dry a jersey maxi dress is a brilliant idea. I might wear my M&E navy maxi dress. I don't have any Converse but I do have some Superga. Not sure if the colour will work with navy though.

I'll try my Boden navy crochet jacket with the dress and I'll take my trusty black Pickett pashmina as usual.

Looking forward to some duty free cosmetics shopping in the Airport!

amber I really admire you but I couldn't do it, I just don't have the imagination.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 08:34

Morning....

Just had the lovely pleasure of turning my alarm off for 6 weeks... fabulous!

Can someone please remind me to pick ds1 up at lunchtime :o

My Shopbop order is on it's way already

Good luck for the challenge Amber.

AmberNectarine · 24/07/2013 09:36

To be fair, I have got a lot of stuff to work through...

foxysocks · 24/07/2013 09:53

i can't wait to see the daily pics amber, i know you'll rock it. I am tempted to try similar but I have a short list of 'needs' rather than wants for AW so i think I would fail. (thanks for the DM btw, I replied, hope you got it. x)

shopbop are aces quick aren't they anni? I regret not ordering those distressed white jeans from them when I had the chance, there have been NO good white jeans in the sales so looks like I'm waiting till 2014 now.

DD had another meltdown this morning, she is beyond shattered, end of school today cannot come soon enough.

I was v pleased with outfit this morning - cream silk miniskirt (reiss), cobalt slouchy tee (wang) and the yellow/zebra sandals. one of the mums told me I was a really great shopper which made me Grin. little does she know about my behind-the-scenes team of lovelies!

is anyone elses outnet order out for delivery today? I broke the news to DH this morning after, erm, making sure he was in a good mood Blush so have a pass to keep the lot if i like it

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 10:03

Wahay, I had a compliment today and was told I look nice. Weirdly I'm not even that happy with the outfit as it's navy chinos and navy patterned blouse but the navy's don't match up. Obviously looks ok though! Then my morning was ruined by another mum having a go at me and dd. it's a long back story but I was still very upset. I'm already an emotional wreck about the last day if school!

Inspired by amber i've decided not to buy anything until my shopping trip to London in October (still haven't booked the train-I'm hoping it may come down from £50). The only things I'm allowed to buy is an emerald (or possibly Chinese blue) cardigan if I come across one and the 40th outfit if I find something before October. I've got enough clothes to keep me going until then and it'll give me an opportunity to really think about what I need for AW. I'll just have to do lots of fantasy shopping and enabling for you guys Grin.

foxysocks · 24/07/2013 10:07

wtf queenc? poor you! what kind of a mum has a go at another on the SR?? ((hugs))

anyone have any thoughts on this dress? what is 'cupro'?

the shape looks good for me and could be great for india too (sleeves necess) as long as breathable.

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 12:12

Thanks foxy. It's not so much the way she spoke to me but the way she spoke to dd. As I said, there's history there and I think she was just having a go as it's her last opportunity! Whatever her dd has done to mine I would never speak to her like that. Different classes in the juniors thank goodness!

Have just googled cupro and it's similar to rayon and is reprocessed cellulose whatever that it Grin

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 12:16

Thank goodness QueenC! You don't need to be around that.

Foxy I really like it for India but don't know much about the material.

The outnet stuff has arrived. I love ti. Chartreuse one is gorgeous yellow and light grey is the palest grey/lilac which I love. Also cobalt silk t is fab.

Will send back nude/pink one as too see-through, I agree Liberty!

Annianni · 24/07/2013 12:30

How awful QueenC.
Was your dd upset by it?

Nice frock Foxy.

And fab news on the outnet order Marsha.

I need to start my spending ban again after the Shopbop order... :o

Just bought a carpet and some paint.
Decorating Ds1's new room starts Saturday!

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 12:42

Not sure anni as she went off into class. I hope not as she was already emotional about her last day bless her.

Must stop buying Oreo ice creams for the kids. They are 195 calories of deliciousness.

Annianni · 24/07/2013 12:54

Poor thing QueenC.

Just got home and there's a tacky white limo parked outside my house.

I hope the neighbours don't think it's anything to do with me! :o

There's a load of pink cowboy hats in it, along the windows... people driving past were looking as I got my shopping out of the car.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 12:56

Arse - missed my delivery - and double arse - I doubt grey lilac is going to suit me.
On a positive note please pat me on the back. I went to TK Maxx. Tried stuff on. Queued up and then thought - WTF are you doing? None of it is that great and you don't need it. Put it back and left the store. Polishes halo (after beating up the school run mum for QueenC )

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 13:05

Foxy Whistles started telling me all sorts of technical stuff about the new breathable fabrics they use now..... not sure if that's one of them. The dress looks a similar shape to my green one but without the pleats which is very flattering on.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 13:06

It's very subtle Shop a dusky colour really, rather than lilac. But yep not sure if in your colours.

santamarianovella · 24/07/2013 13:22

queen poor you! she has no right to talk to you or your dd like that. hope your dd is not upset, some people never grow up!

foxy your outfit sounds fab!, im not that sure about the dress tbh,

marsha thats great, i tried this morning to see if any of the things i like are back in my size ,but no luck.

ani shopbop is amazing,if only the shipping and duties charges were cheaper.

shop good for you.

amber good luck.

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 13:35

Had another look. You know that duskiness of F&B paint how some greys verge into muted lilac territory. Am finding it hard to convey. I guess you'll find out if right soon!

Annianni · 24/07/2013 13:38

Grr...

Just picked Ds1 up from school.
They were told to bring a toy or game in, nothing valuable or needed plugging in, so he took monopoly.

Nobody would play with him, everyone was playing with ipads, ipods etc.

He's upset, poor thing.

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2013 13:43

Oh no Anni that sucks! Poor ds. Ds1 would have played monopoly with him, he loves it, doesn't lose that well however!

Ok this this sort of grey I think. Muted, but warmish

QueenCadbury · 24/07/2013 13:48

I love monopoly, I'll play. How old are these kids? Mine play with the iPad at home but I wouldn't trust them to take it into school.

Well done shop (on both the non shopping and beating up the mum for me Grin).

So, is no-one else tempted to have a couple of months off shopping....?

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 13:51

It's a no from me QueenC! Said in the style of Louis Walsh......
Lots of new vintage tee colours at J Crew - but I can't track a discount code down. I'm best to wait aren't I?

OP posts:
Annianni · 24/07/2013 14:17

They're year 4, so 8 and 9 yr olds.
In the past there's been lots of ds's taken in (game console thing, not darling sons)

But they've got a new (stricter) head... hence the text being sent out... which everyone ignored except me.

shopafrolic · 24/07/2013 14:41

Extra 40% off J Crew sale with STYLE40 and free delivery

BrandyAlexander · 24/07/2013 14:50

Ugh, your poor dcs Anni and QueenC. :(

I am not tempted to go on a shopping ban. I put that in category of diets ie not fun!

Topazandpearl · 24/07/2013 15:08

I'm in QueenC! Not as brave as Amber though, but will aim for a month and see how I get on.
