HoC Autumns

Thought I'd start a thread for autumns as the spring and winters threads seem busy and I feel I'm missing out!

I'm an autumn leaf and going for the style day soon. I haven't bought much this year as only had colours done a couple of months ago and waiting to discover my style before spending. I have been decluttering my wardrobe quite ruthlessly as I had a lot of the wrong colours/tatty clothes.

I did buy some Kettlewell tops and have had a few compliments so I certainly believe that colour analysis works.

Unfortunately my autumn/winter coats are black but expensive so I won't be replacing them for at least a couple of years.

Any suggestions for colourful hats/scarves/gloves to lift the black? High street brands please as I can't get parcels delivered to home.

Autumns, I am drawn to this cardigan, even though an oversized, waterfall, acrylic number is everything I usually steer away from. I think to calling to the 'natural' in me.

I like that too charitygirl. I think the nod to the tribal fashion stops it being frumpy.

AutumnLeafMyArse · 17/10/2013 12:39

My lovely husband has bought me these boots from Clarks for my birthday which is in a couple of weeks time. Well, I'll be showing him tonight what he's bought me anyway Wink. My lovely Mum has also offered to send me on the style day as a birthday gift, weyhey!!!!!!! Grin

CuriosityCola · 17/10/2013 13:07

Just received this scarf in the post. It's lovely. Not as bright as it looks in the photo. It's a deeper mustard colour. snood

onlysettleforbutterflies · 17/10/2013 13:22

Oooh I like that charitygirl!

Whitecat · 17/10/2013 13:38

I'm wearing this moss green skirt which has dots of purple, petrol blue and beige. I'm just ignoring the pink at the waist band because my tops will cover it. I was finding wearing plain colours a bit bland so I'm pleased I found this. The only thing I'm not keen on is the wool lining the waistband but tights hitched up is solving that problem.
I like that orange dress only

CuriosityCola · 17/10/2013 15:13

Charity, that cardi is lovely. Only, I love those items. I find it hard to judge colour on my phone, but love the look of the dress.

charitygirl · 17/10/2013 20:35

Ooh more nice things - lovely snood! And am starting to feel convinced on the cardi...

MillyMillyMe · 18/10/2013 01:46

Whiteman I love that skirt. I have the blue sleeveless cardi but in a longer version, from last year. Grin

Hopefully · 18/10/2013 14:31

Like that cardi charity.

Autumn how exciting, you'll have to let us know your diagnosis!

Mission for anyone who's bored. Find me some decent maternity clothes (trousers especially) in Autumn colours! Don't much care whether they're £10 or £100, clothes are urgently needed.

CuriosityCola · 18/10/2013 16:01

The maternity wear from here is lovely. I actually still wear one of the knitted jumpers.

www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes.html

Otherwise I would get your basics from new look. When is your due date? The winter pregnancy wardrobe is much easier than summer. Leggings and jumper dresses are your friend. Teamed with cardigans you already have. I don't buy maternity ones, as I ended up looking fat rather than pregnant, due to too much material. That might just be me though Smile Do you need work clothes too?

CuriosityCola · 18/10/2013 16:05

Asos also have a good range. jeans

charitygirl · 18/10/2013 23:02

Are you asking for a friend hopefully? Or for you...how exciting! I'd check Asos as the ranges I've seen in real life are never autumnal.

Snowlike · 19/10/2013 16:50

The Hush long harems in charcoal arrived today and they still are as charity described, more brown than grey, thank you, they are perfect! I also ordered the rushed skirt in shadow which translated into a good deep chocolate brown shade, currently unavailable on website but I called them and they found my size in the warehouse, again a keeper.

MelanieCheeks · 19/10/2013 17:44

Wearing heliotrope skinnies today (Thanks QOW!), with a duck egg blue 3/4 sleeved T under a green knitted tunic.

charitygirl · 20/10/2013 08:57

So glad you liked the harems snow - I wouldn't be without them!

Doearwigsmakechutney · 20/10/2013 20:21

This thread is a source of great inspiration and vast expense! I'm a devoted lurker.

I bought this scarf the other day, and it's gorgeous - great autumn colours. I got it to go with the slouch dress, which others recommended. The dress did nothing for me, but I love the scarf.

In my endless quest for straight leg trousers, I ordered these cords in teal and chocolate. They were not for me, but true to size and useful basics.

I'd love a link to the heliotrope skinnies... They sound wonderful.

CuriosityCola · 21/10/2013 13:05

Love the scarf chutney. I order myself a couple of scarfs and then dh bought me one. I now have more mustard / autumnal scarfs than I could ever need Grin

onlysettleforbutterflies · 21/10/2013 13:47

The green rose print dress linked to way up thread is now in the sale in Oasis for £25 green dress

onlysettleforbutterflies · 21/10/2013 13:50

Sorry forgot to say, the purple River Island dress someone else recommended has also gone in the sale purple dress, also a few mustard bits and pieces.

charitygirl · 21/10/2013 15:00

Wearing that dress today only - am tempted to buy a spare at that price! It's not exactly forgiving, but it's a great midi-length and looks great with a cardi and scarf.

onlysettleforbutterflies · 21/10/2013 15:24

That's why I'm not getting it charity, I need things to be a bit kinder at the moment! Gorgeous colour tho!

QueenofWhatever · 21/10/2013 15:54

I fear I have made an expensive mistake. I was looking for warm, toasty slippers, and looked at the Celtic Sheepskin website. What lovely clothes, just my sort of thing. I could easily spend £500 in a few minutes. I love this dress, in all three colours.

earwigs the heliotrope skinnies were from H&M earlier this summer. They do some good colours, but I'm not so keen on the styling or quality of the fabrics.

I like those teal trousers you linked to from John Lewis. What made you send them back?

Snowlike · 21/10/2013 16:26

Queen I have that dress in rust - I love it - Have also just bought this cardigan it's not strictly Autumn colours but it tones with my wardrobe and the colour looks good on me and the shape is fabulous, I fell in love with it, can you tell? Grin and I got 20% off! It would be rude not to keep it!

MillyRules · 21/10/2013 19:10

Does the Celtic Sheepskin dress not make you itch though? Im itchy with wool unfortunately.
