i lived an expat life as a child, moved around a lot. not to exotic locations or anything, some places were boring and some where really nice, barbie ive never been to SE ASIA, i think its great for kids to explore different cultures and broaden their horizon, but to be honest i can not go through it again, unless its a move to LA,in that case i dont mind Grin.

good god dry how did you manage! i panic if wifi is down ,you were really missed !

Sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2013 10:21

Hi everyone, glad you got your wifi back Dry, how horrific!Grin

We are all still in pjs here, DH out for a long bike ride.

Has anyone heard anything from Amber? She seems to have dropped off the planet in the last 5-6 days, most unlike her Confused. No response to pm re MU, no blog, no posts here....

Santa did you get my pm re meet up?

Sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2013 11:10

Barbie are you around? I have a quick beauty question for you please...now that the summer seems to have finally arrived, I am using facial SPF and bronzer in daily routine..so I am piling layering on

  • serum
  • moisturiser
  • sunscreen SPF 50
  • bronzer
  • foundation (sometimes)

Is this the right order and is it ok to put all this on Confused Seems like a lot but my skin seems happy enough with it Smile

Sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2013 11:22

when i say brozer btw, its a self-tanner for face (the Dior one).

Sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2013 11:30

i take it back, amber has blogged!

AmberNectarine · 08/06/2013 12:18

Don't panic guys, I'm still alive - sorry, have had a crazy week of work, hospital appointments, seaside trips and perving at David Gandy at GFW...

You will hear even less from me in 10 days as I am having surgery on my right hand, so will be unable to type! Am going to have to set up a lot of blog posts in the next few days!

BrandyAlexander · 08/06/2013 12:18

Hi Sleep, I can't find your top on the Selfridges website? Can you check and re-link from there?

BrandyAlexander · 08/06/2013 12:18

Oh Amber, hope surgery goes well.

AmberNectarine · 08/06/2013 12:25

Sure it will novice, of course they've managed to time it with the one night this month DH is away on business, but I'll manage! As I am still bf it will only be a local, do hopefully I should be up and about in no time!

BrandyAlexander · 08/06/2013 12:27

Oh that sounds like hard work! Will you have helped lift your dcs?

Sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2013 12:32

Hey Amber, glad you are ok Smile, hope surgery goes well.

Novice do you mean the cardigan? It's not on Selfridges and its on Maje site but without a pic Hmm. I managed to find grey version on pinterest.. I am off to a kids party with DD later, given the cool breeze I am going to wear it with white cropped jeans, white zadig vest and either white supergas or gold ash sandals.

Drywhiteplease · 08/06/2013 12:41

Amber good luck with the op. love the perving at DGGrin.

Apologies all for the immodest last post.... Sounded terrible!

Sleep....was looking at your fitness pins and made Gillian's cucumber and lemon detox drink, nice! Also tried spider man press ups ....evil!!!

Santa..... I didn't manage well without wifi and needed to preserve phone battery. Was more worried about vogue 12 than paying my visa bill!Wink

Am off to BBQ tonight.... Not sure if I dare wear white skinnies!

santamarianovella · 08/06/2013 12:53

Lovely morning. Popped to the local market and had a mooch about, bought books for DH and DS in Waterstones and then had a lovely lunch in Jamie's Italian.
Underwear delivery from Bravissimo has arrived so need to try on while DS naps.
Amber hope surgery is swift and pain free! Your last blog post really resonated with me - Thanks
Sleep I'm looking forward to the answer to your question about layers of product - currently I'm using eye serum, eye cream, face serum Thanks, moisturiser (tinted if no foundation), and then foundation..... hadn't even remembered the SPF bit other than the amount in my tinted moisturiser!!

Sleep, Santa Maria and barbie thank you all so much for your words of support about moving, it helps a lot Smile South Korea! Wow! That is certainly a new adventure! Our ds is 4 and yes this is our first (and last?) move! Good luck with your move, when are you off?
Amber hello and good luck for your op.
Drywhite all my underwear is boring too, just nude and black, I don't even do white! I find that works best for me as i never have to think about what I put on under clothes. I do have a few sexys for special occasions though Wink
I've spent most of the day building lego with ds when I have a trillion things to pack and do, DH is away for the wkd though so its not like much is going to get done in any case.

Anyway, on a note more relevant to this thread...white jeans! I have a pair from Whistles like these but without the ankle zips. I'm a bit stuck with what to wear with them, any suggestions?

Drywhiteplease · 08/06/2013 14:58

Leather they look exactly like my Primark ones.have zips. I've been wearing them ( for a few mins before I spill something on them !) with :

silver flip flops, long line ribbed fitted vest in grey marl and necklace
Navy and white l/breton, red ballet flats
Black square ,slouchy l/s r/neck sweater, black kitten heel pointy shoes
Taupe/stone swing l/s white co merino swing jumper, nude ballets or flip flops
Zara floral shirt
I may try them with turquoise and love white and blush too

Loads infact, are proving a good buy.....may invest next year.

Lego.....god, my DS loved it, we still have entire Lego castles gathering dust in his room.

OneLittleLady · 08/06/2013 15:00

Have bagged myself some time/work experience in a recording studio in town to help strengthen my uni application Grin

Feeling foxy today in a black maxi skirt and black and white striped vest top

Drywhiteplease · 08/06/2013 17:30

Oh Amber I have just read your shorts blog......I love youSmile . So like you, my thighs and bum and Lilly white stumpy legs have always been my bug bear. I totally agree with everything you said. My dd came in just now ( we're going to a BBQ ) and said she wanted to wear her shorts but her thighs are big.(Crap...she has inherited dh lovely long legs and blonde hair too Envy)I read her your blog and told her about me, she's wearing her shorts!
I'm not wearing my white skinniesGrin... Have a good evening everyone.

OneLittleLady · 08/06/2013 17:43

does anyone have a link to ambers blog? I keep hearing about it but haven't seen it

MarshaBrady · 08/06/2013 18:13

Here Onelittle.

mignonette · 08/06/2013 18:19

Delightful day spent dealing with StepD's bank because her account has been raided by skimming her card.

Being refunded but Lloyds- you are a bunch of obfuscating, obstructive ***. Absolute nightmare trying to get through multiple layers of security/call centres etc.

Amber good luck with the hand. Remember to wipe off hospital shower heads with disinfectant wipes/spray. They are nasty, bacteria and fungi laden things....(I'm a RNMH).

LinusDKD · 08/06/2013 18:32

One what wonderful news! You must be so excited!

Dry I have no idea how you survived without Wifi, I would have gone insane.

Amber I hope your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly.

Leather my DC were born in the country we live in currently, so I haven't had to move countries with them but we probably will have to in the future.

We do live in a very international city so the children in DS's nursery are from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds. Most of them have parents with different nationalities like DH and I and I think it makes life much more interesting. You have the advantage of already speaking the language so that will make settling in easier but I would say it takes at least a year before you start feeling settled. But that is absolutely normal.

Santa let me guess, the most boring place you lived in is Switserland? Wink

I have to put DS to bed but once I am sitting in the sofa with a glass of wine I will tell all about my pretty dissapointing shopping today.

LinusDKD · 08/06/2013 19:53

Such a dissapointing shopping trip today!

It was one of those days when you are willing to splash the cash but there is nothing that tempts you.

I did get measured for a new bra and I did buy two very comfortable but very boring T-shirt bras, which is why I went into town in the first place. But the excitement I felt last night after my fantasy shopping spree quickly turned into dissapointment.

I went to the Céline store to see if they had any Nano's (they had told me last time to come at the beginning of the month) but they had sold out again. Not that I was going to buy one if they had one, honest!

Well ok, maybe if they had one in an absolutely gorgeous colour and the price wasn't too steep (I have no idea what they cost though so I could be in for a rude awakening)

Whilst I was in there I saw a teenager who was dressed so outrageously (and not in a good way) that I still have to think about her.

She was morbidly obese and was wearing a garish flowery jumpsuit, silver sequinned Doc Martens style boots, henna coloured hair and a giant mint coloured flower in her hair. She looked sooo miserable, even when her grandmother (?) said she would buy her the red Céline bag if she wanted to. I really felt sorry for her, she exuded such unhappiness.

I also went into Louis Vuitton to drool over the bag I linked last night. Thank God they didn't have it in the red otherwise I might have gone insane and bought it.

I also had a look in Chanel but the 2.55 I have been lusting after for years (I first saw it in Singapore) was not on displaysnd to complete my fatansy shopping I also went to Louboutin and Jimmy Choo but none of their shoes tickled my fancy.

I also saw Grumpys Prescotts and they are even more fugly
IRL and were also heavily discounted.

I did buy a boring white T-shirt in Massimo Dutti, some navy slim Havaianas and some stuff for DS but apart from that my wallet stayed closed.

Oh well, maybe it's for the best. Like that I have some money to spend in the sales. If they would finally start that is.

Novice I saw some serious bling today, you would have felt right at home!

santamarianovella · 08/06/2013 20:06

mignonette i read an article about the the increase in skimming credit cards.horrible.

linus switzerland is "vages" compared to some of the dumps we were in! but back in the 90s it was not very teenage friendly! but i have nice memories, lovely school with kids from all over the globe, awesome trips to picturesque locations. and some of my school friends say that its changed now,its very hip in a very prim swiss way Wink.my parents are from different nationalities ditto dh and i .dd is very multi national .

i had a very disappointing trip too, went to zanotti in hope to snatch a bargain with my presale invite...nothing!
the last time i was at celine i asked if the nano is instore and they said they didnt have one in months and its by order!they are beginning to rival hermes i think.
