Hello, just popping in to say another vote for the blue VW QueenC, I love it! I can see it with white accessories, simple white courts and white clutch.

QueenCadbury · 10/06/2013 09:58

Dd has started nursery properly and it's feeling strangely quiet and lonely without her. I've got a million and one things to do though to keep me busy so shouldn't be on MN so hopefully I won't miss her too much.

linus you didn't hijack the thread. I was just indulging myself by linking stuff. Apologies now as you have another 4 months of me banging on about dresses Grin.

hopefully I feel your pain. Despite doing the shred intermittently, 3 weekends of over indulgence have left me heavier than I like to be. I'm going back on my fitness pal today to monitor calorie intake as well as doing exercise.

MarshaBrady · 10/06/2013 10:00

MrsR that's what I thought. Fabulous with white. Will see if I can find the pin I saw earlier.

QueenCadbury · 10/06/2013 10:05

Not sure about white shoes in November though? and with my white pasty legs

MarshaBrady · 10/06/2013 10:07

Oh November. Hmm yes too cold for bare legs.

Hopefully · 10/06/2013 10:18

Ugh, have just done level one of Ripped. I'm off to die quietly in a corner now...

OneLittleLady · 10/06/2013 10:24

after yesterdays exploration in the sculpture park, I went to bed at half seven and woke up over twelve hours later! Not looking good this morning, curled up in DPs massive dressing gown and my hair needs washing, I just don't have the energy to do. Oh and another vote for the blue QueenC

FaddyPeony · 10/06/2013 12:57

Is anybody familiar with the French brand BA&SH?
I am still on the lookout for a laid-back pretty dress for the wedding garden party I mentioned upthread. Saw these two on ASOS and quite like the boho vibe - they're far more casual than the RED Valentino dress, of course, but I think I need to accept that that one is gone!

The BA&SH options are a bit pricey for what they are, but I'd welcome your opinions:

option 1

option 2

By the way - I am really short (5'2) so wouldn't be in danger of flashing my bum as per the model!

shopafrolic · 10/06/2013 12:58

Hello stylish ladies!
Quick random question if I may? Does anyone know of any companies selling lovely items for kid's bedrooms? I want to update DS room with new curtains, pictures, bedding etc but want to avoid branded Thomas the Tank, Bob the builder etc..... TIA

shop Etsy is your friend. Lots of loveliness there.

OneLittleLady · 10/06/2013 13:14

Once my uni application goes in, I may need an interview outfit. It needs to be smart but show my personality. I was considering my DKNY jersey dress with a white shirt underneath and a pair of black patent heels. There's a very similar DKNY dress on my pinterest board for anyone who wants to look, the major difference being that mine is dark grey with black waist and strap detailing.

santamarianovella · 10/06/2013 13:15

faddy I have not heard of them but the two dresses seem too casual, more beachy IMO, hold up they sales are just a around the corner! Lovely red Valentino dresses on NaP,or the outnet might stock something better.

shop, johnnyssisiter . Ordered lovely cushions for dcs rooms.
And just because I'm mean I'm gonna link youthis ,browse and weep Grin.

Sleepwhenidie · 10/06/2013 13:22

Hello everyone, where is the sun again? Grrr.

Welcome Faddy, cute dresses, I love the first one. I have had a couple of things from BA&SH, a coat and a cashmere sweater, loved them, literally wore them out Grin.

Shop I have bought some gorgeous things from Achica for kids rooms, throws, wall decals, cushions. You just have to wait for the right stuff to come on. Otherwise, little white company and Aspace have fab stuff.

Once again I am still in gym kit after workout this morning. Kickboxing later so I may just get out of one sweaty set of stuff, shower and into kickboxing gear...so stylish Grin. I am stressing about DD's birthday party, which is this Wednesday. Just bought 25 of these instead of party bags (I hate spending money on tat/sugar for normal bags). Excellent customer service, I managed to negotiate a discount and free next day delivery so v happy Smile. Now my next problem, the cake. Thought I was being very clever saying I would make it myself this time. DD wants a princess cake - I know, very original Hmm. I got a bunch of mini Disney princess figures from ebay as cake toppers and imagined standard round cake with those all over, job done, but DD has been talking about the castle and towers...help!

OneLittleLady · 10/06/2013 13:25

Swiss rolls covered in icing for the towers, with rolled icing for the tops sleep just stick em on the sides of a square cake!

santamarianovella · 10/06/2013 13:28

sleep, is it too late to place an order? I love baking but towers and castles is a bit too complicated,

shopafrolic · 10/06/2013 13:29

Santa the johnnysister (?) link doesn't work.... can you retry while I weep? :)

LinusDKD · 10/06/2013 13:30

shop how about the Little White Company and Great Little Trading Company?

Oh and if you don't mind paying import duties:

kids pottery barn

Naughty Santa now I will be looking at that website all afternoon ignoring DD

I like the dresses faddy but maybe not for a wedding.

one your outfit sounds lovely!

QueenCadbury · 10/06/2013 13:34

hopefully can I join you in your corner to die with you? Jut done level 2 shred again.

sleep I'm not great with cakes at all as dm does fabulous ones. I too hate the tat in party bags but kids love them. I once didn't do them and had some kids in tears! I now use the book people and get a collection of books and give each child one. That way it only works out at about a pound per child, add in the obligatory chocolate and a balloon and you're done.

shop I get a lot of kids stuff from next. Not sure what the boys are like as ds is into his characters (batman, Lego etc) but dd loves the girls stuff and her curtains and duvet covers come from there.

one I'll look at Pinterest later to check out your dress but daren't do it now as I'll get hooked on there Grin.

QueenCadbury · 10/06/2013 13:36

faddy they're nice dresses but don't seem special enough especially for that price.

santamarianovella · 10/06/2013 13:38

www.jonnyssister.co.uk/ ,

Sleepwhenidie · 10/06/2013 13:54

I'm right with you One, bought a couple of Swiss rolls earlier Grin. Still have to figure out how they will fit together with cake though

Faddy I think maybe the dresses are a little informal for a wedding too (humanist ceremony in a field/on a beach would be an exception Grin)

LinusDKD · 10/06/2013 14:05

The parcel at the post office turned out to be some pj's I ordered for DS but FedEx have just deliverd the RL red breton and it is lovely! Yay!

FaddyPeony · 10/06/2013 14:05

Thank you for feedback! Good point on the sales, they are vv pricey. I am still thinking about the first one in particular (esp after watching the latest episode of Mad Men - all that late-sixties California hippy wear=drool) but not going to make any sudden movements. The wedding is not really a wedding per se - we're married already, so the party is a garden party in my parents' garden Grin it will be extremely casual.

Off to look at NaP for inspiration...

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 10/06/2013 14:40

Santa when I go home this evening I'll be sure to peruse that site - looks right up my street.

Desperate to get my hands on a pair of Banana Republic's Milly Collection Elephant print shorts but struggling. Sold out on UK and US sites and the only ebay seller I can find who has them in my size only ships to the US. My parents are in the UK until October and I daren't ask my friend again (he spent an hour in the post office mailing my watch!) Any suggestions?

Annianni · 10/06/2013 14:50

Sleep, you need upside down cornets for on top of the swiss rolls, the waffle cone type
