Sorry "Jaeger" duh

OneLittleLady · 28/07/2013 23:10

I'd love any kind of massage but I can't have one anywhere near my back or shoulders because of my dodgy arm Sad I might go for a mini facial in the next few weeks though, my skins playing up and could do with some TLC

santamarianovella · 28/07/2013 23:17

liberty ouch! thought it was a hot stone massage, but i bet you feel a million times better after it.

one you can ask them not to go near your trouble areas,

LinusDKD · 29/07/2013 01:07

queenc I agree with the others, from your pins I get the idea you are a very stylish dresser.

shop this afternoon I tried on those Madewell leopard flats you have been lusting after. They were really nice and super comfy but I prefer a more rounded toe. So still no animal print for me.

I did try on that splodgy leopard print LV scarf (what a lovely description) a couple of days ago but it was ££££.

I also tried those J Crew tees you recently bought but the teal wasn't quite right for me and the icy blue neither unfortunately. I was tempted to buy the white or navy tee but I have plenty of those already so I didn't.

Or and they had an absolutely gorgeous cobalt long sleeved tee but the neckline was too high for me.

Their cashmere was lovely as well but I prefer cardigans to jumpers and none of the colours suited me.

DH bought some lovely shirts there though and we bought a lovely J Crew dress for DD.

Soho is full of lovely shops (Alexander Wang, Anthropologie, Theory, etc) but as it started raining we went to dinner a bit earlier than planned.

sleep when I'm back home and have a moment I'll try and make a list of all the nice shops I went to.

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 07:22

Linus the pointed toe is why I love those Madewell flats. How was the sizing? I'm still tempted to ask Novice to grab me a pair one day......
Sounds as though you're having a fabulous time. Fingers crossed my J Crew tees will arrive today.

Morning all. Thank you for all your help nd comments. I checked the calendar and realised why I'm feeling like this. Hopefully by Thursday the hormones will be back to normal! My plan is to wear the navy monsoon if it's hot or the jaegar with either cropped navy or black trousers or jeans.

Little dd at nursery so need to decide what fun to have with the big dc!

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 08:44

Oh QueenC hormones are responsible for most of my wardrobe insecurities! At least you know the reason now though and can get back to feeling amazing soon! Both outfits sound fab - you'll look amazing I'm sure.
Just read this and am not inspired AW13 trends

Morning all! This happens every time we go away! Dh sleeps blissfully and I bloody wake up when ds would normally be shouting "mummy mummy" Hmm. We had such a great time yesterday, very us.Grin We're staying in St Martin's Lane (totally rubbish guess by me!), had a few afternoon cocktails there then went for a romantic dinner at Ed's Easy diner.GrinGrin Followed by Haagen Dazs, yummy! Then the cinema where for once I let dh choose, though I vetoed the flesh eating zombie Brad Pitt one!

Dh and I have had 3 conversations that have made me happy. First I told him why I was so cross and he acknowledged it. The problem with what we both do is that its confidential so we can't actually share what we are working on. It makes it hard when the other is stressed and you don't know why. Anyway it's not resolved and never will be as thats the nature of the job but at least we had a good chat about it.

We also had a brief conversation about clothes. On Saturday he said to his cousin, "my wife is hot isn't she?" which made me go BlushShock. Yesterday he was complimenting me on my outfit and I was saying how I have had this major wardrobe overhaul and he said it was well worth it as my new stuff really suited me and I look great all the time.Smile

Finally, I was teasing him and mock asking him whether I was getting jewelry this weekend and he said "no you get one big piece a year and that's it and you had the Boodles ring so you can wait till Christmas" Yippee! I was only teasing.Grin

QueenCadbury · 29/07/2013 09:01

novice now I have this image of you and dh being some kind of James Bond/miss moneypenny! Glad you're having a good time.

shop basically whatever the experts say are the trends the high street tends to churn out the same stuff each year in slightly different colours.

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 09:06

Nice one Novice - glad you've managed to talk things through. I have family members who do work they can't discuss - very frustrating for all!
I have a new Dyson and have just enjoyed hoovering for the first time in ages Blush

Novice we stayed at the St Martins back in summer 2003- lovely light changing switch behind our bed but probably horrified staff by putting plant cuttings 'liberated' from Kew Gardens in beakers on the lovely Phillip Stark table.

My DS loves Eds and the last time he went several years ago he started singing to a Dusty Springfield song on the juke and the security guard joined in. Got the whole place going. I want to try Danny Myers Shake Shack that has newly opened but apparently the burgers are not on a par with the US branches....

Glad to hear DH has been validating you heavily-it is always cool to hear stuff like that. DH used to be my clinical and managerial supervisor prior to our personal relationship so plenty of sharing but is more awkward now as he knows a lot of my clients from his previous position as senior CPN yet I cannot discuss them. he kind of guesses via osmosis when I have had a challenging day about why precisely that may be.

Looking forward to shopping the new season when I return. I have bought a few bits and pieces here that I will share with you all when I return but nothing that cutting edge, mostly filler items....Grin. And loads of toiletries. I adore French pharmacies. Cetaphil supplies replenished.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 29/07/2013 10:44

Hello Hello!

I am way too behind on the thread to reply to all but I have enjoyed keeping up with all the happenings even though you didn't know I was there!

QueenC I actually love that skirt you chose for me, espcially the lace hem. I really like the underwear as outerwear but am too chicken to try it. That skirt is a very happy compromise.

Kisses for the poorly cat!

Linus Envy

Novice Clearing the air with DH is always good. Even if issues can't be resolved it is nice to remember that your feelings are acknowledged.

One Well done on the weight loss. I fast 2 days a week. it works so well for me maintaining my weight and dropping a little with some restriction on top of it.

Dry My patterned pencil skirt hunt continues too. The A Wear skirt had an amazing print but the fabric made my teeth itch. I had to buy the bloody thing and take it back though because I got my top caught in the zip when I was trying it on! I was going to be late back to work so I had to take the skirt to the cash desk with top still stuck in zip and pay for it. I must've looked like a proper tit to the sales people! Luckily I had a jumper in my bag that I could wear to work in the afternoon. I was boiling though!

However, I have found THE perfect A/W print for me here. If they did a pencil skirt I would def buy it. The wide a line that it comes in is totally beautiful and ends just below the knee but I'm not sure it's me and I may feel a bit self concious in it. There are a couple of dress versions with pencil skirts but the fabric is a bit yuck compared with beautiful skirt, which is like very heavey, matte satin.

mignonette · 29/07/2013 11:24

Love that skirt Paris. Prints like that are so versatile as it will suit so many colours and it will hang beautifully and look heavenly. I am loving Midi skirts, I always have and am so glad to see the stores will be teeming with them. We have had the short skirt pushed at us for so long whereas this length is so much more me and suits work better. I am quite demure really in how I cover myself up although in colour/detail I go off the chart.

santamarianovella · 29/07/2013 11:44

linus i think european brands are more $$$$ in the US. i know that LV,and chanel are cheaper in europe.

shop read the A/W thread here in the s&b section its far more on trend!
seriously, there are some amazing tips there.

mig we went to shake shack, they were good actually, but i didnt like the fries.

paris i love the skirt, did you try it?

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 12:38

Which thread is that Santa? I can't see it on page 1?
Have just been to pick up a rose gold bracelet that I was having repaired and popped into Space NK for a few bits. I found a couple of good lipsticks for my Autumn skin tone but to wear day to day (not too bright) so I'm pleased - and a fab By Terry blusher.......
Still waiting for J Crew tees to arrive.....
Novice did you see my PM?

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 12:39

That is a beautiful skirt Paris. There is a lot of talk about Ted Baker ATM as it's their anniversary - some good stuff apparently - I need to take a closer look.

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 29/07/2013 12:50

santa you mentioning that European brands are more expensive in the US made me look up the UK prices for nanos and I piad about $ 500 more than you would have to pay in the UK.

I am really conflicted now as my local Céline store never has any nanos and you say that bright colours are not easy to find in Europe but that is such a big price difference. And we are leaving this afternoon so I'll have to make a decision soon.

Sorry about all the bag drama!

novice it sounds like you are having a wonderful time with your DH! In bling related news, I tried on the most gorgeous necklace and bracelet at Van Cleef and Arpels but as DH wants to buy me a new watch it's not the right time to buy it. I have told him that my 40th in two years time might be a good occasion Wink

shop I tried on the shoes on display which were a size 8 and they were a bit too big for me. I would probably have to go down half a size or even a whole size but I have small and slender feet (unlike the rest of me Wink)

Would you like me to pick up a pair for you?

The tees felt and looked really nice, just such a shame about the colours.

LinusDKD · 29/07/2013 13:06

Well, I just checked my receipt and the decision whether to take the bag back has been taken out of my hands as they don't do refunds, only store credit or exchange.

In a way I am glad they took the decision out of my hands because I really love the bag and I have been looking up outfits and yellow works with a surprising number of colours.

I will shut up now about bags Blush

QueenCadbury · 29/07/2013 13:29

That's great linus. It was meant to be.

paris that skirt is lovely.

Following on from yesterday's confidence crisis I'm really happy with today's outfit. Just a navy tee and rolled up jeans but the outfit is lifted by this belt. I'm really keen to get more coloured belt and might drag the kids to check this one out tomorrow when I take them to the cinema in town. If it's a good colour then I might take up dh's offer to buy me something as it'll go we'll with the white top and jeans.

shopafrolic · 29/07/2013 13:39

Linus I agree with QueenC the bag is meant to be. Thanks for the offer to pick up the flats but no funds ATM so will sit it out for a while longer...... You're very kind Flowers
QueenC glad the confidence is back :)
I'm so pleased that I got my bracelet repaired. It's just a plain rose gold charm bracelet (with no charms) and a heart shaped padlock. I had a safety chain added and a couple of links replaced and they've cleaned it - my Grandfather gave me it on my 18th birthday and sadly passed away 2 days later. It feels good to wear it again and it goes well with my MK watch.

I have an identical belt to that Violet Fossil Queen. It really lifts an outfit too. It actually belongs to DS and I borrowed it as he never wore it. It is really soft and flexible too. Belts kind of transcend trends don't they especially as having different lengths and widths means you can experiment with fastening styles.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 29/07/2013 13:44

Mig You are right about mid length. I think I need a few more ladylike items in my wardrobe, especially for going out.

Santa Yes, I tried it on. I'm quite short (5ft3) so it was much longer on me, about and inch below my knee which I think makes it look more striking than at knee length. All these comments makes me want to dash up the road and buy it!

Shop I know it's not popular on here but Ted Baker is my go to for event clothes as there are rarely other people wearing their stuff. They always do fab prints as well.

Linus What a fab bag! Glad the decision is made. I would love to see a link to the Van Cleef necklace and bracelet, I love their jewellery.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 29/07/2013 13:47

Lovely belt QueenC. Do House of Fraser stock Fossil? I might have a look.

QueenCadbury · 29/07/2013 13:48

shop I love jewellery that has sentimental value. I'm going to try on some rosé gold stuff before my birthday. My parents would like to buy me a watch so I'm either going to go rosé or white. Not sure whether rosé will suit my skin tone or not though. The only rose gold I have t the moment is this necklace which is mainly silver.
