With your style and aura that is. I love that we are the place to go to share bag excitement Grin

mignonette · 20/06/2013 16:30

HOORAY! Dry's bag is delivered.....Grin Grin Grin

I still lovingly pat several of my lovely bags whenever I pass them all strung up in their little protective sac-cocoons. They are like chrysalises, waiting to be chosen to accompany me out for a day (and now I sound as mad as a Fish).....

Is this sweater from Atterley Road a bit too Specials fan circa 1979?

And I do love these. I have loved espadrilles since discovering them at the age of eleven.

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 16:42

I got this pair of Soludos for £6 when Style Passport went bust. I love them. They remind me of childhood holidays in France. Those a v pretty version.
Not so keen on the jumper but only because I'd look awful in it!

Glad you got your hands on Nancy dry!

I had a bit of sales luck myself. Found the Equipment shirt I blogged about yesterday reduced to £75. Mine all mine. Probably done for sales now. As of 1 August I'm putting myself on a spending ban to save intensively for a very special handbag anyway. Going to buy it as a birthday present to myself.

mignonette · 20/06/2013 16:59

I liked those Shop. Lovely they are. I have a permanent tan line across my foot from wearing Espadrilles which in its tan/white bi colour is oddly reminiscent of a tapir's markings!

What is your special bag Amber?

AmberNectarine · 20/06/2013 17:03

I'm keeping it a surprise for readers of my blog Mignonette

mignonette · 20/06/2013 17:06

Okay. I'll await the impending news Smile

Drywhiteplease · 20/06/2013 17:07

amber that's v exciting

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 20/06/2013 17:11

Keep stroking Nancy Dry. I love it when you find something you know you will have and treasure for years.

Great espadrilles too. They're next on my holiday hitlist

Finally sitting down with a large Wine after a stressful day with DS. He seems to be a bit better but I am expecting another challenging night. At the moment he is running around high on anti-histamine and paracetamol.

Today I also managed to clip some scaffolding with my car on the way to the pharmacy to pick up some more ointment for DS. Sad
It is DH's company car but as it is a Chelsea Tractor I use it to ferry the children around. DH was not too upset as he knows I had hardly any sleep last night.

And we just had a massive thunderstorm with hail the size of marbles which damaged all the plants in our garden.

Needless to say I have put my diet on hold and am now demolishing a whole box of Pringles.

Will try and catch up after DS has gone to bed

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 18:09

linus sending a hug

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 18:46

There were lots of espadrilles on the Outnet Grumpy
Linus sending hugs and positive thoughts for an easier night tonight.
Amber I'm very excited to see what bag you're going for after the Rocco disappointment

Bloomin Matches sent an email saying sorry for the problems during sale time. I was hoping it had an apology voucher - turns out it was just a plain old apology! Gutted Grin

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2013 19:03

lol Shop Grin it's like when they send you we've noticed you've signed out emails, here's what's in your basket. Once upon a time they offered free delivery when you did that.

Linus sounds really tough, I hope tonight is better.

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 19:27

I tried on the blue top again but despite it being lovely and good quality, a fab fit and colour, it is just too smart for daytime wear with jeans. If I was a lady who lunched wearing smart jeans then maybe but as I'm a lady that sits in toddler groups and music groups then it's a no.

BrandyAlexander · 20/06/2013 19:36

Congratulations Dry. Nancy just one of the best bags everGrin

A rare break for me before I get to my final meeting of the trip. Then straight to airport. It's 26 degrees and strutting round in my Attwoods, with Armani sleeveless dress. Grin

I have to talk about my new lipstick. It's Nars satin lip pencil. Just the most amazing product. Long wearing and doesn't dry the lips at all. It's like magic stuff!

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 20:35

Sounds good Novice I'm planning a visit to SpaceNK soon so will take a look....

OP posts:
mignonette · 20/06/2013 20:47

linus (((( hugs )))) I so hope for a better night for you and your family.

Novice I love NARS. Is there anything better than the Multiple, Orgasm blusher and those lip pencils? If you get a chance to shop Maybelline, look out for the Babylips lipbalm. It is coming to the UK soon and there are waiting lists already. here is a link to it. I do not know how good it is but beauty editors rave about it.

I often mix lip balm with lipstick to get a better stain effect. My perennial favourite is Carmex in the little pot which I mix with a Guerlain deep ruby red lipstick to get a gentler flush of colour.

LinusDKD · 20/06/2013 20:55

Congrats on the Nancy Dry! I bet you must be thrilled to finally hold her in your arms.

Faddy so happy that you managed to get your dream dress. It looks so pretty and I agree, it looks like an heirloom piece.

I am in urgent need of a haircut but so far I have yet to find a salon/stylist I like and I have lived here nearly 5 years.

Does anyone know where I can find a similar top but less £££ and machine washable:

Velvet tee

LinusDKD · 20/06/2013 21:01

Mignonette my favourite Nars blushers are Deep Throat (summer) and Outlaw (winter).

Espadrilles remind me of my childhood as well. Castañer seems to be the preferred brand of dressy espadrilles where I live and I have to admit, they do look pretty.

Right, off to bed. Hope I can actually sleep in my own bed instead of spending the night on a matress in DS's room, not sleeping.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 20/06/2013 21:03

Great T Linus, haven't seen anything similar though - sorry. Just get that one...(not that I'm enabling or anything)

Queen I liked that blue top so much and it was so reasonable I bought one meself. Think it could be quite versatile for those (dreaded) 'smart casual' occasions. Sorry I've pinched your style Grin

Mignonette I love the look of Babylips - want one in every shade!

libertychick · 20/06/2013 21:04

Grin at Anni thinking I was an accountant. I am a commissioner of health and social care so I do a lot of work with figures ? I am freelance, so work across different organisations rather than being directly employed by one.

Really like those Stella and Dot necklaces Linus - do feedback on them. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Marsha you obviously feel very strongly about hairdressers !! The prices really annoy me too ? the best haircut I have had in ages was the cut in Yorkshire and that cost £73 for a cut and a colour, and they provided hot chocolate and highly entertaining environment where everyone was gossiping and there was a stream of teenage boys coming in with very specific requirements for their ?do?s?!

Faddy gorgeous dress, v pretty. And YY to Glenisk yogurt ? haven?t ever seen it here ? so yummy.

QueenC I was so tempted to order that blue top ? lovely colour. But reminded myself that cowl necks don?t seem to work and I am due to get colours done!

mignonette · 20/06/2013 21:05

Sleep well Linus

Will look out for a similar T. That neckline, on close up looks like it has been rolled or lined to reinforce the slouch shape.

My T shirts end up with neck lines like that by accident because i am always tugging at them (nervous habit)...

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 20/06/2013 21:16

Hello and apologies for plonking myself down in the middle of you all.

I'm a regular admirer of your links and wisdom but rarely have anything useful to contribute.

However, I have a question I hope someone can answer. I think you are the right bunch to ask Grin

I've just bought cobalt gigis and they are beautiful.

However, I am a size 5, or a 4.5 in Clarks and M&S so I ordered the size 7. (See why I would rarely contribute to the conversation here!!)

They fit and no foot overhang BUT the toe post is flatter and wider than I am used to. It looks lovely but it is uncomfortable. Does anyone know if it softens? Or the straps give a little with wear. They feel like a size up would be too big.

Help!
