Reminds!!!!!!!!

OneLittleLady · 26/07/2013 21:12

I saw that one earlier, made me giggle too dry

libertychick · 26/07/2013 21:12

Dry you sound like a great woman to go on the lash with! Did you manage to sort dinner, table collection etc?

I have never flown even premium economy let alone first! DH has with his previous job and he's one of those people who gets upgraded all the time too - sadly never when we are on hols.

(((Hugs)))) for novice.

QueenCadbury · 26/07/2013 21:15

dry I'd choose this!

novice I completely understand. When dh is on call for a week, me and dc don't exist at all. He's so emotionally removed from us all. I've learnt just to ignore it knowing that it'll all be ok afterwards.

Have had a really lovely afternoon with the dc (only 1 strop from dd1 where she stormed off ahead. I wound her up by laughing at her!) I've now had more than my fair share of a bottle of cava so am a little drunkGrin.

QueenCadbury · 26/07/2013 21:20

dry I saw that thread earlier and just thought why don't you buy a copy of grazia or whatever like the rest of us Confused.

liberty I've never had the pleasure either. I travelled all the way from Oxford to New Zealand wearing my wedding tiara and all I got was a bottle of fizz! I did get us an upgrade to a suite in Adelaide but was so knackered I fell sleep!

OneLittleLady · 26/07/2013 21:25

I've never ever flown at all Blush though I am meant to be going to florida in 2015

libertychick · 26/07/2013 21:27

£18k for a bag - now that is another world.

libertychick · 26/07/2013 21:32

one my brother treated his godfather to his first ever flight last year for his 70th birthday!! Really hope you get to Florida.

Drywhiteplease · 26/07/2013 22:23

liberty thanks for the compliment. I do like to go out....however lunch time drinking champagne is not good for me. Yes, furniture collected fine....I threw in the seat pads for free and received great feed back....

Queen that is some bag!!!

We were upgraded a few years ago on a trans Atlantic leg, I have a loud voice and was somewhat excited. DH gave me that look I'm handling it and trying to look suave ....... A while later my Brother in law was telling me about his colleague and his family, who had been to the same place as us......they were in the queue at the airport " and there was this family in front that had been upgraded...the wife was screaming with excitement!!!" Bloody hell, it was me.......uncool moi?

libertychick · 26/07/2013 22:46

Love it Dry - life is short - enjoy the good things when they happen! Cool is totally overrated anyway.

Drywhiteplease · 26/07/2013 22:49

That's my motto liberty Grin and I'll never get old and boring either

mignonette · 26/07/2013 22:55

McNally
Love that bright pink sweater. That will look amazing in the sun.

Queen Hope your cat swiftly recovers....

Am suffering a little with the humidity here even on a tiny island. Is it bad at home too? Have another day of traipsing about in the mountains tomorrow (help) and it is so not a good look, sweaty purple faced, terror struck about sliding to my death on a scree slope.

How is the A/W shopping going? Am feeling a Monkstrap shoe is going to be my Winter shoe. Does anybody else like them? Or are they a little too severe?

Drywhiteplease · 26/07/2013 23:45

Vic Beckham was wearing them a while back....no more severe than brogues IMO mignonette

santamarianovella · 27/07/2013 00:01

mcnally its lovely,

linus will you do all the touristy bits?broadway show, statue of liberty etc? i hear the prada store is a work of art Wink

liberty congrats,on shedding 1.5kg,god you are brave! i could never go through the fast diet.

dry Grin, you are amazing!

mig have not started A/W shopping yet,i want the valentino rock studded shoes, not practical but i cant stop thinking about them!
monkstrap are not my style sorry!

how is corsica? do you recommend it?

QueenCadbury · 27/07/2013 07:53

Morning. The bloody cat had me up most of the night! She's confined to one room as not allowed to do stairs so I slept with her in our room. She kept waking me wanting head rubs as she can't scratch her own head with the collar on. I am sooo tired.

Anyone got sunshine or is it cloudy everywhere?

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2013 07:53

Morning all!Grin
Well the floral Asos skirt arrived yesterday and I'm afraid it's going back. Lovely print but I'm just not keen on the fabric and I have a thing about a top stitched hem (weird I know), sorry LeFreak. I'll keep looking though as I love the look. Amber's green Asda on is lovely on her blog.

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2013 07:54

Oh your poor cat QueenC hope she recovers quickly.

BrandyAlexander · 27/07/2013 08:38

Thanks for my hugs x

Poor you QueenC.

Dry, your upgrade story is sooo funnyGrin

Liberty, well done on the weight lossThanks I finally went back to the gym this week. They were teasing me because I haven't been for months. I used to be 5 days a weeker!

All clouds here this morning. Just about to look at weather to see what I will be wearing.

I can definitely say, despite my sneaky peak at the selfridges website that I haven't even considered a/w because that will jinx the good weather spell we're having!

OneLittleLady · 27/07/2013 09:09

Mix of cloud and sunshine here but more sun than cloud and still very very warm. No idea what I'm wearing, I seem to be running out of options to wear in the good weather

mignonette · 27/07/2013 09:35

Dry I don't like top stitched hems either- they make a garment look badly finished when it is a standard finish and not an actual design feature.

Queen - poor you. I hope she settles soon. It is going to thunder over here today so unsure as to whether we should be ascending mountainous trails. Santa Yes Corsica's lovely, a little more jagged than Sardinia and the locals not as welcoming-can be very gruff and reserved. Tourism is such a double edged sword for these little communities and they do not like the Parisiens who flock here for their summer vacances.

I would recommend Sardinia if you have smaller children- they do so love them out there.

QueenCadbury · 27/07/2013 09:54

Thanks for the good wishes about my cat.

Yay, the sun is coming out. Hope it holds as we're having a BBQ later and I was hoping to get all the kids in the paddling pool.

I've no idea what a top stitched hem is Grin

mignonette · 27/07/2013 09:57

You know the line of stitching that sometimes runs around the top side of the fabric hem of a skirt/dress? Often in a colour that shows up? But not an intentional part of the design. That's a top stitched hem. It is not invisible.

QueenCadbury · 27/07/2013 10:08

Thanks mig. I think I'm basically ignorant about stuff like stitching as I never really notice it.

My train's booked for October. I get in at 10 and leave at 8. Lots of time for shopping and drinking!

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2013 10:26

Well I'm Ebaying away....my whole dining room and a sofa bed.....quite addictive and too easy. DH worried hell come home to an empty house!
Looking at all the crystal glasses we never use...what a waste.
DD's Sylvanian families next ....lots of tiny bits, ugggg

Annianni · 27/07/2013 12:17

Lots to catch up on.

I'm painting in the attic... Been at it a couple of hours and it's looking good.

The room started off looking huge, then seemed small when the walls were plastered, and now it seems big again with paint on Hmm

I've ordered a new bed, need to do an Ikea trip next week for some billy bookcases.
