Just about to order these two, what do you think? Any experience on sizing?

I hope nobody thinks I'm boosting about my things Blush
Expat life can be a little lonely at times so my generous dh treats me to lots of lovely things as a bribe to move to dodgy islands That said I haven't bought clothes for the last few years apart for the pieces mentioned up thread so probably haven't spent a much as some
Of you Wink

shopafrolic love, love your Pinterest board, totally up my street!

LinusDKD · 04/06/2013 20:39

I am not a fan of leather jackets but that biker jacket is something else Barbie

What kind of black bag are you looking for? Tote? Crossbody?

Maybe have a look at the Outnet as they have nice designer bags at discounted prices.

Drywhiteplease · 04/06/2013 20:45

Evening Faddy and Barbie this thread is so not judgemental, but Barbie if you're worried about it pm me and I'll take a few bags off your hands!Grin

A short arse here too.......I agree with Paris fitted styles suit better.

This thread ( and the million blogs i read) has;

encouraged me to try styles out of my comfort zone whilst still being "me", introduced me to new brands,
brainwashed me by repeating certain words again and again ( wang,wang,wang.....Gigi,Gigi,Gigi ....hasbeens,hasbeens,hasbeens,.........Goldsign,goldsign,goldsign) until you really need them!!!!!!
Provided me with a lovely opportunity to chat about clothes (and other stuff)without being judged.

Other news....DD (12, first yr at secondary) came home sad about being left out from sleepovers etc, bitchy friends bragging etc........it will blow over tomorrow, but so hard being a mum sometimes Sad. Girls,ESP, can be so insensitive ( and oversensitive) sometimes

And One do it...you must, you'll regret it if you don't.

shopafrolic · 04/06/2013 20:47

I have the 2nd one Barbie. It's fab but it does come up long, although you can adjust the ruching at the waist. I'm 5ft 10 ish and I comes to the floor. I got the large and am a size 12 on top, 12/14 bottom.

Amber GFW sounds fab....with Next. Great. Is this through your blog?

shopafrolic · 04/06/2013 20:49

My friends did that to me when I was a school Dry and all went to see Back to the Future 2 without me! I was devastated. (God i'm old!) Poor her, if it's any consolation it did all blow over....... Maybe she can throw her own sleepover?

dry I hope your DD feels better tomorrow. You are right, teenage girls can be very cruel to one another.

I am going to fly the flag for a company from my home country that makes the most beautiful designer bags and apparently they now sell them in the UK at Dover Street Market and Selfridges.

www.delvaux.com/delvaux-1829.php

DM bought me my first handbag at 18 from that brand and I still have it, and a couple more Blush nearly 20 years later.

The website seems to be under construction but you can have a look at the SS13 collection

McNally · 04/06/2013 20:53

Good luck with the application One. Course sounds really interesting.

Amazing bag collection and wardrobe Barbie. Will look at your wanted list when more time later.

Your poor DD Dry. I am already dreading my little one going through things like that. As you say though, at least it usually tends to blow over pretty quickly. I think everyone goes through it to some extent sadly.

BrandyAlexander · 04/06/2013 20:54

Hi Barbie, what kind of bag are you looking for? At that price range, I am quite liking Michael Kors, Coach but they don't really do black. There is an Anya H bag that's on outnet for £298 that's cute but the fringes bit isn't classic. After several culls of black bags, I think I am down to 2 black day bags. One is Prada and the other is Next!

BrandyAlexander · 04/06/2013 21:00

Your poor dd Dry. Fingers crossed that it does blow over tomorrow.

Linus really lovely bags. What's the price range?

Shop, 5'10"???Shock Okay, when you reached down from a long way up to hug goodbye I didn't realise you were that tall! Someone else was saying earlier that they are 5'9" - Envy too

OneLittleLady · 04/06/2013 21:02

5' 10'' Shock I feel even more tiny! I'm exactly 5' Blush

santamarianovella · 04/06/2013 21:05

yay barbie is here ! was wondering when will you ever join us .
shopping for basics in paris can be a nightmare,i visit my parents 3 or 4 times a year and never find good selection of jeans,or basic tops. and dont worry about IM sizing,im an 8 and i have a size 40 dress, that is a bit fitted at the chest, and im a 32b!.
i suggest going to either selfridges or harvey. they have a great selection of denim, and many lovely ladies here rave about shopatanna , sleep bought lovely things from them.
do link your chanel i want to get one for my birthday next month.

Drywhiteplease · 04/06/2013 21:07

shop the annoying thing is some girls that age are so fickle. It's all about power and bigging themselves up. I let her have a sleepover (for 7 !!!!!i needed a stiff drink or five) a couple of weeks ago and they all had a ball. I try not to pay much attention and let her get on with it, she's not shy and is non political and happy generally and tomorrow it will all be fine I'm sure, it's all a learning curve........still crap though.

Back to Barbie's bags!!!

Had to chuckle at the MN "can you dress for your man and still be a feminist?" discussion. My DH doesn't notice half the time Grin..... He'd only really notice if it was something decidedly unfeminist!Grin

LinusDKD · 04/06/2013 21:12

novice the prices are in the LV price range but the last bag I bought from them was about 9 years ago so they might have gone up in the mean time.

5' 4'' munchkin here Sad

Barbie1 · 04/06/2013 21:15

Thankyou for the very warm welcome ladies Blush

santa the Chanel web site won't work on my I phone but I will link tomorrow from the laptop. I wanted one without the cc logo as they tend to be the most copied style. Some people might not even recognize it as a Chanel without the logo but that's what I l

shopafrolic · 04/06/2013 21:15

That should have read in low heels!!!! Grin
I'm about 5ft 8!

Barbie1 · 04/06/2013 21:20

Love about it

(Sorry for multiple post, my iPhone is going haywire!)

sleep girls are so bitchy Sad I dread the day my dd age 3 comes home upset.

shop Envy at your height! Maybe I'll be swamped in the maxi then?

Re next bag, I think a tote. Not keen on cross body, I like to carry my bag like a wag as my mum says Grin

Just a basic tote, nothing too rigid. Big enough for collection of cars for Ds, Nappies, boxes of raisins and all the other crap that come with having two small kids

Sleepwhenidie · 04/06/2013 21:30

at the RO jacket! and Envy at all the rest too Barbie. If you want somewhere less vast than Selfridges at al I was about to suggest coming over to Primrose Hill to Anna, it really is fantastic for the type of things you are looking for, has a much greater range than on the website, eg denim - Mother, Paige, MiH, Goldsign, cashmere by duffy, 360, chinti & Parker, blouses by Tucker, lots of other lovely labels and shoes and bags. You could also potter on up to Hampstead for more great high end high street - Zadig, Maje, Tara Jarmon, Question Air, Charli, Comptoir, Reiss, T cup boutique etc if you wanted.

this and summer wardrobe board have most of my wardrobe on and approx 2 out of 3 things came from Anna! Would be happy to join you if you want company Grin

QueenCadbury · 04/06/2013 21:38

dry I dread that age. Dd is 7 and it's bad enough. It's so hard staying out of it as your instincts just want you to protect your little girl.

barbie I'm strictly a high st girl so probably not what you're after at all Grin. I know they're often hated on MN but I do like a radley bag and there's lots of black totes here within budget. Not quite chanel, which I am very Envy of by the way. What colour do you have?

QueenCadbury · 04/06/2013 21:42

sleep and other Londoners, I may enlist your help in the autumn in either telling me where to go or accompanying me to buy the birthday dress. I figured I may as well pay the train fare up there rather than the delivery and return charges of 100s of dresses Grin.

santamarianovella · 04/06/2013 21:44

dry your post reminded me of myself at school!had a terrible time with this one girl, who was an evil bitch to me,it was like something out of lord of the flies! it will get better, still its very difficult to see your kids being bullied or treated differently.

linus im waiting for the sale to start too!

im Envy of all the tall ladies! im 5"5.

Sleepwhenidie · 04/06/2013 21:47

5'5" too Santa... sounds like we could quite easily share wardrobes given size and tastes Smile

Barbie1 · 04/06/2013 21:47

queencabury believe me I'm very high street too. It's dh that isn't Grin currently rocking a pair of h&m skinnys so I'm very versatile Wink my Chanel is black, silver muted straps.

sleep any other time I would of taken you up on your offer (maybe when back in nov?) but dh is the shopaholic and not me and is very excited about the shopping spree Hmm his wardrobe is way better than mine!

I'm just excited to spend the night away from the kids Grin

I hate trying on stuff, I'm such a silly shape, small waist but I have hips, and until recently a bust.

Will check out the store you recommend, thank you.

We were planning to hit selfridges as its open late. I also want to head to joesph as there trousers fit me perfectly. Which they would, they are £££ Sad

By the way im a beauty therapist and makeup junkie so if anybody needs any help in that department I'm very happy I help Smile

shopafrolic · 04/06/2013 21:54

Yay! More beauty stuff on the thread then? Fabulous!
The maxi length can be adjusted by ruching at the waist so may still be worth a try, especially as you'll be a smaller size than me. It is fab and a great colour.....

QueenCadbury · 04/06/2013 21:56

barbie your chanel sounds divine.
