sleep you are right,i had a look at the one over at kings road, they have a great selection of everything!still loving the ash sandals you linked ,but must resist!
queen i would be happy to join you! you must start a board about it! im not excited about mine at all,dh has been making jokes about how its the last month of my twentiesSad.

QueenCadbury · 04/06/2013 22:03

Actually sod radley and get this instead.

QueenCadbury · 04/06/2013 22:07

santa you're young! This is the last few months of my 30s! Starting a board is probably good idea as I'm not sure what sort of thing I'm after. I just want to look fabulous. There is also the small problem of negotiating the budget for this fabulous outfit with dh Grin.

BrandyAlexander · 04/06/2013 22:08

Ooh Sleep just had another drool through your wardrobeSmile

Barbie, how about MK jet set tore?

Michael Kors gia tote slightly out of budget but fab.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/06/2013 22:40

Barbie - welcome! You have come home. Am completely Envy at your wonderful bag collection. I worked a 6-month stint in Dubai and loved the opportunity to dress up properly on a daily basis (I worked for the ruling family's horseracing operation) , those were the days...

Sleep - Love that board and now want everything on it.

Why, oh why on earth did you link to that MK Jet set tote Novice? Now I need it.

Forget Paris and the George V, at this rate there'll be no money left for a night at the Premier Inn in Wolverhampton!

BrandyAlexander · 04/06/2013 22:48

Sorry GrumpyGrin btw the George V is eye wateringly expensive. I think it was £1k per night. The Savoy has just been redone by the same folks who did George V. We stayed for 1 night recently and it was £500 for room and breakfast.

AmberNectarine · 04/06/2013 22:51

I'm in love with Kate Spade bags right now. Great quality and not prohibitively expensive. I am also loving my big white MK jet set tote.

I swear by T by Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang for most of my basics. Also love Vince and Splendid for tees. Jeans are Goldsign or J Brand for skinnies, Paige for boyfriends. I like Uniqlo for cashmere or Crumpet if I'm feeling rich. Love Maje and Sandro for more graphic stuff. Me&Em dresses are fab, I wear them a lot for work. I take a S and I'm usually an 8-10 in dresses.

drywhite yes, I'm a member of their bloggers network and they chose me for this event. Very excited - have had big try on in front of mirror. Such a shame about the bitchy girls, I was your DD once though and it hasn't done me any harm.

Am Envy of all you tall people!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/06/2013 23:09

Amber I share your love of Kate Spade, although mine is not restricted to bags. Don't even tell me about your white MK tote Grin.

Novice I know all about George V - I checked it out online when we were due to go racing at Longchamp last year because the client who was booking the trip said it was too expensive to stay there. Now this was the man who would only book us BA business-class flights to the US(at over £10k a visit) and paid for various stays at Chateau de Montvillargenne in Chantilly and the Royal Barriere in Deauville, so he was no cheapskate! I know it's ridiculous and I probably wouldn't stay there (rather spend the money on something else), but it does look fabulous.

santamarianovella · 04/06/2013 23:21

grumpy ,why not settle for a meal there insteadGrinmost of the lovely hotels in Paris are under major renovations,I recommend hotel Westminster or hotel Lancaster ( I know very English names). They are very elegant and reasonably priced compared to George v, and there is plaza Athenee, which is equally impressive as the George v.

FaddyPeony · 04/06/2013 23:50

Thanks all for the welcome and commiserations. I'll report back if the dress ever finds me.

Barbie I'm beyond Envy at your shopping mission. Enjoy!

Linkage of earlier purchases:

Zoe Karssen Ts: red, grey and blue. Not sure if I'll be keeping all 3, will decide once they arrive!

Frivolous Topshop Skirt: pink skirt - not sure what came over me really, it might be awful

and this grey jumper to maybe tuck into skirt if it's not completely hideous.

LinusDKD · 05/06/2013 06:08

Good morning!

faddy I really like that TS jumper.

I never wear jumpers as I feel they make me look a bit boxy but I have taken the plunge and today I am wearing a royal blue Esprit jumper I bought yesterday with a yellow Massimo Dutti tee and my Jimmies.

I hope the weather holds so I can (finally) wear my cobalt gigis, althohgh my feet are badly in need of a pedicure.

Santa I am sniggering at the thought of the French pronouncing those hotel names.

barbie share your favourite beauty products with us!

LinusDKD · 05/06/2013 06:54

Rats! The leather strap on my blue Chan Luu bracelet has broken off!

I think I can still wear it as there is one knot and loop left (thank god for slim wrists) but I'll have to secure the knot with some superglue. I hope it works because I love that bracelet.

Barbie1 · 05/06/2013 06:57

Good morning.

I've been awake most of the night, mentally thinking of packing each room and which clothes, products I need to last the three months until our container arrives.

We will fly business so have extra package allowance but its going to be tough!

I will catch up with the thread a little later but as requested a few beauty essentials

Estée Lauder advanced night repair...always.

beautiful product, multi uses

sunburn, bites, burns this product does it all

the prettiest blush

Yves rocher do the most brilliant dupes of Estée Lauder moisturizer.

Hamman body glove to exfoliate. Gross what comes off the body.

St tropez for tan. Perfect colour, no mistakes.

Lancôme mascara. Can't be beaten in my opinion.

Mustela baby products. Perfect range for sensitive skins.
Stelatopia is a lipid replenishing balm. Fab for dry patches, dehydrated skin, dry skin conditions. Currently using it as my moisturizer.

Mixa, a French brand. Cheap as chips and the best hand cream I have ever used.

Le petit Marseillais, another French brand. Lovely shower gels and a really nice scrub with argan oil, again all under ?6!

Bioderma h2o, easy peasy makeup remover. Just launched in uk. Last forever and is very effective. Makeup artist rave about this.

Chanel solid bronzer in the big round pot. It's not a powder which suits my dry skin. Build able colour. Love!

Drywhiteplease · 05/06/2013 07:59

Barbie you're my new bf.....slightly obsessed with make up, but what would you recommend for enlarged pores not age related my foundation looks terrible.
Faddy I love the TS jumper, v useful
Amber it seems quite a few of us are small.......good for heels, and "the best things come in small packages" as my 5ft mother says!
Grumpy oh Wolverhampton, the city of romance Grin

Drywhiteplease · 05/06/2013 08:00

Marsha I agree, I do not like new MN one bit....where's the envelope and "my mumsnet" gone ? I will never be able to upload photos now!

Barbie1 · 05/06/2013 08:22

drywhite fortunately open pores aren't something I have has to deal with, however in clients in the past I have tried too faced primed and poreless and there is a Clinique one called pore minimizing perfector which helps to even out skin tone too as it had a slight tint.

Estée Lauder idealist is a skin care product which also does the above.

shopafrolic · 05/06/2013 09:01

Try the correcting serum and instant perfector Drywhite

Random question of the day.
I am wearing this dress today. It's short (for me), 3 or 4 inches above my knees. I feel exposed. I don't do dresses. I love the look of myself in the mirror (modest!) but every time I sit down or bend down I'm terrified of exposing myself. What underwear do you lovely short skirt wearers use please?

shopafrolic · 05/06/2013 09:19

I hadn't even noticed the change to MN but agree - where's the profile My Mumsnet bit gone? I changed to the new Pinterest a while back Marsha - have already forgotten what the old one was like!

Barbie I love Mustela products! My DM used them on us when we were babies and now I use them on DS and DD. The smell is just lovely.

The Bioderma cleansing water is very good indeed, especially for taking of eye make-up.

This weekend I bought their tinted moisturiser with Spf 50 and I am loving it. It looks quie dark in the tube but once you work it into your skin it just leaves a healthy glow.

I just love French pharmacy brands because they are not too expensive and seem to work as well as the premium brands.

LinusDKD · 05/06/2013 09:24

Such a lovely dress shop!

Annianni · 05/06/2013 09:28

Matches order is out for delivery

Welcome Barbie, lovely bag collection you have :)

Shop in the olden days, when I wore short skirts...
I was a fan of shorts underneath.

shopafrolic · 05/06/2013 09:41

Is that why everyone keeps going on about cycling shorts Anni? Come on Marsha you're queen of getting your legs out - what do you wear?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 05/06/2013 09:46

Linus will Chan Luu not repair?

MarshaBrady · 05/06/2013 09:54
