2013 16:45

Dry you can't have my award! I won't let you.
Bummer about the leak - hope it gets fixed soon. At least there's wine. A dentist who does Botox? Hmm
Boyfriendalikes are my straight leg jeans that are a size too big so look like boyfriend jeans.
Anni Insider is the code I have too for 25% off - what are you after?
Ruby I'm envious of sunshine - it's raining here - DS just wants to be outside. I'm v happy with my peacoat - I think it'll be good for getting in and out of the car all the time. One day I'll get a trench, when DS is a little older.

Can anyone help me find something like these but fewer £££? Even with 25% off they are vv expensive but I love them and can feel myself crumbling

OneLittleLady · 19/09/2013 17:05

Didn't M&S have something very similar to those grumpy or have I lost all sense of reason?

santamarianovella · 19/09/2013 17:39

OneLittleLady · 19/09/2013 17:47

Shoulder is ok santa stiff and sore as is to be expected but not as painful as I was expecting which is a bonus Smile

I have also had some good news from the university . The course leader has said he sees no reason for me not to be successful next year and wants to meet with me after christmas to discuss my application for next year Grin

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:10

Thanks Ruby and Shop, I've ordered the vintage tee in navy (crew neck) and grey (v neck)
blatantly copied off Shop

I've bought a grey tee from Gap, but think I'll return it... I'm between sizes and I think it's a bit too big.

Ds2 was a complete pain didn't want to shop (and I only went to gap) didn't want me to look at clothes, didn't want me trying anything on... You get the idea!

I tried the navy boyfriend cords and it wasn't pretty :o
I tried some navy coated jeans and looked hideous with shiny lumps and bumps.

I did try the knitted biker in navy in a smaller size and it's nice, but has stupidly long arms.
I'd like to try the grey again.

I saw a lovely blue cashmere crew neck sweater, but didn't get to try it.
Also a lovely slouchy cardigan, and a nice boucle type jacket.

I did get some maybelline brow drama, which is fab.
I got the mid brown, and would like to try the darker one.
Also got the gel varnish in cassis extreme, which is on 2 nails so far and looks lovely.

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:11

Why is my phone doing double posts?!

shopafrolic · 19/09/2013 18:11

Their gel varnish is fab Anni
Shopping trips are so hard with toddlers in tow aren't they? Wine for you tonight.
I love those vintage tees, but the linen one I bought is the best of the bunch - shame they don't seem to be making them for AW......

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:14

Marsha how can your dh not like the boots?
They are fabulous!

Did it feel nice putting a completely new outfit on?
And how many times did you change your top?
:o

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:15

Don't mention the linen tee's... still gutted my grey one shrank Sad

I have the white but it's not as nice.

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:17

He wanted carrying Shop, which is hard in heels with a bad back.
He got on the scales earlier and he weighs 2lb 2oz's, so I can't carry him for long.

Annianni · 19/09/2013 18:18

2st 2lbs!!!!!!

shopafrolic · 19/09/2013 18:27

I sympathise. DS is 2st 7lbs now and always asks to be carried as he hates the buggy - hence a lot of the tantrums I think as I keep refusing Grin

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 19/09/2013 18:34

DS always wants me to pick him up but he's almost as big as me Sad

LinusDKD · 19/09/2013 19:22

Good news about uni one! And about your shoulder.

dry shall we share the award today? DS was being a complete pain about food today (even more than usual) so I'm afraid I lost it a bit. No food was thrown though. ;-)

DH and I are sharing a cheeky half bottle of champagne tonight! Grin

LinusDKD · 19/09/2013 19:36

This tee is exactly what I am looking for but it's 65% polyester. WHY!!!
