Awaits Harrods loot from Foxy
I had a try of the new Estee Lauder 'Bronze Goddess' reformulation yesterday during my lunch break. It's not a new horizon in perfume-ology but very very clever in invoking happy holiday memories. It is pure Hawaiian Tropic (which I sometimes dab on just for the scent) with a little more complexity on the dry down. I used to wear the Dior version and sit there at my desk having a subtle wrist-sniff when especially stressed-it is the essence of salt, sea,sun and coconut soaked skin.
I'm not normally an Estee wearer and the fact that it is EDT is off putting as even EDP doesn't last that long on my skin for some reason. I have the Tom Ford 'Oud Wood' and Violet Blonde full size plus testers of Ombre de Hyacinthe, Azure Lime and Black Violet. I especially recommend Azure Lime for summer evenings and holidays...Another lovely more mainstream summer fragrance is the Lancome 'O'De Lancome range. Worn by my Mother, the original is transporting for me; a zingy, nose sharp citrus-green. However I bought 'Azure' last Summer and wore it to death. It is just lovely with a floral peony overlay to the original.
I am normally an Oriental - Tobacco perfume wearer (Angel, Tabac Blonde, Ambre Nu, Vitriol D'Oeillet, Secret Oudh, Secrete Datura, Felanilla Musc Ravageur etc . I much prefer the heavier scents but these fresher lighter perfumes have been a revelation to me.
