I still love that dress dry and I am tempted but I'm afraid it won't suit me. Smile at high boobs.

I like the sound of your 'casual' outfit!

Lovely tees liberty!

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 21:13

Lovely tees and dresses everyone. dry your outfit sounds perfect for a casual do.

anni I would say something to the head because the kids need to know that if he says no electronics that he means it. It won't help your ds now but it'll hopefully stop some other poor bugger being upset next year.

Off to bed soon. It may be the school hols tomorrow but the cat has to be at the vets at 8 for her op (she's having the cat equivalent of a mastectomy).

Annianni · 24/07/2013 21:34

Shop, Ds2 always has his toenails cut when he's asleep. Afternoon nap is a good time.

Poor pussy QueenC, hope she's ok.

Hope you have a nice holiday Carrie.

Any news on your return Foxy?

We now have a lovely matt black bare brick chimney breast in ds2's new attic room.
We're going for an industrial look with graffiti :o

No fucking comment on that baby's name...

Liberty gorgeous Ts, noticed them on Pin earlier.

Dry outfit sounds perfect to me Smile.

shop we've always had to go with distraction (TV mainly), but he's still v apprehensive whenever the nail clippers come out at 6 (and then Lets out a big sigh when it's done and says"that wasn't so bad, Mummy").

Annianni · 24/07/2013 21:37

I might send an email QueenC [wuss emotion]
He does seem to be clamping down on a lot of things, which is good... see what happens next time.

Annianni · 24/07/2013 21:38

Sorry... Ds1's new room, not Ds2...

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 21:41

I love the name.....

Watching Bear Grills with DS (we have escaped the hysteria and screaming generated by 4 13 yr olds in family room).... That man is mad and quite disgusting!!!!!

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 21:42

DS toenails grown back down into his toes so I can't get clippers under them easily, without running my nail under there first. The nails are thickening and look dirty all the time, Had to wrestle him to the floor tonight, and then clipped his skin by accident. Feel like a rotten mother.

OP posts:
Annianni · 24/07/2013 21:46

I can't use clippers, I have 2 pairs of boots' baby scissors, one kept upstairs, one kept in the kitchen so i'm always prepared.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 21:47

Gosh shop that's a toughie......does bribery work or could you try a nail file ( I know that sounds nuts but it might work?)

Annianni · 24/07/2013 21:49

I did snip his ear once, chopping bits off his hair a few months ago.
I felt terrible and there was loads of blood, but he was fine after a cuddle... so don't feel too bad :o

MrsRadicchio · 24/07/2013 21:53

Ugh nail cutting for toddlers is really difficult. DH does it for the DC and also uses brute force, though DS1 seems to be getting more accepting of it now. Sounds tough Shop but you would be a bad mother if you didn't cut them Flowers

I will join you in a shopping ban QueenC. It is a necessity as my mat leave money has stopped. I want to do a project 333 type capsule wardrobe for autumn to see if I have any gaps. I may get some stuff in the right colours if I need to as well but that won't be for a while. I really hope I am a winter - that will mean a minimal wardrobe overhaul.

Drat, DS2 is awake, bye all!

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 21:55

Oh anni I meant email. I'd never be brave enough to say it face to face to him!

shop luckily mine don't seem to mind nail cutting but have to do it regularly otherwise they start to curl over and then they're really tricky to cut. I use nail scissors too. And yes, I've cut them a few times so don't feel bad. I often pretend to cut my own at the same time so that they think it's fun to copy.

libertychick · 24/07/2013 21:56

You are not a horrible mother Shop - kids toenails are a nightmare. With DD we do it in the morning (ie when she's in a good mood) She sits on DH's lap and he cuts with a nail scissors while I hold her foot still if necessary and distract her with singing. Then we clap and cheer and tell her how great she is to let us do it Smile. We also do a very small v in the middle of the nail (if possible) to prevent ingrowing.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 22:05

Thanks all. Sorry, wanted to keep this to fashion chat. Really appreciate your tips. Will take a deep breath and try with bribery another day.

Good to hear Outnet order worked out Marsha. I am definitely going to dye the I&I silk top! Just need to decide on a colour.

Sounds like you really need that holiday Carrie! Nice to have you back.

Foxy I have my eye on that Whistles dress too - also worried about the material. You sound like the glam queen of your local SR!!

QueenC I am Shock that a mother would be argumentative towards your DD - thank goodness your DD will be in a different year group now.

I am ridiculously pleased with the Cos T's! Have just had a try on session and they work with so many things - will definitely get the CPW. I have been looking for navy and grey T's for ages.

I am not going to do a shopping ban - never works for me. Trying instead to spend less and aim to buy things that fill wardrobe gaps.

libertychick · 24/07/2013 22:08

We can always do the occasional diversion Shop!

InMyShreddies · 24/07/2013 22:11

Hello lovelies. Quick question - if I order from J Crew sale, it has free delivery and returns right - can I return? It seems to be final, but UK law would suggest I can return within 7 days? Any knowledge gratefully received Thanks

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 22:20

Message them Inmyshreddies - they are super helpful and respond v quickly.

Annianni · 24/07/2013 22:22

I think MrsCB has checked with j crew in the past, and we can return from the uk.

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 22:46

I'd message J Crew just to be certain Shreddies.

Shop can you do it whilst he's asleep? Horrible feeling though, I really sympathise.

Ds2 wants to do his own these days, he loves copying everything we do.

Sleepwhenidie · 24/07/2013 23:41

Hi everyone, some great bargains bagged on the Outnet, well done! Yours are particularly lovely Marsha. I didn't realise the sale had started til I came on here yesterday lunchtime.

Shop sympathies on the nail cutting, it's always a battle here too. I'll also never forget cutting ds1's nails with clippers when he was a few months old and nicking his finger...the guilt was horrendous!

I am in mourning...I took off and left my gold Ash sandals next to a lounger outside our back door a couple of nights ago and a fox stole one while I was putting DC's to bed Shock! It's nowhere in our garden so can only assume it is lying, chewed and lonely, in one of our neighbour's Sad. And of course they and gigi's everywhere have been reduced and are now sold out Sad.

I picked up this dress in the sale today, but am a little unsure about it...do you think it is too young/girly for a 40 year old (with breasts, unlike the modelWink)?

DD finally finished school yesterday, it was so nice this morning not to have to do the usual routine Smile. Tomorrow the sorting and packing for heading out of Lomdon this weekend for the summer starts....

InMyShreddies · 25/07/2013 00:09

Thanks folks - have messaged J Crew, fingers crossed. Bargain tees and enamel bangles hopefully on way...

Annianni · 25/07/2013 08:14

Oh no Sleep, your poor shoe!

My Shopbop order is out for delivery, which is amazing :o

Love that Cos tee Liberty.

QueenCadbury · 25/07/2013 08:21

sleep the cheek of that fox! I like the dress but as you say it could potentially look young. Why don't you post a picture of you in it?
