So I've ordered a couple of J Crew tees in the sale
grey linen
vintage cotton

this

which seem to be in my Autumn colours but are full price ATM.

My new look order arrived, it's all great , all fits, only problem is I can't wear the wedges I got with having broken toes and I bet the good weather is gone before they are healed Sad

AmberNectarine · 24/07/2013 15:59

Bless you all and your messages of good luck - I'm going on a spending ban, not to war :)

carrie74 · 24/07/2013 16:25

Hello again

A short lull in work so I've had time to construct a proper (based on last pages) post, hurrah!!

Marsha thank you so much for the Outnet heads up, unfortunately I started looking and then it all crashed on me. By that time I'd convinced myself I don't really need anything anyway [gasp], so have avoided.

Foxy, love the sound of your SR outfit, but silk in this heat - yikes (would be terrified of sun cream ruining it, or sweat, or DC's ice creams, or....you get the picture Grin). Lovely to have a compliment too, I have to say, I've been getting lots too of late, from quite a variety of sources, it's such an ego boost Grin. I'm wearing a dress today which I'd consigned to the give away pile as I didn't feel it was very me, but when I wore it last week, I was stopped 5 times on the SR. 5 times! And then twice today (and I've only seen 3 people [rofl]). Tricky isn't it, sometimes you just don't feel "you" in something, yet everyone else seems to think it's amazing...

Foxy as for the Whistles dress, I like the shape, but worried about the material and the dry clean only tab, especially when in India (sun cream, sweat, ice creams etc...)

Shop nice work on escaping TK Maxx. I'm finding myself doing this more and more now, especially when I've been buying more stuff online (chiefly M&E) - the things in store just wind me up - bad fabrics, over-priced etc.

Anni, your poor DS. My two have gone into "fun school" (holiday club) this morning with their Ipod Touches, and I'm v nervous they'll be coming home empty-handed. I'd much rather they'd taken in our battered Monopoly. My DS adores his one (it's a Cars version, much shorter than the traditional, but still tedious after the 1000th go).

Not much to report purchase wise here: some Gap boyf shorts (been wearing loads) , Havs (likewise), bargainous maxi from M&E archive, and these in black and white.

Seem to have sufficient summer stocks now. Haven't bought the children anything (except next year's uniforms Grin), so feel a bit bad about that, but they did have some new stuff over Easter when in US not as much as me.

Don't know if I mentioned H broke his leg 4 weeks ago? It's been a total PITA, tied in with problems with our car (currently in garage AGAIN), super busy commitments with school PTA (I'm treasurer and we had 2 massive events in June and July), and the decision to start looking around for a new job (applied for a good'un last week, closing date Friday for interviews on Wednesday, fingers crossed Smile). We go off on holiday a week on Saturday - 2 weeks in the Dordogne, and H has his cast off the Wednesday before (hurrah). Hopefully, we can catch our breath then...

Back soon. x

McNally · 24/07/2013 16:51

Glad Outnet order was (mainly) successful Marsha. My sweater due for delivery today too. Hoping the nanny was in at the right time though not very urgent as def not cashmere sweater weather (except in my office where I'm wrapped in a scarf as protection from the air con).

Your poor DS Anni. Hope he's ok now. Things like that make me dread DD going to school (a while off yet!).

Your poor DH Carrie. Glad you've got a holiday looming. All sounds exhausting!

BrandyAlexander · 24/07/2013 17:13

Amber, I am really looking forward to reading all about the bags. As you know right up my street Grin I have been thinking either Prada or Miu Miu so will see of you change my mind! I had already considered the Givenchy one but decided not for me.

foxysocks · 24/07/2013 17:31

I love that givenchy, but I think I want a balenciaga

Childfree morning carrie! Would never wear otherwise and was in shorts and vest by afternoon SR due to suncream. Now in bikini soaking last of rays... bliss

The dress isn't silk is it? Thought cotton/cupro. Need to try on then will just know.

Outnet try on tonight after shower for me. cashmere looks Amazing McNally but the shorts maybe too big, I sized up after the all saints leopard knickers disaster

santamarianovella · 24/07/2013 17:35

amber i bet it feels like it Grin, the longest ban i had was almost three months, and i think it back fired.

novice prada bags are awesome, one of our neighbors owns a greyish/taupe colored one,BEAUTIFUL!, im trying to safe for a bag too,and prada is def on my list,so is the sofial coppola LV!

LinusDKD · 24/07/2013 18:29

Poor ds anni! I love playing Monopoly!

And poor queenc! Picking a fight in front of children, that's just bad manners.

Prada bags are nice, DM has one she bought 20 years ago on the Via dei Condotti and it still looks great.

But like santa I am still lusting after the LV Sofia Coppola and the Tom Ford Jennifer. Oh and a Bottega Veneta and a 2.55 bien sûr.

carrie hope you have a good holiday after such a stressful time with DH's injury.

shop really nice tees!

I chose to have my Outnet parcel deliverd at DP's house but so far it hasn't arrived yet. But as someone said, it's not really cashmere weather at the moment.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 18:43

[[http://pinterest.com/pin/443815738249322784/ this] arrived today. Surprisingly (for £27) nice. Great straight fit, fitted but not clingy, cotton not viscose that hugs everything, looks great with tan belt and gold Gigis....and my stone biker jacket. Thrilled.

QueenC poor you. Recently I've seen a few mothers behaving like my DD's 12/13 yr old friends. Nasty, in a few years' time they'll wonder why their own kids are so mean.
shop love the SE white sandals. Well done in resisting the bargains in TK Maxx and damm the delivery miss.
Anni bloody iPads/ electronics. If the head specified not electronics why don't you mention it next year. Personally I love Monopoly ( ESP when I'm a cheating banker!)
amber but it is like war!
Carrie good luck with job interviews.

Right I have 4 13 yr old girls for a sleep over.....wonder if I'll get any sleep.
Have also buggered my knee at the gym....knew exercise was bad for you Grin
Will need Wine to deal with both issues.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 18:43

this dress

Annianni · 24/07/2013 19:16

Thanks for all the good wishes.
He had a cry and a cuddle and cheered up after an hour playing on his Nexus.

I've never let him take things like that to school.
I've seen the boys kicking each others bags in the playground and I'm not prepared to risk it.

Might mention something after the holidays.

I've said he can help me start painting later in the attic, so he's pleased with that.

Just ordered Shop's J crew linen tee to try in the grey, along with a grey bikini top.
There were a couple of other things I liked, but not sure on the sizing with J Crew, so I'll try the tee first.

my shopping ban's going really well

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 19:19

Lol Anni Grin.

Love that dress Dry.

Fab work on J Crew te Shop I wear mine loads.

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 19:20

Carrie have a great holiday, good luck with job, hope your Dh is better very soon.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 19:21

Much better IRL Marsha

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 19:24

It's gorgeous Dry. Am tempted by the blue version. Did you get the blue one?

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 19:25

Just a question......
Have a golden wedding anniversary party coming up. The invitation says "casual" dress. There's a BBQ in the evening. Obviously my "casual" is different to the hosts' casual.....do you think my new maxi +Gigis etc would be too casual for the twin set crew?

libertychick · 24/07/2013 19:26

Haven't had time to read yet today - will catch up later - just wanted to show the most perfect T-Shirts I got in Cos today - I got both navy and grey, silk jersey, lovely fit and feel.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 19:27

Yes marsha I got the blue. Great with tan, also looks good with my denim jacket....want me to try to send you a photo on a pm?

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 19:30

That's lovely of you Dry! Only if you can be bothered Grin. Am sure it looks gorgeous on you btw.

Liberty love that Cos t, looks like a perfect one.

foxysocks · 24/07/2013 19:35

i LOVE that dry. also tempted!

just went on outnet to try and request RMA for shorts, button not there?!?! am now panicking after comment earlier re; no returns, eeek, they weren't even clearance, marsha did you request yours yet?!

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 19:37

I know I barely do maxi dresses but it is so lovely.

Foxy oh no really! I know you can ring them any time, they should do a return. I haven't done mine yet, but had a quick look and can see the create a return/exchange button. Is that missing from your shorts?

foxysocks · 24/07/2013 19:39

yep button not there for shorts or jumper. weird. will email them now.

Drywhiteplease · 24/07/2013 20:13

Marsha I'm the same, maxis are never right.....either too long, too clingy, too low cut (must have high boobs!) or just meh.....this one is perfect for me.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 21:07

Dry I think the outfit sounds great. It's a lovely dress.
Waves to Carrie and sends get well sympathy to you and your poor DH, I love the Dordogne - have a wonderful holiday.
I've had a horrific evening with DS. We're having toenail traumas. Won't go into details but if any of you have a child who hates having their toenails cut can you PM me? I'm going mental.
And then had one of those chats with DH where he tells me my job is easy compared to his! Grrrrrr.
Carrie I think I'll stop visiting TK Maxx now - I've been sucked in too many times now buying 'bargains' that I don't need. I'm trying to be a better shopper now.
And YY to receiving more compliments since I've been on this thread so Flowers to you all.
