A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Jeepers, Marsha, that's quite a spree! Lovely stuff.

Fab shoes, Amber.

Boden do free returns so worth a try on the jeans, QueenC.

The DKNY black coat you found came back into stock Anni, I was just about to order when I noticed it has elbow length sleeves, not much good to me. So ordered this instead.

Mig I was reading your post on the NY thread, you took me back. We used to go to Norma's a lot, DH worked there a lot before we moved there and always stayed in the Parker Meridian. I love that hotel.

Decameron · 18/09/2013 17:11

He worked in NY a lot, not in Norma's, that is!

McNally · 18/09/2013 17:24

Wow Marsha that is quite some shopping trip. Must have been very satisfying. Gorgeous stuff! You are well and truly sorted for Autumn. The Marant coat is lovely and the colour of the scarf is beautiful.

Thank you for that cross body bag link Linus. Was wondering which you used, didn't expect you to look for me, but very grateful that you did! Great bag. Will have a proper look/think tonight.

That is again rubbish service from Sandro liberty. That sort of thing gives me the rage. How difficult would it be for them to pass on the message to the right department?! They do all work for the same company after all. Very frustrating.

Fabulous shoes Amber.

MarshaBrady · 18/09/2013 17:56

Thanks I feel a bit Blush about all the links, perhaps I should have split it up. Even taxi driver said you did all your shopping in one go.

It will be the odd outnet speciale from now on.

Sleepwhenidie · 18/09/2013 18:08

Marsha how lovely Smile - gorgeous things, I especially adore the coat.

Amber I love the shoes...

Mig glad your shoes are fixable! How are the bruises? The 80's exhibition at the V&A is really fun, not very big but really made me Smile, you would love it.

Mom how are you doing? Sorry about your accident, sounds awful Sad

Dry - is your house falling apart?!

Liberty definitely let me know when you are back in town for that meeting and I will try and come and say hi Grin.

I have just ordered this skirt and these jeans from the outlet. I have tried on loads of leather skirts, ended up with a Zara one on Monday but I'm not convinced about it....

Decameron · 18/09/2013 18:34

Enjoy it, Marsha, it's nice to be spoiled sometimes!

Cool skirt and jeans, Sleep.

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 18:38

Marsha those boots are to die for! LOVE - please wear them to the MU - stunning
Love the coat / jacket - is that the one we saw instore?
All gorgeous - sounds as though you had fun.
I love it - no shopping for ages, but when you do it's super spectacular.

Liberty AWFUL (and yes I am shouting) customer service.
Amber gorgeous shoes - hope you had a fun day

Wow marsha! That is some serious shopping! I love everything you linked.

That Acne scarf looks so comfy I will look for one in a colour that suits me.

McNally sorry I misunderstood. The cross body bags I use are the Céline Trio and Nano, a red Cambridge satchel, a small LV crossbody bag and a teal Tod's D Bag (but that's sometimes a bit too bulky to wear cross body).

Right, tonight I am attempting a home manicure. Wish me luck!

AmberNectarine · 18/09/2013 18:51

I did have a good day Shop, though there was heartache. I found a lovely navy peacoat in Burberry and dithered - when I came back to buy it the 8 had gone. Boo. It obviously wasn't meant to be!

The shoes are very beautiful. Always nice to add to my collection of ridiculously impractical footwear. They will get their inaugural wear tomorrow night.

Was also gutted to see the All Saints and Gerard Darel outlets have gone - two of my favourites!

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 19:21

I've done that before in Burberry there Amber with a beautiful jacket. 2 minutes later and it had gone!

Am imagining Marsha skipping round in front of DH in her new boots!

santamarianovella · 18/09/2013 20:34

mig i must have missed it,hope you are better now,

sleep love the skirt,i was looking for something similar ,the only one i liked was a wang skirt, but thought it was expensive.

dry hope your fridge is fixed by now!

liberty i really laughed when you said that sandro should meet j.crew,it! french people have the worst customer service ever! such arrogance ! glad all is well with you and your dh,

dec im gonna write down all those places you and mig mentioned, would love to go again .

marsha no need to feel Blush, enjoy it,

justasecond · 18/09/2013 20:37

Evening all! Sometime poster and on off lurker here. I would love to join in the chat with you friendly lot but I can only type at snails pace since ds pulled half the keys off my laptop a while ago Blush. Loving all the links A/W really is my fave season.
Anni glad the coat worked out for you, I wonder if I should also size down..
Marsha love everything you bought, very wise buys.
Amber You have to make quick decisions at BV, I am still mourning missing out on some Rag & Bone boots there a couple of weeks ago. I also spent ages looking for All Saints until I realised it was gone! Love the shoes I reeally like zebra print. I have never made it into the Gucci shop due to the huge queues at the weekend not that it is really my price range anyway!

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 20:39

Waves to justasecond

QueenCadbury · 18/09/2013 20:41

Ah, the Parker meridian brings back memories. That's where dh and I stayed when we got engaged.

dry hope your fridge is better otherwise how will you chill your Chablis Grin.

dec after reading the reviews for the Boden jeans I decided against it as I'd need to order at least 4 different sizes and I can't be arsed. It's a shame as it's the only place where I can find straight leg grey jeans (in my price range!)

justasecond · 18/09/2013 20:44

Hello shop!

QueenCadbury · 18/09/2013 20:46

I meant to ask, does anyone have anything in their wardrobe that they've owned and loved for years, worn loads, always felt good in it and then one year you put it on and it just doesn't feel right Confused? I've got a short grey trench jacket which I've always loved wearing, it's a great colour on me but today it just felt wrong and I have no idea why. I'll try it again and see but it may be headed for the charity shop in which case I'll need a new grey jacket!

justasecond · 18/09/2013 20:51

Queen I was going to try some Boden jeans with my £15 voucher in the post today but like you can't be bothered as the reviews suggest inconsistent sizing. I am actually after some dark grey skinnies that are actual denim and are not skintight or too loose either, not fussy am I?
I actually bought some from Cos but am not 100% about them, not online otherwise would link.

santamarianovella · 18/09/2013 20:55

justasecond welcome back!

queen yes,i have a dress that i tried a while back and didnt feel right, but dont give it away yet, wait you might change your mind,i also have a few things i thought looked old or bad on me and gave away or ebayed and now miss them like crazy.

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 20:55

Yes QueenC ! Those black 7FAM bootcut cords that I wore when trying on my peacoat on the MNV board. I used to love them until I saw those pics.

OP posts:
Sleepwhenidie · 18/09/2013 20:58

santa do you mean the Wang skirt with a zip? If so take comfort, my friend tried it and she said it is really narrow (narrower) around the bottom, so she couldn't walk properly Smile, so she sent it back to Matches. Allsaints have some nice ones, I tried the longer one with diagonal zip (short one waaay too short for me) but the split under the zip came too high for me - above mid thigh Sad. Lots of other around but most are high waisted, which I don't want.

LinusDKD · 18/09/2013 21:00

Nail done and they don't look too bad. My cuticles are schocking though.

I wonder when I will have my first chipped nail.

Hi justasecond!

Time for bed. Night all.

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 21:04

Linus reapply topcoat every day to help your nails last. Sleep well!

OneLittleLady · 18/09/2013 21:08

evening all, I return after yesterdays little dealings with GA and file (drill?)

I am fine, stiff and sore but they say it went really well, are convinced they got all the excess bone and are satisfied I will make a good recovery.
