Welcome ItsNotUnusual! Lots of M&S and clarks shoes have featured on here! I don't own any gigis so can't answer your question but I am sure someone will soon.

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2013 21:35

Hi ItsNotUnusual I don't have gigis but am sure someone will be along soon who does!

Liberty ha I know, I think it's the thought of having to go to the hairdressers (I don't find it very relaxing) and the fact that I didn't have 3.5 year old ds tugging at me when I was trying to post. Meant it was rather long! Grin

They are bargainous Grumpy, not my size and I cannot do peep toe.

Linus how about Helmut Lang on the outnet, will have a gander. Btw I'm sure I've seen that model before, was it on here? We thought she was rather... intense.

libertychick · 20/06/2013 21:35

BTW where has Hopefully gone? No blog update in a while....hope all is well.

mignonette · 20/06/2013 21:36

Hello there ItsNotunusual

I haven't got the shoes you describe but my first suggestion would be to ask a cobbler for advice as to whether it is worthwhile softening them. Sometimes leather will give whereas synthetic fabrics will not. Cotton canvas will give also but if it gets wet, it will shrink a little (as my blistered feet from wearing wet espadrilles will testify).

However being a toe post,I think it may be that it will always be a little uncomfortable. Leather tends to 'spread' and relax as it ages and so your toe post may well get wider as the sandals wear. It seems unlikely to get thinner or narrower unless it can be 'shaved' by a cobbler without damage.

Hope this helps and hope to see you on the board again.

mignonette · 20/06/2013 21:38

In fact ItsNotUnusual - your toe post serves as a metaphor for life really as a woman....Rarely can we hope to get taller and narrower as we age. We are more likely to spread and relax Grin

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 20/06/2013 21:39

Hi Liberty. I lurk regularly enough to know you only do happy fashion round here Grin ie if it makes you happy, to hell with the brand! No snootiness at all.

I am hopeless typing with my sausage fingers on this damn phone. And I'm scared to start posting from work in case I fall into a black hole of MNing and not do any work ever.

I follow lots of you on Pinterest. I often resolve to post more but the thread moves so fast!

I am in the process of building a decent wardrobe following my style day with HoC. I'm a sultry winter ( waves at Amber and QueenCadbury) and a romantic classic (safe in the knowledge Amber wouldn't be seen dead in my stuff Grin).

mignonette · 20/06/2013 21:44

Oh please stay here with us ......(sounding like something out of a horror film) Grin

I haven't had my colours done because I cannot bear the thought of being told that certain shades are not for me. I'm a 'wear them and be damned' kind of girl....

I always read up thread and try to recall what has been asked. You can always remind us. I'm pretty new to the thread BTW. Pinterest acts as an aide memoire too regarding what has been asked and bought.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 20/06/2013 21:49

Hi Itsnotunusual. I have Gigis and find them fine - however I also have Sam Edelman Gables and find the loop aroung the big toe on my right foot to be very tight, and I am v skinny of foot. I think perhaps they vary from shoe to shoe but am hoping that the leather ( as Mignonette said) will relax and become more comfy with wear.

AmberNectarine · 20/06/2013 21:51

Hello itsnotunusual! Yes, definitely no classic in me! Am going to get my act together and do the style day soon! Welcome to the thread!

santamarianovella · 20/06/2013 21:58

how is your hand amber?

welcome itsnotunusual i have no gigs but almost everyone in here does.

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 22:01

itsnotunusual (we definitely need to shorten your name!) hello. Yep, this thread is a big black hole and you've just fallen into it Grin. Whenever I say I'm going to spend less time on MN I actually find myself missing you all. And when I see or buy something I can't wait to link ( I do have real life friends-honest). Who are you on pin?

grumpy glad you bought the blue top as it really is lovely. Part of me thinks for £19 I should just keep it but I know that it's one of those items that just doesn't fit my lifestyle. You lead a much more glam life than me so it'll be great for you. If I needed a summer going out top I would definitely keep it and the purple.

hopefully did something today linking to lk bennet. I follow her blog on facebook.

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2013 22:05

QueenC are you sure? It could be fab for going out on summer nights. It's a great bargain.

santamarianovella · 20/06/2013 22:09

Mother of all leopard flats. This one is for you shop

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 22:15

itsnotunusual welcome. I'm glad Mignonette did the horror movie "please stay". I'm usually the one throwing myself at the newbies. Grin
I do have Gigis but I've only worn them 3 or 4 times. I think the leather is softening, but the toe post seems fine to me so not sure I'm much use!
QueenC can you PM me a link to Hopefully's blog on FB? I don't think I always get her email when she posts.
You're not a newbie Mignonette you're a returnee :)

Hello It's ... Do stay, it's lovely hereSmile
On way home from first ever clay pigeon shoot. Complete fashion fail Hmm but nailed the shooting Grin ( despite big boob on first go when I pulled the trigger when the instructor called "pull"!!)......did better than DH!!!!

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 22:21

Nice one Dry how's your shoulder?

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 22:25

shop I've pm'd you

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 22:26

marsha stop it Grin!

mignonette · 20/06/2013 22:27

What was the instructor pulling? Dry (total ignorance of CP shooting)

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 22:30

Instructor shouts pull. Bloke in field releases the clay which flies up into the air, you then shoot.
If you shoot on pull there's nothing in the sky to hit

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2013 22:33

Grin QueenC.

Dry sounds fun. Love the mix up on pull (not that I've ever done it so would probably do the same).

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 22:36
